  1. melee is over powered. full stop. mage is under powered. fullstop. yes, sometimes melee will fail or mage rule. but over all, and in the major things. melee is too strong and mage too weak. i think jagex should simply totaly reset the stats and armour of most items in rs and shut down dangours pvp for a week after (time for people to get used to it).
  2. My point was if you die and lose your rapier you need something else in your bank to slash that web. Keeping a whip in my bank saved mine, because otherwise I would have forgotten about that web. If you die and lose your rapier on a wild clue, you obviously won't have that rapier to slash a web. Having a slash weapon stuck in your gravestone does zero good. Therefore, it would be worth it to keep a whip in your bank. It saved me from having to get another 200k tokens. So as far as I am concerned, having a whip around for that purpose was totally worth it. uhm...knives, dds, claws? he sayd that without the whip, he would of fogot the web was there at all (or something like that) anyway, as for the question in the first place... who the &%$# would use a chaotic rapiure in the wild for clues? i can kill any of them in a few seconds with dd's let alone a whip.
  3. Sometimes I actually do that.... Really as I slowly work to 85 dung and my first chaotic i'm wondering if i should get a crapier or a ccrossbow. I would most likley use the cbow for arma or the crapier for slayer. I'm leaning to the rapier even though i don't have 80 attack yet. Any advice? Rapier, mainly because it has a lot more uses and is harder to lose. Cbow has a really low protect value. Anyway, I'm on my 4th chaotic and I'm still trying to decide between: CSTAFF CLS FKS CKS Suggestions? I'll most likely get staff. I already have rapier/maul/cbow Well as new dungeoneering rewards are going to come out soon with the final floors, i think you should hold on to your tokens if you have enough for a chaotic no need to hold them now, not the best rewards :/ anyway, i dont boss hunt. at least not yet. should i sell my whip and get the rapiure or get the long (and maybe sell my whip)?
  4. me: "hello, like my new pet?" other human: *stares at it for a while... runs away wondering if your going insaine* yes, that would the perfect irl pet. also, besides eyes of newt, it aparently likes eyelashes and toenail clippings. so i guess finding it some food should not be TOO hard. a few thinsg in wondeirng back about rs. i know that smuggler must be good. but THAT good?! just imagen walking around with one and going to rekela... people would freak out XD
  5. tbh some of the new rewards kinda fail. the zealot thingie is a prayer item with -8 prayer, and it does not work with any good prayers (chivalry/pieity, many curses, every one bought from dunge... ironic) the burry = prayer necklaces dont give much prayer at all. (quick note, the third version is a lot more exspensove then the second version, but the second one has allmost the same bone-coverage. why burrys dragon/frost dragon bones anyway?!) combine with with bone crsuher, and i can see places like draganoths in chaos tunels (one down every 5 seconds or so, prayer required allways) where it becomes usefull. but then its just moveing the cost of prayer pots to the cost of time by haveing a weaker necklace = less dps. and any monster weak enough to drop enough bones to keep you prayer running without prayer pots most likely does not need prayer (then again, you could use stat boosting prayers, but that stratching its usefullness) i bet someone will find a good use for these, but i wont. although on the other hand, the scroll of cleansing is epic. a 10% saveing on herb cost (roughly 7% saveing on herlore overall?) + 12.5% chanse of makeing a pot twise as past = awesome. not to mention its only 20k tokens (not small i guess, but not A LOT!) surge box is alrite. saveing inventory space can be usefull. thats my vews, nuthing more or less.
