Hmm... to be honest i don't know that you should take it even this far but reinstall the OS. You could have had it reinstalled by now and back online isntead of sitting here still fighting with the problem.

I don't know if it needs to be taken this far but you could do a system restore to when it last worked and see if that fixes it.

That is what i am wondering if his fans are jammed or the the dust in there is so great it is restricting air flow. Especially if it is a laptop if it is set on blanket/pillow or anything that stop airflow could also be causing it.

Is it just complete turn off or does your OS do a normal shut down? Is this a laptop or a desktop?

If your talking about downgrading why not try completely uninstalling it and trying?

This could be worst case scenario but i will though it out there. As sbrideau2000 it is not good at all to unplug your computer. It is possible your corrupted your CMOS which is giving you your therma censors failing and i know i am sound like someone right now but i will leave his name anonymous. It could also be your fans are jammed with dust and that is causing the noise as laptops are big dust collectors. I would check the fans first off and clean them. If you decide to do it post back on what you find.

I would assume because so many people are rendering those graphics at one time off the server.

Partition your disk and then install Ubuntus Boot Loader(GRUB) and that will popup and menu when your computer starts up where you can select between OSs.
