poison ivy and gloves
Poison Ivy bushes have been "undiseasable" for longer than 2 or 3 months, but you don't need to wear gloves to pick them. Only nightshade posions when picking and Klank's gauntlet's do work (someone said gauntlets don't). If you need proof that they don't need to be paid for, click on the entry under bushes in your skills page or try to "pay" the farmer next to the patch.

Temporary lack of penguins
You can store up to 50 points, and can only earn a maximum of 15 per week. ya i know, did that have anything to do with what i was saying? ;) I think it was more of a reply to me. I didn't ever realize you could turn in multiple times. From now on, I've got to do a little math to see how many penguin points I should trade in before the level up, then go back out after trading those points in, find the rest and get more out of the points (since it multiplies based on levels) I could even use them to "top" off some skills close to levelling up.
-
Temporary lack of penguins
It was just that there was 1 peng that you could keep spying on and get unlimited amount of points to trade in. and yes, those people better get banned -.- I still don't understand...the points could accumulate over 50 so people were trading in 100s of points or something? Isn't there a 50 point cap? Or could you trade in multiple times? no, they would collect 50, then go trade them in for xp.....go back get 50 more....trade them in.....ect... Isn't there a one trade-in per week limit? If not, I could have been using my points more wisely all along?

Temporary lack of penguins
Can someone please explain what the glitch was? No one seems to be saying what it is? I think it would be interesting to hear about it, especially if it were something accidental that others could be told to avoid. I heard that people were getting 99 skills from it...I would be really mad if they were somehow allowed to keep those stats.

Farming Route
Farming runs are a topic of hot debate...sometimes people think of it the way people talk about religion and politics! I would say cut out the berry patches, because they're not really near the other stuff. Personally, I'd just do trees...fruit and wood. Wear boots of lightness, explorer's ring, spotted/spottier cape, amulet of glory, combat bracelet, seer's headband...bring along fremmenik boots, enchanted lyre, ring of dueling, necklace of skills, necklace of games, enchanted broom, ectophial, wc axe, lunar/dramen staff, and either wield a bow (if you can barbarian firemake) or bring a tinderbox, in case you have too many logs and have to get rid of them. You never have to have all those things at the same time, but I take them out as needed when I bank. Always note your payments. I start at Oo'glog, broom to al kharid, pick the spines on the cactus, glider to tree, glider to catherby, farming run there including fruit tree, bank, run through tunnel and cut/plant tree, take balloon to grand tree (since I plant magics), fruit tree, cut/plant tree near bank, bank, tree teleport to gnome village, follow gnome out of maze, fruit tree, either run to fairy ring (if it takes too long and I need to re-dip in the pool) or go back through maze, teleport to grand exchange and cut/plant tree in varrock near castle. Explorer ring to cabbage patch, farm there (and if necessary, Draynor mansion...if you do, bring gloves so you can pick the nightshade), cabbage tele again (saves time!) and run into falador to bank and cut/plant wood tree. Home tele and bring watering can if you need to to fill in the fountains, run to tree patch behind castle. Run back to Lumbridge and across bridge, take canoe to champions, farm the hops and pick berries, take the canoe to edgeville. Bank in edgeville or at G.E. if you can use the shortcut. Tele to fishing guild or ranging guild for ardougne. If needed, recharge teles at the Legend's guild and bank after farming run there. Head to seer's for your daily flax notes and broom back to al kharid. Some of the cactus spines should have regrown (they are good money, so you want to do that a couple of times, since they regrow fast). Glider to tree, glider to feldip and if needed, recharge run. If not, you can use the opportunity to make your daily trip to MTK's coffers or teleport to Trollheim for the disease free herb patch. Ectophial to port p, farm and top off your watering can if you have to...fairy ring either to canifis (if you have the spores for mushrooms) or straight to the place near shilo village. Run up for the calquat tree (and replant if you possibly can!) and continue north to the pineapples and the fruit tree patch. If you brought your charos ring, you can take a free boat trip to ardougne to bank OR put your house in brimhaven, walk in, glory tele (on your wall) to edgeville. Putting berries in there really stretches your run potential. Use whatever summon you can, but if you are high enough, use ent for better yields. You can always plant willows and trim branches for new pouches!

