  1. If you can do all of Desert Treasure, you probably could do all of RfD. I think you should try Troll Stronghold first. Read a guide (there's a great one on this website!) and prepare accordingly. Always bring one-click teleports (if you can teleport out...some battles won't let you!), and if you have trouble with the battle in the quest, then you shouldn't try anything else. Fremennik Trials is one of those battles where you'll be almost totally vulnerable, but you actually don't have to beat the last guy. Shilo Village might be the toughest, only because of the long-drawn out nature of the quest. Still, level 68 combat...shouldn't be too much trouble. I think RfD will take you a little while, since you probably don't have all the requirements (quest or otherwise) to finish all the parts. In fact, you probably have work to do in every case. Don't rush through the quests...I'm finding out that unless you REALLY like the mini-games, you don't have much else after the quests to look forward to...unless you love grinding levels out.
  2. Since it's an item that can be bought in a shop (even though it's a specialty shop), it will sell on the G.E. Sometimes people will also buy them if they want to high alch them. Personally, if the item high alchs for more than the price of one nature rune, I think you should high alch it. Why not a nature + a fire rune? Every player should own a fire staff (or lava or steam) for high alching purposes. Seriously, why cheat yourself out of the magic experience?
  3. No, but there are plenty of guides out there that include each wave's monsters. Figure out what the HP is for each monster, how many of each monster appear during the first 62 waves...multiply. I'd do it, but I'm terrible at math and don't really feel like doing the work on that.
  4. yes... lol fixed I see you changed the title! As I mentioned, hopefully they are already working on it from when I posted on it.
  5. Yes, but since original messages can be edited, a person quoting can mimic an inappropriate post. I'm not saying this is one of those cases, but I think I have every right to be concerned. Take it easy champ.
  6. Maggie has no new info. I will look around north Rimmington for Wendy, I suppose. Lottie won't let me move anything next to Betty's shop. I know about the guide at the end of the Swept Away quest. I couldn't find Wendy to start moving the creatures in the cage again. Perhaps the guide needs an update to reflect the fact that the caravan has moved, but Wendy has not? EDIT: She is near the crossroads south of Falador (the crossroads closest to the Crafting Guild). You must talk with her to start the side-quest, but you don't need a cat.
  7. Did you mean the Slayer guide? If so, they might be working on it. viewtopic.php?f=186&t=780561
  8. That's Maggie...I'm talking about Wendy, her assistant. That's who you're supposed to give the unguent to, right?
  9. Dude...not cool...you shouldn't edit people's quotes.
  10. I was wondering if anyone has tried changing their cat purple since the quest was moved from F2P to P2P and over near the Legend's Guild. I couldn't find Wendy.
  11. If you are at level 56, I believe you can use the wilderness course. That's your best bet, probably...or maybe the Agility Pyramid. Don't waste your time on that penguin agility course. It's slow, not that great for experience, and from my recollection, my HP didn't last long. With the agility pyramid, you can even get paid for the trip. For that one, take your robes and a bunch of waterskins (there are even better setups, but probably not at your levels if you're using the penguin course).
  12. If it's dramen staff, the same way you did the first time, but if you're going back, cut a bunch of extra branches, make all but two into dramen staffs and save the other two for creme brulee supreme which you need for Recipe For Disaster later on in your travels. That was the worst part of that part of the quest for me...having to go back!
  13. Almost anyone can beat those things if you have the right kinds of weapons. Daggers or ranging seem to be best. I don't even use food or prayer when they're assigned. Depending on your levels and your completed quests, you could go with a bunch of set-ups and access the cavern a couple of different ways. I sometimes go through Dorgesh-Kaan to get there (need a lightsource instead of a rope, but don't have to bring water or a dramen/lunar staff), but the well near the fairy ring is fine, too. If you have it, the dagger you get from the Contact! quest is fantastic, especially if poisoned. Personally, I suit up in my best ranging gear and take some of my cheaper arrows and use the "line-up method" in order to make the task go quicker. As for banking, drop most of their stuff...like waterskins (unless you need them) or high alch. I usually pick up everything that I can...I don't mind taking trips to the bank, even for lots of waterskins. You might be surprised how quickly the task goes!
