08-July-2009 Mobilising Armies + patch notes
Again I will point out that it was a flop because of all the hype surrounding it and what was delivered, not really having to do with who hyped it. Coupled in with the fact that everyone knew how much time and effort was spent on it. The updateless week before it didn't help either. Flop. -.-

What a dull game
I'm going to repeat this because it bears repeating. WoW has motorcycles. Shark jumped. :x

Mechscape for Runescape?
If they do to Runescape what they did Classic, I'd probably move over. If Runescape is going to be kept as a full fledged and updated game, I'll stick to it.

Scariest moments in your life
Thanksgiving of 2007. With my ex girlfriends family her mom was carving the turkey and dropped the knife, which banged off the table and landed blade down stabbing me in the crotch, only it hit dead on the zipper and bounced off. I came very close to a second circumcision.

Will nerfing 26king really stop the inflation?
Man I'd give anything to have a skill that would be cash neutral. Neither making money or losing it. A skill that would be done by you and only you can the benefits of training. All produced items being untradeable. That would be sweet. Well, Jagex talks about how they always want to implement new ideas into their game. So why not a totally DIY skill? A skill like Archaeology could easily be a DIY skill. Self-sufficiency isn't a bad thing. I can hear the DIY'ers begging already.

Official year of upgrades / Month 7 / FAILS
Yeah, I mean the game itself isn't as bad as it has been in the past. Thank God many of the kids have left from 2-3 years back. I think the whole making the game too easy is valid. I don't mind some streamlining and making things clearer, but they have clearly done it with too heavy of a hand. I don't care how much people love it, there never should've been any kind of do-x or do-all options. Some of the "quick" options are fine. As far as the year goes, I think it's been a horrible year content wise. Every update has been bugged out the [wagon], or has been short quest, other than 150, but then again 150 was meant to be an awesome quest, and we got filler. That's why I'm calling 2009 the "Upgrayedd" year. Idiocracy fans will get that.

Recession hitting Jagex?
I personally think a portion of the Runescape content team was shifted over to finish Mechscape and perhaps due to the economic conditions, they were moved instead of hiring more people to complete it. I also think that's why they chose this as their "Upgrayedd" year. Fewer content developers, so less people to do the work, so they make "upgrades" that obviously don't require the time investment that a new piece of content does.

Probably won't, but it will make us feel all warm and fuzzy like we somehow solved something by complaining.

What do you do? Borrowers who can't wield.
You two both entered into an agreement and you both got what you wanted. It's too bad he didn't know what it was he wanted. He'll learn his lesson.

New minigame- Mobilizing armys
Let this minigame be a lesson to you. Don't smoke pot and develop Runescape. It could lead to content miscarriage.

08-July-2009 Mobilising Armies + patch notes
Well, the reason for it being a flop is definitely because of the overhype then the actual content delivered. I mean there is falling short of expectations, and this thing which is an outright flop. Not to say flops don't turn out to be classics later on. Caddyshack, Idiocracy, movies like that were flops in their release, but became cult classics later. As far as me doing better, you missed my point. Put aside the coding, time developed, bugs, all that. The game itself, mechanics, logic, strategies, playability, the whole package... Well, it still sucks. :wall:

What a dull game
If only they were all kill the 10 bears. Gotta love the bring me 8 something or others from creatures that drop it 10% of the time and when you attack 1, 2 more will jump out to attack you as well.

New minigame- Mobilizing armys
If you forget about the bugs and look at the actual game, how you play it, the logic involved, the tactics you can use... well, it still sucks. #-o

The game blows. It was ill planned, ill conceived, and ill developed. A total flop. Make some more quests. Lay off the minigames for a while. Please.