Am I cursed...?
I did it and got all the pieces without ever getting more than two of each. It's random. I chose the easiest route with the toughest-to-protect (weakest) follower. I would average a piece of clothing every three trips (that's back and forth). Sometimes I made it through without even having one event. Sometimes I had three or four. You COULD try "running" from the first event you come across, which would make you have to have more events (I think). I actually like the minigame. A couple of tips would be to make sure you load up on druid pouches, because those ghasts seem to take three or four of those pouches when you encounter them and you can't advance until you beat them. If you can't seem to get them to appear, you can "use" the pouch on them to make them attackable. For the nail beasts, make sure you only attack one at a time...in every case, make sure to advance slowly. Bring a snelm or the snails will decimate you...and again, walk slowly and make sure you take all the "heat" for your follower. I also made sure that I stayed as long as I could at each bridge event...if you cross the bridge and then go back over, you may get more lumberjacks to appear and be able to kill them. They WON'T drop another piece that trip, but I felt like it might be tied to a counter, so I tried to kill as many as I could each trip. You can buy snails in Burgh de Rott to top off your follower food if you need to...or just kill them when you top off your prayer at the Nature Grotto (because I used prayer every other trip or so). One more tip...when you have to face the challenge to kill snails and feed the sick campers, kill as many snails as you can before lighting the fire to cook and feed them...(you might even use a piece of your own personal food if you have to)...then always feed from the sickest to the healthiest...

Ok, f2p has TB... now whats the cheapest way to 85 mag, lol
I don't know what the price of body runes are right now, but you could try buying a mud battlestaff and body runes, then using the non-attack support spells that use water and earth runes. I don't know if this is possible if you are F2P. It certainly isn't the most fun. Tons of law runes and an air staff will get you cammy teles...again, F2P prohibitive.

Great Brain Robbery
There's a separate thread that lists another battle option for Barrelchest (a much easier one, it turns out)...instead of melee, it involves ranging him. If you haven't already finished the quest, I'd recommend trying the ranging over any melee method!

Great Brain Robbery Safespot
My gear was black d-hide chaps, black d'hide [bleep]y vambs, blessed zammu d'hide body, crystal bow full, snakeskin boots, and of course, the fishbowl helmet and the diving apparatus (in the helm and cape spots). I also hit 10s and higher almost every hit...with 70 range. As previously mentioned, I wasn't even attacked. He stood there and died.

SportsGuy's blog -> Membership, the 65+ plateau, and beyond
Another week of Tears of Guthix, another free summoning level. I still don't have anything very useful as far as summoning ability, but I do like the free experience. In just a few weeks, however, I think the ToG mini-game will start putting points into something else (if I don't run out of quests first)! This week I finally killed off the remainder of the bronze dragons in my slayer task. A trip back to Chaldear meant a slayer task of elves and plenty of unenchanted Tiny Elf Crystals. After completing that task, I was given 163 Jungle Horrors. This made my weekly quest choice easy. I would do The Great Brain Robbery. I had started this quest, but never advanced past the beginning stages because I felt like the rewards were lowly enough to save it for a time when I'd need quest points in order to use Tears of Guthix each week. The quest itself went quickly and relatively painlessly, since I was able to use a ranging safe spot that Tip.It does not recommend...which brings me to this week's disappointment. I've wasted great amounts of free time patrolling the Help & Advice and Website Updates & Corrections forums. I say wasted, because it seems that to some, my help is unwanted. It certainly wasn't asked for, but I think my time and my comments and updates have been of great use to this site. I should be clear...I never asked for ANYTHING. I felt it was a way to pay the community back for helping me clear some tough obstacles and get the most out of my playing time and membership fees (of late). There have been a couple of Tip.It crew members that have been polite and helpful, but apparently, there are a few that have complained that I'm too active. What a shame. I've always found it unusual that some people feel threatened by unsolicited help...even polite and truly knowledgeable help. I never misrepresented myself. I only took it upon myself to help other forum users find correct information or redirect their comments and suggestions as it had been done to me early in my time on the forums. At any rate, my feelings are hurt, but I will honor the wishes of the administrators of the forum. Far from being a "woe is me" tale, I'm just blogging about this week's events, of which this development is included. I happen to disagree with some of the policies and choices made, but this is not the 'forum' for that! I advanced a combat level and a slayer level and hope to get more out of this week than just another smithing level. Unexpectedly, I got just that. For example, I fought the jungle horrors and got plenty of drops: [hide=Drop log, 163 Jungle Horrors]31 iron ore (noted) 2 ranarr leaf 5 iron spears 40 potato seeds 5 cabbage seeds 85 nature rune 5 death runes 4 gold charms 28 green charms 6 crimson charms 19 iron warhammer 26 big bones 1 mahogany logs 7 onion seeds 2 guam leafs 24 teak logs (noted) 19 pineapples (noted) 1 tarromin leaf 2 iron kiteshields 20 iron javelins 1 nature talisman 1 harralander leaf 1 clue scroll 1 dwarf weed[/hide] While high alching some of the drops in the Mos Le'Harmless bank, I reached a nice milestone: [hide=Level 74 Magic and Total Level 1600][/hide] Next week, barring a new quest addition by Jagex, I will probably try to finish Desert Treasure or Dream Mentor, for the additional spells. If I make it to 59 slayer by then, perhaps Back To My Roots.