  14. As a rule, remove things you put in that aren't construction items. For instance...if you have a costume room, remove the items in each box, wardrobe, rack, etc. BEFORE you remove the item storing it, then remove the item (so you can keep track of what is empty and what needs attention), then after the room is empty, remove the room. The same goes for things like the Quest and Skill rooms...it's better safe than sorry. Make sure you rotate the game camera in order to make sure you take everything off the walls like an amulet of glory, silverlight or darklight or excalibur or a shield or cape. You will lose any "artwork" or maps or charts or runes in a rune display case. Incidentally, there is a web-site out there (that I shall not name) which has a construction planner...I used it to set up a plan for me that makes the most out of the rooms right off the entrance and puts lesser used rooms further out.
  15. Complete the Wolf Whistle quest...non-game playing stuff might include figuring out which requirements you need to increase to unlock a quest which will allow you to access a new area or new skill training spot...or even the achievement diaries.
  16. I'm sorry that I didn't see yours first...I might have bumped your original post. It turns out that this quest may in fact have multiple different scenarios. We should either post all possible options or post more generic clues, since answering wrong doesn't really affect you (other than having to re-answer). From the sound of it, The Gnome's Promise is one of their ships and The Reaver is the Customs' "tub" that "gave a good account" and sunk The Saucy Wench.
  17. That's what my comment above says! Were you seconding my motion? :)
  18. Another week of Penguin Hide & Seek, another points cash in, another Smithing level! Finally, access to Rocking Out (which I promptly set about finishing). During Rocking Out, I used the guides here on Tip.It. I once again encountered a problem I've had before, namely that sometimes the guide creators leave parts out claiming to be preserving a measure of surprise and enjoyment for the users. The problem I have with that claim is that people using the guides clearly shouldn't be using them if they want to keep that measure of surprise. I'd much rather have a clearly spelled out guide to use, in the event I need to use it. I haven't used guides for every quest, but this time, it seemed complex enough to warrant completing it without missing anything. I ran into a big problem when I had to bank all my items...my bank is pretty well-stocked, so I had to consolidate some of the items, such as all unused ore, soft clay, and soda ash and sand. That freed up enough space to bank my items in order to move on in the quest. I don't want to spend too much time discussing it, because it's clearly not worth it! I'm almost finished with the remaining quests. In fact, I started looking for more things to do and found some...which kind of sucks. It turns out that some of my goals weren't lofty enough. I started looking through all my achievement diaries and taking notes. Some of my least favorite skills to train will have to be 'upped' in order to take advantage of the best rewards. I spent most of my evening updating this blog, my notes, and thinking of ways to avoid facing reality. Interestingly enough, I also found out that some of the Achievement Diary information on the Tip.It website is inconsistent. Some quests were left out, presumably because they were easy, but then in other places, quests were included. I don't have the time or the inclination to discuss exactly which ones, but I think Rune Mysteries and Wolf Whistle were two of them, and some items were left off, too. Like I said, I'm not going to lose sleep over it. I'm already losing enough writing this entry! Which achievement diary tasks do I have left? I'm so glad you asked! [hide=Ardougne Achievement Diary - Elite Tasks]* Catch a manta ray in the Fishing Trawler minigame (81 Fishing) * Have an abyssal titan familiar hold essence for you, while runecrafting at Ourania Altar (93 Summoning, Abyssal titan familar, 1 Pure essence) * Attempt to picklock the door to the basement in Yanille Agility Dungeon (83 Thieving, locpick) * Remove pure essence from a giant pouch at Ourania Altar (75 Runecrafting, Giant pouch, 1 Pure essence) * Make a rune crossbow yourself, from scratch, performing each step within either Witchaven or Yanille (91 Smithing, 69 Fletching, Runite bar, Yew log, raw meat, knife, hammer)[/hide]
  19. How odd...I was just checking on this today to make a note of it! I think it's also missing the different colors of the naval gear. I know it's listed (as a generic Trouble Brewing Gear mention), but the Castle Wars colors "rotate" or "cycle" so perhaps those different colors of gear could be done as well?
