  1. From reading a lot of the guides, I would say that putting in a range level in that sentence wouldn't be best. To modify your sentence (and make it shorter): "The number of ice arrows you will need depends on your ranged level and whether you are wearing Ava's accumulator. Players may need as few as 10 or as many as 50 ice arrows to finish off the monster."
  2. I already have skills necklaces to get near the GE and have not changed my Varrock teleport to that location.

  4. Well, the whole point in asking was to find the best place to put mine for teleportation reasons. I don't care about accessing Port Sarim, but that seems to be the best place to put a Spirit Tree, since that will allow me to get to many different types of transportation quickly. Explorer's ring 3 (free teleport) to Port Sarim Spirit Tree patch to Grand Exchange Explorer's ring 3 (free teleport) to Port Sarim Spirit Tree patch to Grand Exchange to fairy ring Explorer's ring 3 (free teleport) to Port Sarim Spirit Tree patch to Gnome Stronghold to balloon Explorer's ring 3 (free teleport) to Port Sarim Spirit Tree patch to Gnome Stronghold to gnome glider Explorer's ring 3 (free teleport) to Port Sarim Spirit Tree patch to Gnome Stronghold to gnome glider to fairy ring There are many more combinations and that's just using the Explorer's ring 3... I'm gonna say it's Port Sarim, but feel free to disagree. I'm not in it for farming experience and as I said, I've already got a quick route to Miscellania via the Ring of slaying to Rellekka's slayer dungeon fairy ring to Zanaris to CIP.
  5. Where should I put a Spirit Tree? I'm torn between Port Sarim (to use in conjunction with the Explorer's ring 3 for teleportation) and Brimhaven (for minor farming runs, the agility arena, and quicker access to a couple of farming patches). Is Port Sarim simply the "only logical" choice? I don't need one on Etceteria...I have the ability to create a Ring of slaying which gives me quick access to fairy rings (and CIP).
  6. I'd like to congratulate the crew on an outstanding addition to the site! These things must take a lot of manpower, creativity, and QA to get ready for release. Though I'm not a Summoning trainer, I think every one of these additions keeps Tip.It as the best fan site for RuneScape out there!
  7. My reasoning was that as a clue that starts out "Speak to" it would confuse anyone not using the "find" function on their browser. I don't use "find"...I go to the section to find the clues and search alphabetically. Since the "referee" clue appears in both places, I thought it should at least be added to the NPC locations section, not to mention changing the wording to read correctly in the riddles section.
  8. Did I miss this clue on the Tip.It Treasure Trails guide? [hide=Clue...][/hide] [hide=Where I found the new one (not Donovan)][/hide] http://tip.it/runescape/?page=treasure_trails.htm#npcloc EDIT: Apparently, though it's a "speak to" clue, it's considered a riddle (since it doesn't have the person's name). I think it's a bit confusing that way, but I bow to the powers-that-be on this ruling.
  9. I have morphic tool data for fletching in my blog (second page?)...link should be below. If you prefer, I can copy and paste it here (and edit this post to reflect that change).
  10. I took an ancient mace and put it on the defensive melee option and hit 5s pretty regularly. Probably any mace would do. Strangely, it didn't seem to have much success on the other settings (attack and strength) so perhaps it's best on defensive settings...i don't know which bare-fisted technique that is... [crew edit: ancient mace has crush attack.]
  11. It was a sneakily productive week. I didn't reach any real big goals, but I made the usual trips to ToG, Penguin Hide & Seek, and the Circus for some experience and decided to continue my assault on Black knights. I ended up receiving my first Dragon drop! [hide=A nice surprise...][/hide] Needless to say, I was excited and immediately set out to buy the right half and smith the darn thing. [hide=Starting to smith it...][/hide] [hide=...still smithing...][/hide] Once I had the whole shield, I just HAD to take a picture, right? [hide=Dragon Square Shield Equipped!][/hide] It helped nicely with my continuing task and before long, I had killed enough Black knights in the game to be considered a White Knight Master! [hide=White Knight Mastery!][/hide] Once I had that out of the way and crossed off my list, I set out to get some more experience and saw that the newest quest had some rewards. I crossed that quest off my list, as well as the minor side-quest. I made some mahogany tables to boost my Construction skill to level 60 and caught enough orange salamanders to get the Hunter skill across that 60 barrier, too. That means my one and only skill NOT at the 60 threshold is Summoning...and it also happens to be the one and only skill that I haven't used. I've made exactly three pouches (all for the Spirit of Summer quest and obviously not including the ones you MUST do to complete the Wolf Whistle quest) and had I thought about it, I could have bought the three I made on the G.E. and been completely 'pure' in at least one skill. I'm okay with it. What's next? I have no idea. I'll probably try and make some cash and more than likely have another skill at level 80 this week. After reaching that level, it will be possible to use a boosting agent to get to plant Spirit Trees. Where will I put it? I'll have to think about it.