This is more of a suggestion but...
I think that's how it appears in-game, which is why they have it that way. The search function for the items is usually how I try to find things.

Quest Calculator
I vote against that! I would RATHER have the individual parts listed and wrong notes than have to have the wrong number of quest points until I finish all of the RFD sub-quests. It seems to me that those people having problems like that (and myself) could make do until they de-select one or select one more quest or in my case, just know that I can in fact complete the Great Brain Robbery (which I just have done in order to remedy the situation for myself). If you rip out that code, then I'll have ANOTHER problem, one bigger than the first one, at least IMO. Perhaps opening up this to some programming help (definitely not me! I'm not a coder) would get a suitable result. In any other case, I think it is in fact worth the time spent to get it right...for many reasons. Quests are one of the biggest reasons people use the site and the quest calculator is one of the main reasons people like me chose this site over some others. Please reconsider the rip-out.

Minor corrections to seers diary guide
That's how I did it...noted shortbow. That task is crossed out on my list, but I wouldn't have any clue why it worked for me and not for someone else.

Great Brain Robbery Safespot
I REALLY think the guide needs to be updated and changed to reflect this. I used the safespot and didn't get hit...not one time. I decimated him. In fact, it's not just the best or easiest way to do this quest...it should be the only recommended way. I think daring members to try and melee him would be irresponsible! I equipped myself with the diving helmet and breathing apparatus, but every other spot had a ranging boost. I used a crystal bow and didn't have to pick up arrows or anything. I think that part of the quest should be changed to something like: In short, +1 to this method. I've seen it elsewhere, I know it's been suggested before (perhaps even on this forum), but it's so unbelievably easy this way I think a change is warranted. A moderator or crewbie should feel free to delete this line and everything below it once the update has been received. I realize none of us have a "proof" shot, but if you want one showing where it is: [hide=Other website's picture showing safespot DO NOT USE on Tip.It! Reference only!][/hide]

Slayer Guide
While looking at the Slayer skill guide, I noticed that the In Pyre Need's repeatable Phoenix Lair daily task has not been added. 500 Slayer experience everyday (5000 the first time, of course).

Pyrelord
Still, you can "use" the logs on the pyrelord but it doesn't allow you to create fires above your level...I don't see a difference. The level boost doesn't come from using the logs on the pyrelord, you actually get it at all times while the pyrelord is alive, I believe. I mean, I don't see what the point of a measley 3 level INVISIBLE boost is...especially in firemaking, but in anything. You don't catch fish THAT much faster and you don't make fire that much quicker....or longer.

best way to do ectofundus?
This is what I do: Charge run at Oo'glog. Outfit in lightest gear, ring of dueling (8), ectophial, and bones/pots. Use ectophial, fill it, run upstairs and grind bones into the pots. Tele to CW and repeat until all bones are ground into pots. Re-charge run in Oo'glog if needed (if there are enough bones left to make it worth it). Charge run at Oo'glog. Instead of bones and pots, fill inventory with empty buckets. Same kind of deal. Empty ecotophial, then fill it...run down fill buckets, CW tele, trade out full buckets for empty until the numbers match. Re-charge run as necessary. Wear ghostspeak (just a personal preference)...take equal number of buckets and pots into inventory. I usually just take the limit before you have to speak to a ghost disciple to get the tokens, but if you have a large number you may just take 13 of each. Ectophial, fill it, pray, collect tokens, teleport to CW, repeat.

Closest iron mine to a bank *F2P*
I don't know if it's the quickest, but usually the port khazard mines...bank at the deposit box or yanille (kind of equally distant)
