Getting around for Slayer
The fairy rings are rings of rocks (or mushrooms?) that you stand in while holding a Dramen or Lunar staff to get teleported to the Zanaris "hub", where you can dial up a location using a three letter code. You'll probably use them a lot with Slayer and otherwise, but access opens only after completing the first part of the Fairy Tale series and starting (you don't have to finish) the second part. The rings aren't worn by the player...they're "unlimited use" rings located on the ground in some pretty useful (and some ridiculously un-useful) locations. If you have 75 crafting and have completed Smoking Kills, you can gain points to learn the "craft Ring of slaying" technique which will quite simply alter your RuneScape life. It allows teleports to four different locations (if you've completed Haunted Mine, the fourth teleport becomes available)...Sumona in Pollnivneach (yes, a mid-desert teleport and teleport directly to a Slayer master!), the Morytania Slayer Tower (not far from fairy ring destination CKS, the town of Canifis, and the River Salve tunnel and Mort Myre gate), Relleka's Slayer Cavern (the teleport is my most used as the ring would now grant you VERY quick access to the fairy rings at destination AJR, not to mention dropping you off right outside an oft used Slayer destination), and Tarn's Lair (right near the dogs at the end, if you've completed the Haunted Mine quest). You don't HAVE to have construction to use teleport tablets if you're on Lunar Magic spellbook. You would have to buy them on the GE, of course...and not all of them will be cheap, plus you'll lose the ability to teleport to a couple of destinations (that don't have teleport tabs), but Lunar does give you the ability to talk to slayer masters with magic and teleports to a couple of different destinations that don't have teleport tabs.

Waterfiends profit?
They're worth it if you have a task and have to be there (so that you are training and getting something for the money you're putting in). If you don't have them as a task, then the only thing you're getting out of it is the net rewards after taking away the cash you put in from the gross.

Qeltar/truthscape
I don't know, but this isn't really help about the game. Is this off-topic? To more directly answer your question, I'd be wary of signing up for other sites, especially ones that appear closed. His site was a great slayer resource, but if it's closed, I can't see the real benefits of using his forums (unless you registered before his site was closed down and made friends there, I suppose).

New Gnome agility extension
This is good, but I'd call the first "branch" a fallen tree or log instead of a branch in your complete directions. Something like: The Gnome stronghold agility course extension starts after the first tree branch. If you "climb up" the next tree branch instead of crossing the tightrope, you are on it. That is, if you have at least an Agility level of 85. XP gained is: Second tree branch: 25 xp Signpost: 25 xp Swing pole: 25 xp If you complete the entire lap using the extension, your total xp per lap is 745. The total course including the extension is: * Walk across the log to start the course. * Climb up the netting to end up on the first tree platform. * Climb up the tree branch to the next platform level. * Climb up another tree branch (instead of crossing the rope) for the extended course. * Run across the signpost to the other side. * Swing on two poles to end up atop the tube platform near the end of the course. * Jump over the barriers into the tube which takes you to the end of the course. Completing 250 laps using the extended course will make you eligible for the Agility legs which will reduce your weight by 10kg. Level 35 is required in both Defence and Hitpoints to wear the legs, which boosts your defensive bonuses by 40. The changes I made incorporated information from the KB. In addition, this whole update may fall under the "not posting on the day of release" ban from the crew, but I've seen people posting guides and drop logs before and thought I'd help since you were contributing more than just a "hey, change your guides" update. I'm sure they appreciate the in-game research. Also, if they were to add in the Barbarian outpost extended information: XP gained is: Wall run: 15 xp Wall climb: 15 xp Balance beam: 15 xp Gap jump: 15 xp Roof slide to complete: 630 xp If you complete the entire lap, including the start of the normal course and the extension, your total experience per lap is 725.7. The total course including the extension is: * Use the rope swing * Walk across the balance log * Run along the wall * Climb up the wall near the balance beam and use the spring device * Cross the balance beam * Jump across the gap to the roof * Slide down the roof to complete the lap Completing 250 laps using the extended course will make you eligible for the Agility top which will reduce your weight by 12kg. Level 35 is required in both Defence and Hitpoints to wear the top, which boosts your defensive bonuses by 40.

Geez! Give them a little time to put it in! The updates usually take a day or two. Posting on updates the day they come out is usually frowned upon.

New Report
Not knowing how hard it would be to implement another reporting feature makes me hesitate to comment, but I will because it so happens I was looking for that exact feature recently. I'm not sure why that one "double-posting" wouldn't be one of the more common features to report on (along with inappropriate material, spam, off-topic, wrong forum, avatar, promote, or other) and while I can certainly understand that mods would desire more information to be typed into the "further information" section, I think discounting the addition of a helpful pull-down report would actually make it easier for them in those instances where "other" was the only thing reported. It would seem the argument those mods were making would then support the addition of that new report. ...then again, they are the ones that have to deal with the reports and if it doesn't bother them that much to get a large amount of confusing reports, then so be it, right? I think we (those looking for the addition) were just thinking of ways to help...it's a pity so many times it's instead looked at as creating more work, but then again, a small investment of time now usually can mean a large savings in time later.

