  1. Slayer ring creation next, then broad bolts creation, then slayer dart stuff...never trade in for experience. It's a waste...unless you're really close to opening up a new possible slayer enemy (within that 10k) and have finished your latest task and want the chance of getting that monster next. I wouldn't do it under any circumstance, but just a thought.
  2. There is a safe-spot that let me kill the thing without taking a single point of damage from his "helpers" and by using prayer. I don't think it's pointed out on Tip.It, but do a quick search on the web for Contact!, safe spot, RuneScape and you should find it.
  3. I was bored and I decided to check on this for you: http://tip.it/runescape/?page=farming_guide.htm#compost Yep, it does!
  4. I was bored and I decided to check on this for you. You're correct! The north and south doors gave me 15 experience each time.
  5. I was bored and I decided to check on this for you. I looked at the Tip.It guide and it appears that eucalyptus pyre logs are listed on one of the tables (the one for prayer and shade log burning combinations, which answers your "also" question), but not both. It's also listed in the KB, just like you mentioned which should help in getting the bottom of the two tables updated. Nice catch!
  6. I was bored and I decided to check on this for you. It does seem that there are some listings which describe the gloves purchased through the chest as quest items (since they're unlocked after different parts of the quest (the subquests) are finished) - and some are not listed as such. I'm guessing that's what you meant about discrepancies and that only. I did find the rune gloves listed in the items when searching for gloves, however: http://tip.it/runescape/index.php?rs2item=&orderby=0&keywords=gloves&Players=all&category=0&subcategory=0&cmd=8&action=Manage_Items&search=1&submit=Simple+Search. I checked the prices and they all look right to me.
  7. What I'd propose doing, then...is making up a list of exactly what you need...right down to the emote or whatever. I certainly don't want to "waste" experience points for even one week if it isn't going to be helpful. If this is truly independent research, perhaps even creating a sign-up sheet where you tell whoever wants to help out what they need to do that week. The problem I forsee is that you don't need just one week...you need at least two weeks...and you need to duplicate your results not just with you, but with someone else! It might, as you say, be something that just isn't that important to the mass amount of gamers out there. Most people can get the full costume set pretty easily through trial and error (I did!) and while it's really interesting, especially if you can nail it down, it's not useful to anyone who already has the costume pieces (at least, until Jagex releases new, harder-to-get pieces). I might give you a week of my experience to be helpful, but I don't think I can afford to miss out on the experience for extended periods of time. What you're doing is commendable, helpful, and to a lot of players, could be very useful. I just think you'll continue to run into trouble getting help more and more unless Jagex can continue to sign up new members - and ones who like the circus outfits!
  8. [hide=Quote...] [/hide] HOLY COW! This looks like a huge undertaking! What kind of research help would you need? I'm not sure I would WANT to give up a chance at so many points each week, but if there was a big group and everyone knew exactly which ones were needed and maybe even they were assigned, I might be up for helping! It's funny...a little while back I was begging for information about the circus and couldn't find anything! Is this points only or experience research, too? Since I already have all the costume pieces, I only do the circus each week for XP...not for points. I can try to look out for specific audience requests each week (depending on where the circus is).
  9. Tears of Guthix, Penguin Hide & Seek...a level here, a level there. RuneScape is getting boring. I know, I know...it's just a slow spot...a trough in a frequency that includes some nice crests...a winter among springs, summers, and fall. I'm really bored, though. I've taken to looking through Tip.It's Website Updates & Corrections pages in order to stave off the boredom, giving myself new and exciting tasks to undertake while some very key levels get the change to grow. I COULD attempt a quest or do some hard training in melee or ranging, but even crossing another item off my Achievement Diary task list didn't excite me. In fact, the only thing that did... [hide=Treasure Trail Rewards, March 11th][/hide] Once I realized I needed another space in my bank, I decided to blow some cash on the remaining pieces of the Light Mystic Robes set that I was missing. It just so happens that those were the most expensive pieces, but at least it now fits in my POH costume room's magic wardrobe. I suppose I'll have to find ways to entertain myself in small amounts until I find the inspiration to train harder!
  10. I haven't checked on that in a long time...when it was relatively new (after the release) it didn't work for me. I only have the (2) version...I'll check and see sometime soon and edit this post with my own findings. [pokemama edit: shortly after SportsGuy posted in December, I tried teleporting with an uncharged lyre and it told me no, confirming his statement. Possibly Jagex changed it since then. I have boots 3 but no uncharged lyres on hand, lol. Looking forward to more info.] I made a new Lyre and tried it without enchanting it. It does work now. Clearly, it's been changed. FYI, the golden wool costs 1000 gp from Lalli after the quest. It still needs to be spun.