  6. you couldent of picked a wrose time to diapear for to years lol. there has been the most amount of change in, err, every posibly lolz. first thigs first, the big things. HP skill is gone. you now have "contitution". hippoints are "life points" and ALL damage and hp are 10x what thay where. ao hiting a goblin for a 5 now does 50 (well, there hp changed to something like 37) this means if you where to hit a, say... 10.7 you would of delt 10 damage, now you deal 107. so all damage, over the long run, is very slightly higher. a new skill some out, called dungeeonereing (dunge, dung, dg). its max level is NOT 99, but rather 120. its like a minigame (infact i bet you will come acros someone complaining ahbout that... still... -.-) but way more complex. its nuthing like any other skill in rs. oh and rewards (also unlike anything in rs) are epicly epicness of epic. chaotic weapons (main member reward) have stats from anything to a godsword of stereoids to a whip on stereoids. chaotic rapire (cr) is the curent fav, its the whip on stereoids. chaotic longsword (cls) is dort of an inbetween. chaotic maul (cm) is the godsword like one. its stats are in the 160's. i could go on about dunge for a while, but i will just put the basicis and let you find the rest your self. its all set in one place near, but not in, the wildy. you do instanced (aka, other players cant see you) dungeons with everything from boss fights to level 125 prayer level doors (skill boost used obviusly) you cant take any armour, weapon, or the like in to the dungeon. yes thats rite, its like stealing creation. make everything your self. the rewards, besdies chaotic and gravite(f2p weaker version of chaotic) are mostly usefull, but never required, skill sided helpers. one makes you use less bars when smithing. one makse you use les seeds. one acts an a staff of water in the shield slot alowing 3 elements or just air+water elements to be infinte at once. i shal stop on dunge b4 i go on 2 long. many skills have goten high end content, like slayer geting level 92 (i think) slayer level required monster. wood cuting geting new trees (much faster xp, worse money), and stuff like that. quests have gone mad a bit, lets just say jagex is geting creative and are makeing things from void knight quests (3 of them now) to one about the wise old man's love life... yes you did read that last part rite. speaking of void knights, a void knight mini game (besdies pent control) has been relised, and imo, its MUCH faster points alowing reletively easy void knight armour. speaking of void knight armour, a new part has come out (a shield, "delecter"), and becouse you only need 4 parts to activate the efect, you can swap parts around! speaking of void knight armour again, the last void knight quest unlocks the ability to give void legs and top +4 prayer bonous each. combat triangle is trying reallllyyyyyy hard to rebalance its self. many minor graphics updates (look at your charicters face, it has EYES! *DUN DUN DUUNNNN*) more treaure trail rewayds, and a level 4 "elite" clue. one of the more useful rewards are elemental mystic staffs with a 6 prayer bonous. if you ever get a "strange rock" go to varrak musium and talk to the guys picking away at the rocks to find out more. or disable it if ya want. humans, houses, sheep, cows, goats and maybe other types of snimal have realistic sound efects now. castile wars is slightly difrent, the rewards are very difrent. thats all i can be botherd thinging about for now, gl with all your adventureing! \:D/
  7. yes im doing that quest. i am not up to the fineal boss fight, yet. all tips and advise on defeating her would be very helpfull. im planing to use a d spear, whip and rock tails. and all the other combat junk that goes without saying. (can i take a sumon? i know WOM wont follow me to the house but i did that part allredy) im level 109, my range level fails. so its melee or mage. how many prayer potions, at 74 prayer and 10ish prayer bonous, should i take? besdies the fire pit thingie, blood barrage and kicking me away, does she have any other attacks? also, how is progress saved? like, if i log out after killing half of the pit monsters, do i have to re kill them? do thay reset if i go outside the house? can i kill them all and then exit and bank for the boss fight? thanks a lot in advance.
  8. super heating requires the smithing level for whateva you would of smithed. f2p range should be given rune arrows and yew long/short bow. f2p mage should get wave spells and the next grade of bind/curse's. + level 40 mage level armour.
  9. i think this is a glitch not a punishment. if it is a punishment, then i dont really see any gain on jagex's behalf.
  10. 1 hex crast beats 5 seer helms. the only resons not to use it are a: your not mageing b: your useing void b: your not slaying.
  11. i think you missed the point, its not really a discussion thread. and im not talking about jagex REALLY doing this, just as a sopose what would hapen if thing. i did think about puting this in questionarys but i dident seam like a thread for that forum. so i put it here. it there is a better forum for this thread, im sorry for it not being there. :P well its obvius my thread is going nowhere :/ ok so yes i worded things baddly there... its just ment to be a thread for haveing fun not people complaining about its low discusion value. what i mean by "what would hapen if" is to get people to make up random stuff that could be fun. what the other poster implys is a discusion thread that has no discusion in it. all im trying to do is make a thread for people to have fun. if you want to talk about game balance and all that go to another thread.