What a dull game
It's a rant forum, and it's tie to Runescape is that WoW, in comparison to the game, is woefully one dimensional. The game is bland, unless you want to kill bosses. If not, you got nothing else to do. And yes, Runescape is combat based a good bit too, but I can go for hours without having to fight in Runescape. As far as playing with other people, I don't want to! I don't want to associate with pther people on that deep a level. I accept playing in and around with other people, but Runescape doesn't force you to deal with them all the time. I can do about 80-90 percent of stuff on RS by myself. And on RS if I die, at least I don't have to respawn where I died, and die all over again. That's a lovely chain of things to do 7 or 8 times in a row. Also, in WoW, they put in motorcycles. That's it. Case closed.

What a dull game
You didn't really dispute what I had to say. You simply replied that the things I find boring or annoying about the game, you like. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. And just because something is a ripoff of something else, doesn't mean the original is any better. I mean, there's a third Van Wilder movie and the first one was completely awful.

What a dull game
I don't want to show Runescape in a good light. I only tryed WoW because of this BS upgrade year that's resulted in very little for me to do. Hopefully in 2010 we'll be done with the upgrades and the content team will be over their bout of Minigame Madness. Better yet, to anyone who gets it, I'm going to refer to it as Runescape 2009: The "Upgrayedd" Year

What a dull game
Oh yeah, one more thing to add. You die. Constantly.

What a dull game
That, and combat is also overly complicated. All the hotkeys and stuff. I'm much happier to keep it much simpler.

What a dull game
WoW attempts to appeal to as many as humanly possible, and as a result it's been slowly dumbed down and made easier over the years. Yeah, cause Runescape hasn't, lol  Not to mention, 15 dollars a month? Are you serious? For that crap? I mean every update is the exact same thing as before, only with higher stats. I asked on the forums, and I was quite nice about it considering I was new to the game, if the game is essentially the same at lvl 70-80 as it is at lvl 10-20, with the monsters, quests, and so forth. When they said it was, I repled that that was kinda lame. From the response I got you would've thought I has burned an effigy of Jesus and raped a teenaged girl dressed up to look like the Virgin Mary.

What a dull game
Oh yeah, it has great lore, but I don't consider that a part of the game. The lore is on their website, not so much in the game. It would be like walking up to the Chaso Elemental ingame and asking him about some future updates. The game itself only has graphics and movement. Everything else is very substandard, unoriginal, and boring. And if you think people are protective about their Runescape, try scoping the WoW forums. Never seen so many out of work 30 year olds living with their mothers defending their pathetic existence.

What a dull game
No, not Runescape. World of Warcraft. My RS membership recently ran out, and I've taken a long break from RS. Half because I probably need it, the other half because over the next few months until this damned "upgrade" year is over, when I get back there might actually be a smidgeon of new content for me to play. But anyway, WoW has a trial that you can do and I did it. Okay, it has graphics. Yippee-O. The rest of the game is flat and boring. You can only have 2 primary skills, and they have 3 secondary skills that are pretty lame. The whole game is combat based. And not only combat based, but group combat based. If you've played this game, you can see how much they go out of their way to discourage anyone from playing the game solo. 80% of the monsters are aggressive and if one thing attaks you, it pulls a whole group with it to kill you. Wow, that's fun. The quests are one of three things. Bring something to someone, retrieve something from someone, kill something for something. Now they can be 2 or all 3 of those things in one quest, but that's all it is. Again, flat and one dimensional. And they just blow out the crap with characters and monsters, having insane amounts of hp and hits. I mean the whole thing is on the same scale, but instead of being able to hit 20-30s on a creature with 200 hp, they do this nonsense of it having 20000 hp and you're hitting with you hitting 2-3k off of them. Maybe they do it cause 14 year old love hitting big numbers. I honestly don't see the appeal of this game. If I groveled at the altar of combat and maybe felt that I shouldn't do anything on a game unless I'm with 4 other people at the same time I might like it, but as someone who enjoys some kind of variety in a game and likes to occasionally be by myself when I play, not for me. I won't have an online game force me to interact with other people. Why I don't play many RS minigames.
