  1. Thanks. Seeking audience trying to fool me? Not as far as I've been using this ammy of mine (over 100 limp plants and not a charge used). I've been ignoring the amulet and went straight to my limp plants: they either were diseased or fully grown upon arriving. I'm unsure if Jagex created this by accident though, because when tending to allotments/herb patch next to the flower patch I bound it to, upon growing it also gives a warning that it is diseased/done growing, which would other wise cost you a charge while you're already there. Anyways, it does save some money/time if players just use one ammy indefinetly for all their farming needs. :P I was more trying to figure out if it would give warnings for stages of longer growing plants (than Limpwurts or other flowers). Perhaps it's something (a single message) unique to flower patches, but perhaps more studies could be done to see if it works for all plants. It would certainly cut down on some of my tree payments. Paying 10 cactus spines for each yew seems a little much, so if I ONLY get an announcement when it's in trouble or fully grown, that would be awesome.
  2. Personally, I think routes should be kept to most popular and quickest. As point of fact, there are an infinite amount of "routes" one could take to the Barrows...and some of the methods are almost redundant. I don't think the guide needs more routes...it probably needs less. Thought lower level players could attempt the Barrows and be successful, I think advising those who want to maximize their trips is the real goal of those guides, so routes like taking a gnome glider and running all that way seems very odd. If you're at the Gnome Tree, you could more easily glider to Feldip and fairy ring teleport from the ring nearby to a spot much closer than the digsite. For that matter, banking in Burgh de Rott is MUCH quicker for return trips and using POH teleport tabs and then a portal to Kharyll would cut down on travel time further. Just my opinion...
  3. It doesn't hum after each cycle? Does it ever "fool" you by seeking an audience for any other reason? If not, that's a major oversight by Jagex, I'd say...and a great catch by you.
  4. Just curious...what do you mean by ignore it? Do you mean not clicking in the chat box that pops up at all and going there on foot?
  5. I'm sure they know about it and are working on it since it was announced in a main update by Jagex. Usually it takes a little while with updates, especially since there have been so many lately. Though it probably should be up soon, they usually ask us not to submit stuff based on recent updates. It's hard to say how long we should wait, but I would say the general rule is almost a month. Welcome to the Tip.It Forums from a fellow poster
  6. Usually I head to Mazchna for my first five tasks in a set of ten, then Chaldear for four, then Duradel for the tenth to maximize the bonuses. Since I don't need the points anymore, I decided to try a new rotation. I settled on Chaldear for nine, then Duradel for my first rotation. Unfortunately, it's slow going, as Chaldear seemed to give me all her "greatest hits" of long and annoying tasks. The Slayer experience is okay (I did level up to level 73), but it wasn't long before I got the dreaded Bronze Dragons...54 of them. At first, I contemplated making it my first ban (which would have gone nicely with a ban on Irons and then Steels, in order). Instead, I sucked it up and donned some prayer boosting items and used the opportunity to train some melee stats. Down in Brimhaven's Dungeon, I managed to get to level 80 in Defence. I crossed the goal off the list, but that's not even the real reason for this entry... [hide=Dragon drop from a dragon...][/hide] It's too bad that I already purchased a Dragon plateskirt. I suppose if I'd have waited, I'd have saved some cash, but who is to say I'd have been in the position to get a drop like that had I waited? Next up for my melee skills will be Attack, with Strength getting the benefit of some cross-training (Barbarian fishing and Pyramid Plunder) before resuming Slayer, but that's once I reach level 80 in Attack. In the meantime, I'm going to Range tasks I can (to get that to 80 to match Magic) and make more money. Managing Thy Kingdom can be a drain on the finances, unless you turn right around and put those resources to work on the Grand Exchange! Another note from the readers before I go... Thanks. At this point, I still enjoy writing it!