  13. for thouse who dont know, at a point far in the past the "world gate" was open alowing travle from other worlds to runescape. one of thouse worlds was (most likely at least) earth, thus humans. what would the efects of the world gate oponing again? with airoplanes, machine guns, jet fighters, jetpacks, flatpacked houseing etc just think what the drawfs would think. "WTF, what created technoligy that advanced?!" have fun :P

  16. the day a got membership. i have my resons. the day i killed elvarg. so i can shove it in her face one last time. also show of my stack of green d hides :twisted: the day the ge came out. spesificly, not the day after the ge came out (that was not nice <_< ) the month i did shield of arav. becouse this time i know the that %&*$ im doing. and last, but most of all, the days when i could do all the intresting quests. ahh thouse where teh days. oh, and not free trade.

  18. It doesn't involve much "work". Like I said, simply increase the damage capability of these staffs. Battlestaves: 5% damage Mystic staves: 10% damage Ancient staff: 15% damage SOL: 20% damage Chaotic staff: 30% damage As for the talisman staff, give it 10 free teleports to the respective altar (any + zmi if it's omni), and to recharge it you must take it back to the Runecrafting guild (repair for free). There, simple fix ^^ If it were ok and not overpowering for them to have that %, why did Jagex not give them that in the first place, instead of something lower? yea, the numbers might be a bit high, point stands shouth. mystic staffs are a melee weapon not a mage weapon. ohhh, a wizard staff has a knob at the end!...
  19. i HATE that quest. i have done legends quest, got a whip etc but i still have not really finished that quest (lulwut). i still cant get the whole shield, and yet i saved the day with it in defender of varrac. odd... the idea is nice, its allright useing forms to find people, but its just painfull for anyone that the quest is aimed at (low/mis level f2p) :wall:
  20. you do realize that melee beats range, range beats mage and mage beats melee :wall: though I do agree with your point about the combat triangle not being needed unless you mean the > symbols as an arrow, then I'm the idiot. > means greater than... Melee is greater than range Range is greater than mage mage is greater than melee He did it right. but the core idea of melee-->range-->mage-->melee does not work very well now we can all be happy :P i would just like to mention, im not totaly with the idea of "no combat triangle", but i think it will grately help balance. both for now and future updates. even with the triangle staying where it is, each class is still to difrent for it to work. think about it melee: short range high and fast hits with few, but strong, side efects (special attack, poison etc) range: long range low/medium hits at medium speed(darts/knives are more of a training weapon then pvm/pvp) with very high accuracy, with fery few side efects (besdies bolt's) requires your armour to be range based as your attack power comes mostly from your armour, not you weapon. mage: exspensive long range with low hits at medium speed, comon and strong side efects (ICE BARRAGE! RAWR! :grin: ). requires low defence to be accurate. now thay all have things in comon, but man do thay have there Differences. its hard to balance the 3 styles when there so totaly difrent. in short: combat trianlge, not needed. combat classes, to hard to get right in there curent setup.
  21. 2 things. 1: you have 95 runecrafting (just saying). 2: sometimes we are forced to level a skill. i for one am training constuction for a few quests i want to do (nomand, love story etc) all he is saying is that if you want to train WC and FM, but hate training them. this is a very efective method. he may "hate" the skill, but by hes own words, he had fun doing this. i mean no harm or anything, its just that i think your the one "looking at the problem from the wrong point of view"
  22. no one can deny that range has its use. no one can deny mage has its use. no one can deny melee has its use. but overall, and i mean vs everything. melee > all. yes you can go to armadly and use range but not melee, yes you can fight draganoth mothers msotly with mage (4 elements vs 1 range and 1 melee). but that does not change that fact that without being a specal situation. melee owns allmost allwyas. highest hits in the game are melee, highest dps is melee, it goes on. yes, you can go on and on about things like I can't count the times I "outkilled" the other people at Steel Dragons (Kuradal's Dungeon) with Claws of Guthix while they were using at least extreme potions. but in the end, thats steel dragons, there are better monsters to kill. frost dragons. try mageing them! (not to mention claws of guthix is probably much more exspensive then melee) every class has its strength, every class has its weakness. every class has somewhere where it will rule allways. but in the end melee has the most strength's, the least weakness's and the most area's where it will rule always.