  11. I was bored and I decided to check on this for you. I made some tablets and even used them, just to make sure it wasn't a special circumstance for those spell tablets. It appears you're correct! For example: I had 1,194,760 magic experience before creating an emerald enchant tablet. After making the tablet, I only gained 28 experience (to 1,194,788) which was 0.756756756... the experience it should have been (37 experience for casting the spell normally). I thought maybe that the guide meant just that the tablet user wouldn't get any of the experience and the only one who would is the tablet creator, so I checked the Magic Guide and found that you quoted the Magic Guide exactly: "The player who uses the tablet does not receive any experience; the maker receives all of the experience (equal to the amount received if you casted the spell normally)." Here: http://tip.it/runescape/?page=magic_guide.htm#tabs I also checked the construction guide to see if it mentioned anything and under the beginner's guide listing for the study it says basically the same thing: http://tip.it/runescape/?page=construction_beginner_guide.htm Neither guide would be necessarily wrong, except for the part in the Magic Guide in the parenthesis which expressly states that it's always equal to the amount received if you casted the spell normally. As you correctly pointed out, the tablets for enchanting jewelry don't give the equal amount...even if you create it at your own lectern (which I thought might have made a difference, but doesn't). It makes me wonder if it was a change and if any other spell tablets only give 75% experience when made!
  12. You don't need to enter Hemenster's fishing area. The crate is located in the northernmost house. Sorry if I didn't post a screenshot. Morto00x -.- I was bored and I decided to check on this for you. I found a listing for it in the Treasure Trails guide here: http://tip.it/runescape/?page=treasure_trails.htm#search2 "Crate, Hemenster Crate, house most to the North next to the fence in Hemenster." None of those search clues appear to be listed verbatim on Tip.It's site which can certainly be confusing.
  13. I was bored and I decided to check on this for you. I looked in Tip.It's Barrows Guide and found a map that might help. http://tip.it/runescape/?page=barrows_guide.htm It's a little big under the "Attack Plans" heading and under "Tunnels" http://tip.it/runescape/?page=barrows_guide.htm#attack_plan [hide=Barrows tunnels][/hide]
  14. I was bored and I decided to check on this for you. I found this: In the 'Tips' section here: http://tip.it/runescape/?page=herblore_guide.htm I think the Herblore guide and the KB are referring to the regular means of making potions (which create multi-dose potions in three doses) as shown in the (3). I'm not sure how it would be represented...maybe adding all the versions of potions and the experience for each in the table or just a more thorough notation in the 'Tips' section?
  15. I was bored and I decided to check on this for you. It looks like you're right on both counts! [hide=fixed] I have done almost all the quests and tried accessing that part of Gu'Tanoth and indeed had to pay 20 gp to cross. I looked at the Treasure Trails guide and noticed that there are reminders in the 'Approximate Locations' list in the table which make suggestions about things to bring, so perhaps that is something the crew might add! [/hide] I'm not sure if levels or quests completed make a difference, but I was able to go in both directions without ever having visited the Smoke Dungeon! [hide=Polly to Smoke][/hide] [hide=Smoke to Polly][/hide] The game does suggest it might be one-way, which may suggest that for some, it is only a one-way trip (again, level or quest requirement?). I do know there are one-way portals in the Pollnivneach Slayer Dungeon (Desert Slayer Dungeon to some), but I think you're talking about the passageway. Since I checked on it, I took a look at the maps...the Pollnivneach Slayer Dungeon map DOES have the pathway listed, but no mention on the Smoke Dungeon map (perhaps because at one time it truly was one-way!). The text at the top could be changed to reflect that, too! http://tip.it/runescape/?page=smoke_dungeon.htm http://tip.it/runescape/?page=pollnivneach_slayer_dungeon.htm I wouldn't worry too much about posting in wrong places. I know for sure that when I was starting out, I posted in the wrong place occassionally. The crew is so nice...when my posts had to be moved, they did it until I got the hang of where things went!
  16. I'm not sure this even needed an update, but just in case... [hide=Pillory Puzzle][/hide] The reward, the mystery box, and the prize: [hide=A Bob's Axe's Flier?][/hide]
  17. The days of people dropping their crops are over...which means I won't be able to pick them up for free... :
  18. I was bored and I decided to check on this for you. You're right about getting less points and the area not resetting seeds that aren't dug up. The ogleroots can be dug up, but also bought from Farmer Winkin for 10 gp each. He buys them back when you leave the Winkin's farm for 10 gp, not 50 gp, but you can use them while playing to shrink those rabbits from sight for a little while. You're also right about getting points without digging or placing flags! All you have to do is stand near a farmer checking for seeds under another player's flag and you get a few points. You're right about it not really being worth it, but it's still probably worth mentioning, right?
  19. I saw some posts a while back on this and noticed them saying it was considered a hidden update, but just in case this doesn't fit in the "hidden update" category, I did some of my own research on it. You can note anything in your inventory that can be grown in a plot or patch except for logs and it does not have to be at the same leprechaun that wanders near that particular plot. For example, on a trip to the Karamjan isles, I picked some coconuts at my fruit tree patch in Brimhaven, went south and took some pineapples from the bushes near the Brimhaven dungeon entrance and the POH portal and some calquats from the patch in TBV. I teleported to the cabbage patch, ran north, and noted the coconuts, pineapples, and calquats, all at the leprechaun wandering at the farm north of Port Sarim and south of Falador. This means...for the time being, you could pick a full inventory of pineapples near Brimhaven and head north to the patch to get them noted...then run south again to get them noted. It's either a matter of time before this becomes a problem or was designed as another way to get pineapples.
