  1. Oooh, that strawberry looked awsome.
  2. Bump. Anyone who can help, please do
  3. where am i?
  4. Both pretty nice fractals in terms of shape, but the quality isn't that great and they're both a little washed out.
  5. Do you have old pictures of monsters? Sorry, but that misplaced got makes me cringe.
  6. what just happened?
  7. Thanks. I'll look forward to that. Not only are gold and silver bars lighter than the ores, but so are all other bars, compared to the weight of all the ores combined. And yes, I did already have it. Thanks though :
  8. Bots don't serve to make good in any way. One of the coolest parts of Runescape is the satisfaction you get when you gain a level. Not so with bots.
  9. Ouch.. That must have been annoying
  10. A good feeling that you've helped contribute to the advancement of the human race. : And it some cases, like the program mentioned above, cash rewards.
  11. I found a $20 at the bottom of the diving pool \
  12. nice, but you spelled altar wrong every time.
  13. 2 or 3, both really nice
  14. I've also seen some bugs where the coding for leaves (trees) has been mixed up with lava
  15. Cookie plawks, sugar? jimmy
  16. Thanks for the clarification :
  17. Thanks, I'll try that. I do realize that unplugging my laptop is bad for it, but it was either that or let the battery run all the way down. This has happened multiple times, and every single time, the power button hasn't worked. I've tested it multiple times, and there seems to be no other way to turn it off when this happens. I'm not sure that I have no viruses, but I think it's pretty unlikely.
  18. I don't know whether any of you have heard of grid computing. It's a process used by many research institutions in place of buying a supercomputer (as those can be prohibitively expensive ;) ). I personally use BOINC (explained later), and was wondering if anybody else does this type of thing. Thanks. Explanation of Grid Computing [hide=Summary of grid computing]1. Your PC gets a set of tasks from the project's scheduling server. The tasks depend on your PC: for example, the server won't give it tasks that requires more RAM than you have. Projects can support several applications, and the server may send you tasks from any of them. 2. Your PC downloads executable and input files from the project's data server. If the project releases new versions of its applications, the executable files are downloaded automatically to your PC. 3. Your PC runs the application programs, producing output files. 4. Your PC uploads the output files to the data server. 5. Later (up to several days later, depending on your preferences) your PC reports the completed tasks to the scheduling server, and gets new tasks.[/hide] There are many different scientific projects that use this system. For example, you can do climate simulations, protein folding experiments, and even detect earthquakes (if you have a macbook). BOINC, run by the University of California, Berkelely, is a popular program to do this. Once you download it, you can choose 1, or multiple, projects to support, and dictate when they can be run (using settings like time of day, cpu usage, and time idle). 19. 7/10. Cool truck, but looks a little plasticy. What's it sitting in? Cotton balls? My regular sig is in storage to make room for the MSSW4 sig, but you can rate it if you want.
  20. I have a nice laptop, about two years old. It runs Windows XP SP2, has a 1.6 Ghz cpu and 512M of RAM. Occasionally, it will beep at full volume, even if it's muted, and the screen will go black. It stays on, and the only way to turn it off is to unplug it and take out the battery. This happened to my sister when I wasn't home, and she just left it on. It started making a small stuttering noise (not from the hard drive). I turned it off using the method described above. When I turned it back on, the fan spun all the way up, and stayed at full speed. My computer is now extremely laggy, and when idle, uses about 70% cpu. Something is definitely wrong, but I have no idea what. :ohnoes: Update: I ran some diagnostics, and the processor runs fine. All of my thermistors (temperature sensors) failed, saying that the temperature readout was 255C, and that the max was 100C. I felt it, and it was nowhere near 255C on the outside. Normally, I can tell when my computer is hot just by feeling it. Now, however, it's almost cooler than normal. This leads me to think that the temperature sensors are messed up and causing the fan to run at full speed, even the the computer is actually operating at a normal temperature. Also, when I try to test either the video fan or the processor fan, the test goes till around 15% finished, and then the computer just turns off. All help is much appreciated.
  21. I completely agree with this.
  22. Why God, why?
  23. I actually don't own an Xbox360 :P . But the idea of achievements is nothing new, to any game in any form. Thanks for the supports. The rewards are not tradeable, I think I've mentioned that. And soner, that might be a tad difficu;t :P Sorry, I guess I didn't see that.