  7. You know I think you deserve it!
  8. Had a look this circus and I see what you mean. Now it's at Al Kharid, some are wearing desert robes. I'll assign someone to wear them to see if they get a bonus. Let me know what you find out! 9. Sometimes the urge to write just hits you. Sometimes you're overwhelmingly compelled to write after something big happens. In the case of my RuneScape gaming, I'd say the latter more than the former is the impetus for tonight's (this morning's?) entry. Things started out slow for the day. I began by trying to purchase as many pieces to the Rock-shell armour as I could, since a Rock-shell splinter had been holding a place in my inventory for a few days and I like to free up as much space as possible. Since Dagannoths were my current task, I decided to "kill two Dags with one whip" and make the armour myself, but I was missing a great number of pieces. During the last couple of Dagonnoths on the task, I received a clue scroll with a unique reward, even if it isn't the most fantastic of pieces. At least it wasn't more law runes, rune, adamant, or black armour, bolts of some kind, a crossbow or two, and some rune weaponry that gets high alched the minute the reward screen comes down. [hide=Treasure Trail, June 24th][/hide] I can put it in my "treasure box" in my POH and not worry about it. Just the way I like it. My next task was a bit more tedious. More than 150 Lesser demons would have to be slain, which was alright by me, since I could melee them and work my way toward Defence level 80, which was a goal of mine. I managed to make some real progress, but before long, I noticed a new drop... [hide=This isn't a Treasure Trail scroll...][/hide] I could hardly contain myself. The Lessers had been falling left and right, almost without me having to watch the screen (I don't AFK...ever...that's after trying to do it and losing my best armour early in my RuneScape gaming career). I didn't even have to make bank trips since most of their drops stacked or were high alchemy fodder. The scroll allowed me to cross another song off the list and served to introduce me to a much more thrilling battle than usual. [hide=Not your average Lesser Demon...][/hide] I had to empty my inventory of anything that could even be made into weapons or armour. No hammers or nails or even the enchanted broomstick. I instead took prayer potions and food and stat boosters, but resisted the temptation to use my high level magic potions (though this would have been the time to use them). At first I wasn't doing much damage, but after turning off auto-retaliate and just clicking away at the highest Water spell I could cast, he was down on his knees. I did miss the congratulations screen because my prayer ran out while I was trying to take screen shots. I also realized that I had forgotten to place Champion scrolls on my "task" list, as well as remaining music to be unlocked. After that triumph, I decided to go back and finish collecting the Rock-shell armour to put a complete set in my POH. I took the trip to the Chaos Tunnels to mage some Giant rock crabs. I actually started earning pieces that I had already purchased, but the elusive Rock-shell shard was not one of them. Fortunately, I had put a purchase order in to the Grand Exchange, but forgot to take other items off listing, so every now and then I'd get an alert and run back to Edgeville to check. It wasn't until my last trip that I realized that Defence wasn't going to be the first combat skill to 80 (I'm not counting Hitpoints). [hide=Magic at 80...][/hide] I don't even use Magic in combat. The most common uses for magic in my gaming experience are teleports and...high alchemy. Of course! All the high alching and teleporting back and forth to places put me closer and closer to the 80 plateau, even though I had been specifically training my melee skills to get there a little bit sooner! Penguin Hide & Seek points went toward Hunter, so that skill should be at level 63 soon. The latest task before me is Jungle horrors...again. If it weren't so easy, it would be the first one on my ban list. It's annoying. Another reader has posted and I'll answer it here... I'm flattered! I hope you're okay with the frequency I've been posting at...some days there's not going to be anything...sometimes there will be many updates with lots of great pictures and captions. Thanks for reading!
  10. I think there was a "safe spot" which wasn't really completely safe, only safe from the minions...I ended up only having to fight the big beastie itself and with prayer, managed to take care of him. I believe there are places on the net that can show you what I'm writing of...
  11. If you buy a bird snare, you can get bird meat NEAR Oo'glog...an almost unlimited supply...plus feathers...i hate buying stuff unless you've already saved up and bought almost everything you really want to buy
  12. having used both barrows and dragon/rune, the difference to me isn't great enough to warrant the recharging and slight boost... that said, i haven't used guthans, so that might be the difference...veracs and karils didn't really seem to be that much of a big deal...i say save your money, but that's my opinion
  13. Not only is the Dragon plateskirt cheaper for the same stats, it's 1 kg lighter.
  14. I would call that confirmation...is it possible after the quest though or only during?
  15. It doesn't have nearly the kind of detail that the folks here are working on. Whether the research here is necessary or not could be up for debate, but not the level of information. The folks here are working out more exact measures for players of all skill levels.