  20. Step 2 was a little vague and confusing. I decided to take pictures of the order of dialogue. In order to take pictures I had to get out of the dialogue. SO...he first asks you who you are, you should choose the "mighty pirate" option. If you make a mistake (on purpose or otherwise) during the dialogue, he picks up where you last chose correctly. The following is a suggested alteration to the second part: 2. Wearing full pirate clothing (bandana, stripy shirt, leggings, and boots), head to Rimmington and speak to the Customs Sergeant in the office. When he asks who you are, say you are a mighty pirate. When he talks about The Saucy Wench, ask him if it's a trick because you know the ship was sunk. He'll comment about The Reaver taking it down. Tell him that the ship gave a good account against the Customs tub. He'll decide to arrest you. For step three, it mentions banking everything in the Customs Lockers. I think a mention in the "required/suggested" section that appears between steps 1 and 2 about having at least 5 open bank spaces should be included. Why five? One for each piece of clothing and one for the Book o' Piracy. You need even more room later on when you have to return to the island to get the brooch. At least four more spaces for the four marks, if you do the tasks in that order. If you DON'T do it in that order, you COULD talk to Cap'n Izzy No Beard FIRST and get his mark first and save space. Otherwise, you need more space. Since mine is full, I needed to get rid of some temporary space savers in order to have the room. If people get other dialogue now, then it's possible that the choices are random (I had no mention of a Gnome's Promise). Otherwise, perhaps the choices have been changed. I just thought it would be useful. [hide=Rocking Out Customs Officer Dialogue] [/hide]
  21. The only thing those potions are really good for are, say, accessing the guild if you need those extra levels or getting a couple of levels for just a couple of fish. It won't really help you power-fishing, but I DID use them a few times when I was close to level 70 in order to get caviar for barbarian potions I wanted to make. You COULD use them to give you some extra levels to make fishing quicker, but that boost is so minimal it really isn't worth it.
  22. Another week, another trip to the Tears of Guthix mini-game, another Summoning level. I'm starting to think that it might be a long time before any other skill gets points from my weekly trip underneath the Lumbridge Swamps! This week's quest completion is TBD. After completing Back To My Roots, I realized that I don't really have a clear goal for quest completion this week. Some of the quests remaining are still a little difficult. I think Haunted Mine might be easier if I bring a Crystal Bow down to fight the final boss. Dream Mentor's triple threat scares me. The Path of Glouprie seems tough because I've gone down to the Sewer Slayer Dungeon and faced those Warped Terrorbids...tough! Defender of Varrock is a possibility, but I think it might be the second or third to last quest to complete before While Guthix Sleeps (along with Summer's End) in order to have a nice continuous quest storyline. Desert Treasure might be next, if for no other reason than to unlock Recipe For Disaster's final battles, but of course, there's also the new spellbook I'm eager to try out (and a portal to focus in my POH)!. I think Rocking Out might become available this week if I use my Penguin Hide & Seek points on Smithing, which I most probably will. You just can't go wrong with a quest that doesn't require killing tough enemies! I managed to sort out a bunch of different side-quests, one-time only bonuses, and daily repeatable tasks. I have completed quite a few, but some still remain. Which ones? I'm so glad you asked: [hide=Music to unlock 646/692] Adorno I - Dungeoneering Adorno II - Dungeoneering Adorno III - Dungeoneering Adorno IV - Dungeoneering Adorno V - Dungeoneering Adorno VI - Dungeoneering Adorno VII - Dungeoneering Adorno VIII - Dungeoneering Adorno IX - Dungeoneering Adorno X - Dungeoneering Bal'lak the Pummeller Battle of Souls - Nomad's Requiem quest Bulwark Beast - Dungeoneering Desolo I - Dungeoneering Desolo II - Dungeoneering Desolo III - Dungeoneering Desolo IV - Dungeoneering Desolo V - Dungeoneering Desolo VI - Dungeoneering Desolo VII - Dungeoneering Desolo VIII - Dungeoneering Desolo IX - Dungeoneering Desolo X - Dungeoneering Divine Skinweaver - Dungeoneering Glacialis I - Dungeoneering Glacialis II - Dungeoneering Glacialis III - Dungeoneering Glacialis V - Dungeoneering Glacialis VI - Dungeoneering Glacialis VII - Dungeoneering Gluttonous Behemoth - Dungeoneering Har'Lakk the Riftsplitter - Dungeoneering Hobgoblin Geomancer - Dungeoneering Icy Bones - Dungeoneering Lexicus Runewright - Dungeoneering Luminescent Icefiend - Dungeoneering Night-gazer Khighorahk - Dungeoneering Pirates of Penance - Barbarian Assault minigame Plane-freezer Lakhrahnaz - Dungeoneering Rammernaut - Dungeoneering Sagittare - Dungeoneering Shadow Forger Ihlakhizan - Dungeoneering Stomp - Dungeoneering Temple Desecrated - While Guthix Sleeps quest To'Kash