  1. A facemask? are you serious?
  2. If it was a tempurature problem his computer would pry be shutting down it is was that hot. I do agree with you in the sense to set it on a hard surface or with moto on getting a cooling pad which i have and they keep the computer like 10 degrees cool.
  3. Doesn't make any of my computers burn and if it did i sure as hell wouldn't play it(i don't play it). Runescape isn't nearly as system intesive as some games, and won't be so demanding on hardware. Runescape isn't intensive. lol

  5. I have seemed to have experience with corrupt drivers on a laptop too. I will second this.
  6. How did i insult you? I just asked a question but it looks like i found the answer to my question.
  7. Might bee a boot loader problem. In Ubuntu go to terminal(Applications >> Accessories >> Terminal). In terminal type: sudo gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst That should bring a file up with a bunch of writing in it. Copy all the writing here to tif so i can read it. Also you didn't format over your windows partition did you? Do you have MSN, Skype, or AIM? If so could your PM yours it would go a little faster than posting everything here on TIF.
  8. You don't mount a swap to the root. The only thing you mount to the root is the actual partition for Ubuntu. After you make the swap make a ext3 partition for Ubuntu for the size of what ever you want Ubuntu to be and then in that drop down select /.
  9. Is this in full screen or resizeable mode or both?
  10. Saw that 2 people had made post over this so i did some googling and found this. Hope this helps. Reason: http://freeforum.avg.com/read.php?12,14 ... kpage=,sv= Fix: http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?t ... ;topicseen

  12. I really don't know to be honest with you i don't use AVG but, there was just another post yesterday about the same exact issue. viewtopic.php?f=45&t=757372
  13. Ok cool. What i said above should install Ubuntu right if you just want to leave Ubuntu on there. Post back letting us know how it goes.
  14. Do as i said above and to get into windows then use EasyBCD to rewrite your MBR.
  15. Just go though with the installer of Ubuntu and do custom partitioning in the Ubuntu setup. Make a 512MB to a 1GB swap partition then make a new partition for Ubuntu its self make it how ever big you want with your remaining space. Then click drop down for mount point for the partition and select /. This will put it at the root. Now you should be able to finish the installation. If you ever want to get rid of linux i would use EasyBCD to rewrite your windows MBR then delete the swap partition and Ubuntu partition.
  16. heh, no problem cause i am just sitting here doing nothing at the moment.
  17. Yes you could connect the device above to your laptop. You will first put your sata in that cast plug it in and what not, just follow the manual it should be straight forward. The plug the usb into your usb port on your laptop and it should show u as like another hard drive. You could even use this one if you wanted to. Just the one above has a nice little fan in it. Just make sure you get one with a use and one that is sata capable. You can browse all of them on newegg here.
  18. You could get something like this which will take a sata drive. Which i googled your hard drive and it is sata or atleast that is what google said.
  19. OS = Operating System? Sorry i'm not good with this stuff  My mum's getting my cousin to come over next week sometime now, so HOPEFULLY it'll be resolved \ it's sad, I can't really imagine playing runescape without disconnecting  Off topic: WOOT 2 gold medals for NZ \ bout time I say :P Correct on OS. Just a quick question, are you addicted to RuneScape?
  20. Umm it's ADSL so what modem are you referring to? Also i have tried turning the router off and rebooting it multiple times. Your modem is paired up with your router.
  21. Could plug it into another computer and do a network transfer although i don't know if you have another computer thats not a laptop to use though.
  22. Try power cycling your router and modem. To do this unplug the router and then the modem. Wait about 30 seconds and plug the modem in FIRST and the the router in after that. Make sure you wait for your modem to boot up all the way before you plug your router back in.
  23. Thanks for this. I agree i use camstudio all the time and it is way better than hypercam.
  24. Have you tried a BIOS update?