  16. I don't think a change is needed here. It may be that way when operating it, but I think it's listed the way it is for people to find it. Once you've found it, it doesn't matter what name it's called. It is odd that it's not consistent, unless there is some purpose to it in operation. [hide=Fractionalizing Still][/hide]
  17. Wow...great RC stats! I just can't get into it myself. I'm missing the boat I guess. Good luck on getting 99!
  18. I'm seriously considering some Summoning training, especially since it's getting longer and longer between Tears of Guthix trips leveling the skill up. I'm also back to Slayer training - almost full-time - since I'm working on getting my Defense skill up to the 80 mark. I'm only one away on Attack, Strength, Ranged, and Magic skills, 10 away in Prayer, but -1 in Hitpoints (I hit the 81 mark last night). One big benefit of my melee training was a jump from Combat level 105 to 107 in the past week. Level 53 creatures are no longer automatically aggressive toward me. The list of monsters isn't that large, as it turns out, because some of the ones on the list are always agressive, but the few that will now look the other way are actually decent training fodder. [hide=Level 53 monsters]Ice Giant (found in aggressive areas only) Jogre Ogre Ravager -2- (doesn't count because it's in the Pest Control minigame) Skeleton -25- (always aggressive because of the quest requirements) Steel Armour (in Tarn's Lair...haven't been there yet, so I haven't seen this guy yet) Witches Experiment -4- (4th form and automatically agressive) Zombie -8-[/hide] I'll have to wait some time before another good crop of non-aggressives becomes available since the formula is: (2xCombat Level+1). Advancing in combat did encourage me to take on another challenge. It turns out neither the quest nor the side-quest were really that difficult... [hide=Mine un-haunted and Tarn taken down][/hide] It turns out that right after finishing the Haunted Mine quest, you can teleport to a location just outside the room where Tarn is found with the Ring of slaying. It was so helpful, I didn't use any prayer potions or food. In fact, I had to eat a piece of food at full health just to pick up Tarn's diary. I came across an Evil Yew Tree this week, but no Shooting Stars. I cleaned up my bank a little bit and converted some ore into bars and tipped some bolt drops with cut gems. I also managed to find a missing half to a Crystal key, but got the dreaded "Dragonstone+Spinach roll" reward. I hate those things. Now to respond to my readers... Thanks! You, too! Thank you very much! I'm glad people like it! As always, I'll take a look at the blogs of people who take the time to look at mine. If I haven't already, I'll usually comment, if warranted.
  19. That makes a bunch of confirmations...I think this would be a good addition to the guide...hopefully a crew member will agree!
  20. Well, the OP technically didn't copy it, but you are right...the crew definitely does frown upon submissions that use the KB. The Knowledge Base and even in game messages are sometimes wrong, which is why they insist on actual user testing. I still think the formatting is useful, since that was at least altered. Ehmm just to make myself clear... the information I posted is something I got myself from my own experience. I ran over 100 laps on the Gnome extension yesterday before I posted this. That's why I only entered information on the Gnome course, 'cause I haven't done the other one. I DIDN'T USE THE KB except to check the total xp right after I posted this!! Man, next time remind me to never try to contribute anything ever again... everyone's a critic these days. Just to be clear, I wasn't criticizing you. I don't know why you'd even mention using the KB, since you did your own research. The other person was accusing you of copying, but as I mentioned, you clearly did your own work. I think a crew member has already chimed in on the subject. As stated, they WANT people to make good submissions, but do not want plagiarizing. Since you didn't plagiarize, you have nothing to worry about.
  21. It's something I probably would forget to do. Don't sweat it!

  23. I don't know if you can handle them, but Ice Warrior tasks always seem to leave me with a ton of herb seeds. They're not great, but they're not necessarily guams and marrentils, either. Expect lots of irit and toadflax and occasional ranarr and kwuarm.
  24. There are a couple of other issues with the maps from this area. It needs a lot of work, IMO, but I know it takes a lot of work to do those maps. I have the feeling with all the updates rolling in from week to week, this is not going to get done for some time, if at all. For the crew: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?f=225&t=745195 http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?f=225&t=790782
  25. Here's some additional discussion, but I settled on Port Sarim, and I'm glad I did. It's great to be able to use the Explorer's ring 3 to access the Spirit Tree network, though I wish Jagex would change it so that I could "right click" teleport instead of going through dialogue each time. Whoever suggested law rune crafting this way...thanks! Great idea on saving law altar tablets (from GOP...token, I mean) and Rings of duelling.