  20. Believe it or not, I took all these pictures over an hour or so...and made a big mistake by not saving my work on one page...so I lost half the dialogue for one selection...probably the most important part of the history dialogue, too. Yeah...not fun. Anyway...get ready, because here come the .PNGs [hide=Arrival at Evil Bob's Island][/hide] [hide=Evil Bob][/hide] [hide=Extra Dialogue 1][/hide] [hide=Servant][/hide] [hide=Fishing locales] [/hide] [hide=Dialogue First Choice][/hide] [hide=Dialogue Second Choice][/img][/hide] [hide=Dialogue Third Choice...well, second half of it anyway!][/hide] [hide=Dialogue Final Choice][/hide] [hide=Statues][/hide] [hide=More of the extra dialogue][/hide] [hide=Gathering around the campfire][/hide] [hide=Leaving via portal][/hide] [hide=Evil Bob's Island, the reward and stuff from the mystery box][/hide]
  21. Prayer Guide: Currently, Monkey Bones are listed only as 18 xp. I guess a separate 20 xp line could be added and then a description added to both (non-bearded for 18,bearded for 20). Item DB: Under uses for Monkey bones -guard-, it already talks about the 18 xp. I might add in the description of the two types. Beastiary: It might be useful to explain the difference between those that block (bearded) and those that don't. I guess it's not necessary to get into the prayer xp difference. Prayer Calc/Planner: Monkey bones -guard- are untradeable, so I'm not sure how many people would use the calc/planner. I am saving all bones as I train 99 melees, so it would be slightly useful to me. I was bored and I decided to check on this for you. In fact, there are two different prayer experience rates for burying bones by the two different types. The pictures happen to be identical to each other and even to big bones, but the bones from the Monkey Guard you CAN walk through (non-bearded) give you 18 experience. The bones from the one you CANNOT walk through (bearded) give you 20 experience. [hide=Monkey Guard bones and Big Bones...][/hide]
  22. Its in the TIPS section, the item guide, http://www.tip.it/runescape/index.php?rs2item_id=5382, contradicts this. [hide=]Either this is a typo or Tip.it meant it to be like this but it still should be changed to say you can buy one afterward.[/hide] There doesn't appear to be a contradiction here, because it is referring to making them. You have to buy it from the Oneiromancer. However, you CAN use the finished Lunar Staves for transportation DURING the quest, so you should go ahead and make them all into Lunar Staves (all the Dramen ones). Once you give her ONE of the finished Lunar Staves, the rest of the ones in your bank will work. I dropped them from my inventory just to be sure, but it's not necessary.
  23. Now THAT I did not know! REALLY? Wow!
  24. Chopped down my first Evil Tree today...I was the first to reach it, nurtured it and got to chop for a long time without anyone there. Nice 100% rewards (I'm told it's the max...10 magic logs noted, some amount of GP (didn't think to take a screen shot THEN...DOH! and a bird's nest with a banana seed in it)...and the nice 26 minute magical banking ability. I teleported to a bank, grabbed an almost full inventory of magic logs, an elf teleport crystal, and some gp. Traveled to the Lleyta area and started chopping and decided to take some pictures of the "ability" in action. Some of them aren't too great, but they are .PNGs and can be sliced and diced. I didn't know if it would be anything to add to the Evil Tree guide. Probably not since there is too much behind it to "distract" from it, but perhaps something in there is usable or useful. If not, no big deal. [hide=Magical log banking ability][/hide] [hide=A standard quality version][/hide] [hide=A different high def image][/hide] Interestingly, I thought I read or saw somewhere that if someone was at the tree chopping with you, it wouldn't work...but it still worked, even if someone was chopping the same one. I think it also helped demonstrably cut down on the amount of...cut downs. I don't know if that percentage is tied directly to your percentage of cutting an Evil Tree, but it might be, since I've heard people talk about not seeing much of a difference. Since I nurtured it from a little sapling to the full cut down, I probably got about 10-15 logs per tree instead of the usual 3-5 I'd get before (at level 76 wc). Filling up my inventory beforehand was useful, though it could have probably been done with something lighter than magic logs. I should have also taken pictures of the leprechaun mentioning that the lower "cut down" value does not apply to trees you grow yourself. Instead, I did so on my second ever trip to an Evil Tree...a Yew version. [hide=Rewards][/hide]
  25. I would imagine they're working on lots of stuff at the moment, but I found a thread about this very subject. http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?f=226&t=775338&hilit=grain+sacks%2C+mourning I think they were looking for good pictures, so perhaps they'll use it. Try and search for old posts on the subject first so you can post your pictures there (in one place for the crewbies) and I think they'll try and use the best pictures, even if there are already pictures in the thread!