My 110th task necessitated another visit to Duradel. I was shocked to learn that he expected me to kill 151 Warped Terrorbirds. I considered cancelling the task and even adding it to my ban list, but I decided to give it a try. I did a little research on how to best kill the beasts and discovered 'solo birding' in the Sewer Slayer Dungeon's northern caves. The biggest issue I have with this task is that the solo method is seemingly the only real viable way of doing it without serious danger...and it takes a long run through the cave to get to that spot. The downside is, of course, the length of time it takes to complete the task. The upside...pretty good Slayer experience and some above-average drops. Some of those drops even stack. I definitely won't be looking forward to another one of the tasks, but at least I know it's not impossible or too nerve-wracking. I did advance a strength level somewhere along the way, so I'll be training attack and defense to 79 to match it, along with ranging any task I can to level that skill up as well. Before I go, I'll take the opportunity to respond to a new reader post... Thanks! It took a pretty long time, but I'm still at it! As for Tarn, I expect to have more trouble with the actual quest...maybe I'm wrong. I guess I'll find out this week!

It has already been said, but please change "viles" to vials in the DYK section. EDIT: thanks!

Crafting&Fletching Potions
I think they've said that the updates will be appearing in the next week or so. I don't think it's because the crew missed it...of course, I couldn't be sure of that, but based on previous posts on different topics by them, that seems to be the case.

The Path of Glouphrie Quest
Take it easy. I was trying to help the crew by implying that consolidation would be good, or also, if someone was going to go in and edit a quest guide, that while they were there, they could close up more than just one issue.

The Path of Glouphrie Quest
...I was simply pointing out that a thread already existed about the quest.

I've never been one to covet the high-level weaponry that Jagex often puts into the game in high danger situations. There is one new exception to that rule. The Saradomin godsword. An in-game friend let me borrow it for 8 hours to finish my 100th Slayer task...166 Waterfiends. I over-prepared the first few trips, but quickly learned how little preparation you needed while wielding one of those two-handed beauties. One minor drawback was the number of trips I found myself making, not because I had to, but because I didn't want to drop anything! The drops were fantastic! I definitely made money from the task and anytime I get those monsters as a task in the future, I'll be sure to ask to borrow one. An ancillary benefit was some more side-quest advancement...more Ancient pages. Most trips ended up with one, but one ended with two! I COULD have ignored the skeletons walking around, but I didn't want to pass up the opportunity, since I plan on rarely venturing into the Ancient Caverns, especially without clear purpose. I advanced some levels in my melee skills and even gained a combat level. I trained Herblore by making lots of Serum 207 from low demand Tarromin. I also trained Fishing, Strength, Agility, and Cooking while collecting Caviar. I don't have a clear vision for the next week of gaming, but I do expect to complete the Haunted Mine quest soon, which means Tarn's Lair will be infiltrated in a short time as well.

Treasure Trail Clue, exact wording
I know some crew like to see exact wording and punctuation [hide=Necromancer tower drawers clue]http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/8239/treasuretrailnecromance.png[/hide] It's just punctuation, but I'd want it to be correct in the guide...it's the one I use most often, if any. As usual, please let me know when it's no longer needed on the image host. Thanks

Desert treasure
Were you attacking him or the other enemies that stacked there? I have photographic proof (unless it was removed in the last week as a viable option).

Jelly (lvl78) Habitat
This is correct. I'm not sure, but if you die in the cavern, I've heard that your gravestone appears somewhere else, since it's a special area. I don't know where it appears or even if that's the case and I'm not "brave" enough to test it.

Paying the attendants that ask?...no. Giving them 5 logs again if you want them to re-stoke the fires?...yes, you would have to.

Animal Magnetism
I really don't think most people would/should dump the explorer's ring 3. That's of course, your opinion, but seeing as how Glories need recharging and the explorer's ring provides unlimited charges, I think at the very least mentioning the explorer's ring 3, and maybe the ammy of glory. TBH, it's an out-dated method to get to Draynor. Perhaps long-time players do it nostalgically, but it's a waste of a teleport charge.

I have been carefully stocking willow branches and cactus spines for use in Summoning and Herblore, but I've always had my eye on the Grand Exchange for a certain purpose. Today, I decided to withdraw 1k of each of those items and try selling some of my gathered crops. Wow. Millions of gold flowed in, but rather than re-invest, I decided to finish off my set of Blessed dragonhide items (I now have all three sets) and bought some Dragon boots and saved some money by purchasing a Dragon plateskirt instead of the Dragon platelegs. Nice upgrades. I put the rest of the cash into Managing Thy Kingdom, because I now want to max out that deposit area. I started to think about how I've spent my money in the past. Rarely has it gone to actual weapon or armour upgrades. Usually it goes to completing a set (which is actually a wise practice for saving bank space). I think those recent purchases are a great idea. I went on the shopping spree at the Grand Exchange after getting to 100 Vyre corpse burns. [hide=My Ivandis Flail skill is increasing...][/hide] I'm also getting myself mentally prepared for my first attempt at Barrows. I kind of like the area East of the River Salve...except for the difficult travel, ghasts, and the swamp decay effect.
