  1. First post on this thread, and I have to say, generally any type of "dieing" is considered bad. But for me, the worst would be dieing of starvation.
  2. Is anyone else here a Samurai Jack fanatic ? One of the best shows ever in my opinion. Even at the age I watched it, so many references I didn't get.
  3. What is a Mii? And I've had buzzed hair 80% of my life, decided to grow it out this summer. Those profiles you can create on the Wii. With the bloated heads, wacky hair-doos and out-of-proportion facial appendages. Ooops. Sorry. :-# But they're good to socialize with ? Ummm....

Dan Brown is a hack. But an entertaining one. Currently reading the Big Sleep - Raymond Chandler. So is that a go ahead and read it because it's good, or don't buy it because it's poo? Or a bit of both? XD I've read them both. And thoroughly enjoyed them. However beware - once you get hooked, it's hard to ween the addiction. So I'd say yes.
  5. That atrocity that jaerk posted in the OP - made my ears bleed. Why would anyone combine pop with screamo. Techno, electro thing was OK. But, what I really dislike is the death bands like : Waking the Cadaver [hide=Song Example][yt]uCBSX0XDSVI[/yt][/hide] And really hilarious.
  6. Eh, Peter Jackson approved of Blokamp at Comic-Con. Also said there's going to be plenty of action. Fine with me.
  7. DONT MESS WITH THE NEESON. Grrr. I like it because it's smart action. Pure action. Unadulterated with sex scenes, overly foul language or length and cheesy dialogue. One of the best action/thriller flicks ever.

Busted out a new video card. God damn it feels good to see and to smell that object of joy air-sealed in plastic. Integrating it tomorrrow. Goodnight all.

  10. You cant blame the English back in those days - they dominated the world and took what they could, and if it wasnt for them there would be alot less civilization. Wow. Alot less civilization ? Ray, do you really want me to ranting on for 3 pages ? I'll give you the English [which included the French and German at the time] weren't as bad as the Spanish, who essentially ransacked a country and decimated it's population [disease and civil war being a few causes]. But the Britishers did colonize it -- which doesn't mean anything at all. It was an imperialistic chokehold on the country's people, culture, and resources. Most of the time the English were nothing better than theives and genocidal maniacs. Unless of course the people they were going to kill could be "employed" in the cotton plantations. Over time it leeched today's billions from those countries preventing them from prospering. Do you know how many tonnes of precious metals the English stole, just from India ?
  11. Yeah, I've been ravaging their post history to see what lies beneath. Lateralus is one fine user. And you too Racheya !

It was good as a piece of literature , but as something that appealed to the mind - well, think of it like this. [There are 3 parts in the book by the way] You build a gigantic tower using all this effort and many resources only to knock it down so you could test the strength of the material. [best analogy I could come up with, I'm sorry] Part 3 wont make sense without 1 and 2. Part 3 is the "book". Part 1 and 2 [which is good writing by the way] is what Martel had to throw in to make the book complete. So you have to piece all the parts together. It's as if Martel has spent all this time and backstory building and building just to come to some "spectacular finish" - which cheapens the book. It's a good story but dont think too much when you read it. Just go with the flow.

    I've read Life of Pi.
  14. You look like a Mii. And that crazy hair makes you look weird.

 I'm like that too. With the game - and with Fallout. It was originally a DOS game so it actually required a lower operating system. On the back cover it said compatible with XP and Vista but every 5 mintues the screen would go blank and I'd have to move the mouse around to "colour" it in. And I even tried changing the compatibility settings but it didn't work. :(

. I've got such a bad computer, and I am so not upto scratch with current gaming that : Two days ago, I bought the original Fallout and it worked, but badly. Then, I exchanged it for Dawn of War and that worked moderately well on minimum settings. Those are 11 and 5 year old games, respectively. Sheesh. :-#
  17. Native people. Like aboriganals, just a different type. Aboriginals essentially comes to mean any indigenous, homogenous population of a "land". Doesn't matter whether they are "primitive" or not. Also, Zonor and Dave. I think your're antagonizing them just a little bit. White settlement in Australia has essentially been here for 200 years. And the aboriginals - 60,000. I'm sure they can adapt and change to our current environment. It is wrong for you to think so low of them. As simple minded neanderthals who prefer hunting and eating "bush tucker" even now. Ultimately, I think it comes down to complacency and laziness.
  18. I think it's going to be the Blair Witch Project of Science Fiction. I bloody hated that movie.
  19. It's true. Fine that all these injustices have been comitted against them in the past, and it is truly horrible but the aboriginal people need now to take responsibility for their own actions and their own future. They must now rely on themselves rather than anyone else. I have noticed this trend -- and the only solution is to be self motivated and self sufficent. Stop bludging and take control.
  20. Still waters run deep. (A cliche, but a good one.) Congrats to everyone. Ah, shaddup'. :P =D> to you.
  21. It's funny seeing your name in green. As for the story, it got so depressingly depressing in the middle I wanted to just stop reading. At first it was nothing more than a collection of boohoo my life sucks. But the ending was better.
  22. Some surprises here. Congratulations, Racheya. And Lateralus !? Buddy, I thought you were dead [relatively speaking, on these forums]
  23. The trailer was good, but I think it's done a cluster[bleep] on this. Oh [cabbage]. I linked to TV Tropes.
  24. Your friend kind of describes me, when I'm with my friends.
  25. Okay ? Different good or different [bleep]ing boring ? I've been there once. And I can't remember anything.
