  2. Here is a link to HJT. http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US ... hijackthis Sloter, thanks for catching that one. I appreciate it. ~D. V. Devnull Yup, no problem.
  3. Personally i know you said you can't afford another hard drive but i think that would be the best way to go. Just save up your $$.
  4. He is jsut throwing ideas out on the table. You should be thankful for every bit of advice you get. I would tend to say that it is probally not the problem but it doesn't hurt to check. What version of Firefox are you running? Have you tried disabling all add ons and then trying?

  6. In that case, try making sure your keyboard keys are not stuck while scrolling. (I get the impression that this is what is happening, that your modifier keys are getting stuck, causing what you're seeing, but I could be wrong.) ~D. V. Devnull I don't know about that. I guess it could be anything, he did jsut get nailed by a hurricane.
  7. I acually use to have a unix based server set up till i moved and got a new ISP(Hughes net which is satellite and has no bandwidth like cable did). Any how my old ISP blocked port 80 incoming so what you do is change the listening port on apache. So lets say i hosted a site off my IP with no domain and with the port number of 2578. The url would be http://my.ip.adress:2578.
  8. I never said it was horrible. You just asked if there was a way to make it better and i said i didn't know. Don't put words in my mouth :!:
  9. Could use camstudio which is free. You could get fraps which you have to pay for. There are ways of getting it which i can not disclose of here.
  10. Thanks for stating the obvious!
  11. Or it could be something else. Anyhow i would try this too.
  12. Lose limewire!
  13. I just hit the windows button in games to get to the desktop.
  14. He has an external modem. As that is the way it is for broadband. So it won't show up in device manager as it isn't part of the system. You could try the network adapters as that is what takes the cat5 cord from router/modem and puts it into your pc.
  15. um that stuff i dont know. ( sorry ) but it says wireless ADSL+wirless on thetopof the modem thingy. does that help? Ok it seems there combined. I personally would call your ISP then. They can better assist you than we can. I asked that because if you used a separate router alot of the time they won't help you.
  16. What router? Or is it built into your modem? If so what is your modems model and brand?
  17. Read this. How can we help with the information "Every 10 minutes my internet closes out on itself. Does anybody have an idea why, or how to fix it?". Your OS, Browser would at least be nice to know. Again thanks for the detailed information!
  18. Possibly in your appdata folder?
  19. Could do what sbrideau2000 or try restarting Firefox and creating a new session.
  20. *rofl*....*gets off floor* Yeah, what sloter said..and..uhh...what did you type this in? Just randomly, entering stuff into a textbox? Command prompt? On the desktop? Seriously, saying "I pressed a few keys, help" isn't really helpful. You need to add a lot more details if you expect any of us to help you....We aren't psychics, so a bit of help on your end would be just fantastic. Right on too forgot to ask that like where he typed it. I think people get so freaked out over nothing they forget to read this.
  21. I don't want to set a default OS, but I want to just select what OS I want to boot everytime I turn on my computer. If I were to install it on my computer on another hard drive, would it still 'break' my boot thing for vista? No, what would happen with a boot loader is a list of OS you have installed comes up you can set a default one or not set one. Then you use the arrows keys to select which OS and then hit enter and then it will boot to that OS. I know that, but If I try to install it on a separate drive, will it still give me that option? Yea you can still use a boot loader with 2 drives and have an OS on one drive and another OS on the other and it will still boot them.
  22. Actually nothing beats the Spybot S&D and the Ad-Aware combo :). Yea i agree with you there.