the Bloodchiller - Dungeoneering Unholy Cursebearer - Dungeoneering [/hide] [hide=Daily Repeatables]Back To My Roots - Wild Jade Vine What Lies Below - Defeating Bork In Pyre Need - Phoenix Lair[/hide] [hide=Distractions & Diversions]Evil Trees Shooting Stars[/hide] [hide=Once a Week]Balthazar Beauregard's Big Top Bonanza Familiarisation Odd Old Man's Skeletal Horror Penguin Hide & Seek Tears of Guthix[/hide] [hide=One and Done Tasks]All Fired Up - 16 beacons Barbarian Training - Pyreship/chewed bones Barbarian Training - My Diary (9/26) Champion Scroll - Aberrant Spectre Champion Scroll - Banshee Champion Scroll - Earth Warrior Champion Scroll - Ghoul Champion Scroll - Giant Champion Scroll - Goblin Champion Scroll - Hobgoblin Champion Scroll - Imp Champion Scroll - Jogre Champion Scroll - Mummy Champion Scroll - Skeleton Champion Scroll - Zombie Champion of Champions - Glophren Champion of Champions - Leon D'Cour Fairytale Part III - ALP mushroom cache (85 Herblore) Fairytale Part III - DIP campfire (85 Firemaking) Fairytale Part III - DIP Mos' le Harmless bridge Fairytale Part III - CLR Agility shortcut Fairytale Part III - Tooth pet Fight Caves - Fire cape Swept Away - Kardia's Broom Enchantment (93 Magic)[/hide] Since I've got a lot of work to do before I'm eligible for all of the rewards, I don't feel like I'm in a rush to complete it all...which is a relief! It also has the unfortunate side-effect of making playing the game a little less urgent...and interesting. I'm a little sad about it. To be honest, at first, the game was so addicting because so much of the content remained to be unlocked. With the recent lack of interesting updates, less of the unlocked content seems desirable...because there's less of it! I wish they'd concentrate on some more higher level quest releases, but it looks like small updates are the way to go (and they're not even updating some of the things I think would make the game much more accessible and interesting for some of the longer playing members). As a matter of fact, a recent post by one of the Jagex higher-ups seems to indicate that even LESS content will be released because they don't want to break promises. Now that my game experiences for the week are out of the way, I'd like to take the time to thank my readers, especially those who have posted nice or helpful or encouraging words for me! Far from being uncomfortable with Tip.It Crew members taking a look at my stuff....I'm flattered! I still feel that the previously mentioned issues involving my unsolicited help could have been handled differently, but I don't really hold grudges. I think visiting and commenting pleasantly is a nice 'olive branch', even if it wasn't and isn't intended to be one. As voracious a reader as I am, I never thought to look up the official Knowledge Base articles on some of those daily tasks I undertake. It's interesting to see what tactics other people use to play the game, but I think using Penguin Hide & Seek points on non-combat and other non-easily trained skills is wisest. I stopped doing the weekly circus activities, though it might be wise for me to at least take part in some of the events, especially if it means free Agility experience. It certainly wouldn't be for the outfits, since I have every piece of gear and have had it all for quite some time. I just need to look for a great guide somewhere that details how to get the most experience rather than performance points for each event. Anyone have any ideas? Battlestaves are certainly one of the biggest pains in the rear. I also dislike visiting Arhein in Catherby by the docks each day. If only he offered my those pineapples and seaweed in noted form! I have been slacking on trips to get sand and sometimes let my Kingdom go a couple of days before checking it. I haven't had the courage to chase after Surok, plant the Jade Vine, or head back to face the Phoenix. I chased Shooting Stars like crazy when they first came out, but haven't been back in a long time and probably won't until I get a better telescope in my POH. I can't imagine the Evil Tree will be a big draw after the initial few days of it's release, whenever that happens to be. All of these are symptoms of the bigger problem RuneScape faces with me...it's just getting harder to stay interested and grind through the small stuff. Now I have to decide if I want to slay some Bloodvelds to continue earning Slayer points or work toward the completion of some of the Achievement Diaries.
  23. As in all quests, if there is a quest requirement to start it (say, for Desert Treasure), you must COMPLETE all the quests (which is why it's a requirement!). You don't have to FINISH Desert Treasure to get the ring, but to get the ring, you have to have all the requirements of the Desert Treasure quest (inc. the completed prerequisite quests).
  24. I would recommend Mourning's End - Part 2, then Dealing with Scabaras, then Summer's End, then Dream Mentor, then WGS. The first two could be done in either order...the MEP2 is one of the longer ones, and just a pain in the rear, so that's why I suggested getting it done first. If you're already doing DwS, then that's fine.