  14. Post count can never really account for quality. I'd respect people a lot more if their post was original, thought-provoking, coherent, and substantive rather than a number beneath their name that could include such gems as: "BUMP", "LOL", "+1", "U R A NOOB", and " :D "
  15. I'm getting very close to level 80 in a couple of different skills. I haven't "broken 80" yet with any skill, so the first one to reach a level plateau is always a little more special and significant. The closest is Farming. As a member only skill, it got started much later than many of the skills I've trained. It's not exactly the most fun skill to train, but it's not that difficult and fits into my "daily RuneScape routine" since I've been collecting the produce for use in various other skill training. The next closest (and closing in fast) is Woodcutting. I don't train the skill often, but in an effort to get to level 80 Fletching (for an Achievement Diary task), I used up a great deal of yew logs in my stock. To replenish, I've been cutting yews and alternating between banking and burning them near the stand of trees I'm cutting down. Since I'd also like to train Firemaking to a respectable level, I've been wondering if it wouldn't be better to cut and burn in beacons. For instance: I have 1,515,076 firemaking experience at the moment. Burning a full inventory of yew logs gets me to 1,520,652 exprience. Setting fire to a beacon uses 20 logs (plus 5 if you give some to keep it lit). I'm under the impression that no matter what type of logs you use in the beacon, you get the same amount of experience for lighting the beacon and for the bonus for keeping multiple beacons lit at the same time. It would then seem that normal logs would be the best things to use and that lighting just one or two beacons at a time would be the best way to maximize experience. It would appear that the best way to level up in that respect is to take two loads of regular old logs and visit the two highest level beacons you can light. Load them up, light them, and you get the experience, plus a big bonus. I have absolutely no proof of that, but that's what it looks like when reading Tip.It's guides. Oh well. For now, I'll continue to cut and burn what I can. EDIT: Woodcutting for the win! [hide=Woodcutting...Level 80][/hide] Farming will probably place. Show? Maybe Cooking.
  16. If you need help with that, plenty of us are available... EDIT: looks like you got it working! glad to help!
  17. Well, they'd have to not get the full rewards, but under what conditions? I've arrived really late before and not even been able to GET rewards. For the minimum to be two minutes...did they set one fire and not chop at all? chop for twenty seconds and do nothing else? Nurture the sapling for one "cycle" before chopping and then walk away and come back? I know other websites have posted 2 minute times, but I've never come across it. Maybe there exists a screen shot somewhere out there...
  18. FINALLY...my mouse had made playing RuneScape almost unbearable. It would mysteriously right-click while trying to left-click (closing my game browser before Jagex instituted a great safeguard), sometimes closing other open windows for Tip.It or e-mail, not to mention over-loading the command queue in game, which sometimes got me very nearly killed. Tonight, I cleaned my mouse. What a difference. Now resuming normal gameplay...
  19. OH NO! You're beating me in crafting skillage now? Argh! I'll have to concede. You win. Wait, firemaking, too? Oh well, not everyone can be blue. A very hearty congratulations on your recent accomplishments, especially the access to RSOF!
  20. 10-50 ice arrows, depending on ranging level and whether the player has an accumulator
  21. Why not compromise on that and simply expand the range to start at a lower number? That would help all players...
  22. SportsGuy replied to My_Eggs's topic in Help and Advice
profit? i don't know...if you cut the logs yourself, you can buy nats and high alch them and make a profit. chances are you're buying everything though, so there isn't really a big profit at all, unless you count experience in another skill and not just gold. Sadly, no "magic formula" exists for making profit...otherwise everyone would know about it. Find a good balance that works for you...lots of cash would mean gathering all the logs, the strings, and the nature runes yourself at the cost of your time.
  23. Nope! You should DEFINITELY feel free to submit anything. The crew will take care of it. Don't feel bad at all. A lot of times the "older" posts get missed...by everyone, so don't worry about that. I just thought you'd be interested in seeing some of the other tips and stuff. I usually check to see if something is already there first, but like I mentioned, the crew is second to none. I just use this place a lot. If you ever have any questions, I (and probably almost everyone else) is here to help. By the way, not only is the site great, but a lot of people have written their own guides and stuff in the Archive of Wisdom. If you love the site and are new to the forums, checking that out might give you loads of interesting information that for one reason or another isn't on the site. Also, the Help & Advice forum is where people go with questions and even if you haven't made a single post, you can help guide people if you have answers. As long as you don't try taking credit for someone else's work (which you are not doing), no one should ever give you a hard time. It's a pretty friendly place (which is why I like it!). People who look at post counts instead of the information are missing the points of the forums, in my opinion. Again, welcome!
  24. I think lots of people have their own little tricks on some of the skills. That's a neat little one, but I think it depends a lot on how good a "clicker" you are with the mouse and/or your sense of timing. In fact, there are a couple of tips like this right here in this forum... http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?f=186&t=788864 ...and some other ones waiting for crew to look at as well... http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?f=186&t=792454 Welcome to the Tip.It community! I am a long time user. I hope you enjoy the site!
  25. Absolutely, crew could decide. My reasoning is that it should almost be common knowledge if you've already finished that quest that you could use the ectophial. Otherwise, you don't have access to it. Those suggested items (and bear in mind, it's my own opinion) might be for things people wouldn't usually think of using for the task. Again, you have to do the quest to get access to the town to use the furnace, so they'd already have the ectophial in that case, right? Just my reasoning...
