Since the street price already predicts the prices for them, it's no doubt they could be worth more than the maximum limit. Green to blue is already too much for players to pay by straight cash so they are forced to play by the street price if they want to get their hands on one. Also note the obvious that they are discontinued. More players increasing their wealth means players are forced to pay more to get items they want. Partyhats can only decrease in supplies while the wealth, population, and demand are all increasing. The sad truth about discontinued items is they are always targets of manipulating and hoarding because people take advantage of their status and try to play around with the demand for these items. This caused partyhats to be so rare and valuable in the first place. Since merchants knew how to benefit from this situation, partyhats are no longer what they used to be. My theory is if the trade limit was taken away at this moment, we will still be seeing street prices, just not as severe and dependent as before. That means partyhats and other valuables will still be worth what they are now but the mechanics of buying and selling them will be more simplistic.

If you cannot upgrade your phat to a better color, deal with it. Its insane what people have to do to get their hands on one these days. Some people just don't realize how lucky they are to own a partyhat. I was considering on giving my partyhat away (QFC: 36-37-453-61830382 ) and there were lots of players (from 1000-2480+ total lvl) ALL wanting to get a partyhat. They're that hard to get now. And no, I did not give my partyhat away because a lot of players convinced me enough to keep it....

Botting in the GE is the same standard as botting anywhere else. If Jagex catches you doing it, you get banned. I remember a merch complaining on his noob account that he was wrongfully banned because he was only "trying" to grab a quick profit by attempting to be the first to put in an offer at the GE. AKA: Sniping.

Greens are worth 2.3B, but if I wanted something better I would add another green (given that another 2.3B is added) which will equal 4.6B. That's enough to buy a white partyhat which is worth 4.5B. If you take that time to do the math, you will see why my last post exceeded the maximum cash limit. Or perhaps you don't even know how the market works. @ Johannas: Yellow < Green.
