Because they don't realise ape atoll is so much better. I suppose if you die then it's easier to get back and reclaim your gear. They also drop some ok loot but the loss in xp per chinchompa is not made up for by the gain in cash from their drops.
  2. I disagree, it took me about 5 tries to get my fire cape and I did alot of preparation. I read alot of guides and watched loads of pray switching guides on youtube, I even practiced in game. The thing that gets people killed is a lack of composure. They get to Jad and the adrenaline kicks in and they start to click alot more slowly/less accurately. Once you're chilled out it's so much easier. In terms of healing familiars, I'd say they would be of use, although they wouldn't make it so that many more people could do the fight caves. Not having to switch from the prayer to the inventory screen as much will help alot when being attacked by Jad's healers and personally I would have really appreciated the hp bonus because my fight with Jad was looong. I think it somehow glitched because the healers were healing him even after I'd attacked him and in the end it took me 7 super restore potions (4) before I killed him. Fighting familiars would probably get demolished by the 360s/Jad and to be honest it is unlikely they would hit that regularly against a lvl 700 monster.
  3. I've seen a few comments about the phoenix necklace recently and wondered if it actually entirely prevented K0s. For example, if I have 50hp and someone ags specs me, is it possible for them to kill me with one hit or will the first cause my hp to go to 30% of max and then after that he can kill me?

When doing dialogue in a comic strip, it always goes from top/left to bottom/right throwing the words around randomly makes it difficult and annoying to try to read. also that wasn't funny I found it funny :) I love all of the comics people are doing here, keep up the good work guys :D
  5. As Bruno said, I'd take a combat familiar and watch Jad own the hell out of it
  6. Out of interest, is BSS really worth taking to BH/PVP? It seems like alot of money to lose for something that isn't THAT useful, especially as it protects over most decent K0 weapons. As to smoke barrage being underrated, whenever I used it it has splashed, on the other hand shadow barrage never seems to splash for me.
  7. I highly recommend slaying as this will give you a variety of different tasks which will give both good exp and nice profit. If not then I find waterfiends quite fun so you could go there and collect some crimson charms. Not great exp but you make decent profit. Also, you'd need to alter your setup.
  8. By that logic, ahrim's armour is overrated because zuriel's is better. Or adamant armour is overrated because rune armour has better bonuses.
  9. I've smited revs before and they kept healing, it does improve the chance of a decent drop from a rev though. Your stats are good enough to take on jad but the battle is more about skill than stats. People in the level 40's have got fire capes but it isn't easy, if I were you I would train your range level a bit and perhaps also your prayer.
  10. No, . Charms are "bonus items". Bonus items are not affected by RoW. Yet testing give other results: With row I gain about 5%-10%* more charms. - Given according to the formula I found, at waterfiends the increase isn't that much.... *the rate does change a bit according to some formula, in one of my other post I displayed it I'm not entirely sure whether or not the row boosts charm drops, but I have a memory of olly dropping his row while bursting rock lobsters because he seemed to be getting less crimson charms(I think he was getting more gold charms though). This suggests the row may affect the charm drop rate but not necessarily in the way that you would want it to. In general since we don't know for sure I'd say a berserker ring is best since you get faster kills and faster charms.
  11. I have three main groups of friends, ones that I met ages back and we spoke/speak prety often, ones I meet in w99 and ones I meet playing castle wars. Most of the friends I have that I met along time ago (only around 2 years ago) have quit, but I keep them on my list cos they come back online and they're good to chat to when they log on every few months. The ones I've met in w99 I tend to chat to when I'm bored slaying so I say hi and try to strike up a convo :P Most of the ones that I met during castle wars I don't talk to much via PM. I either tend to chat to them on IRC (if im on) or just check what world they're on because there is probably a cw game there. There are also a few of these that I am very close to and I am chatting to them most of the time about one thing or another. I agree that it's hard to preserve rs friends, people become inactive or just chat with you less and you can't really hope to maintain a friendship with upto 200 people :/
  12. Comments in bold... I don't use a cannon on slayer tasks and I am level 99. This is because I like to profit off my tasks instead of lose cash. I've probably made 200M from slayer because of the drops and also the fact that I profit off every task. I don't cannon, I don't use piety, and I bring either a bunyip or a unicorn and maybe 1-2 super sets to keep costs at minimum and profit at max. It may take a little longer to finish a task but it feels much more rewarding knowing you profited AND got the exp rather than got the exp faster with loss of cash. I like to provoke discussion :) When I said that the fighter torso was underrated I mean by higher level players as opposed to the lower levels who think that the fighter torso is the be all and end all. It has alot more uses than people realise. I wasn't saying the rune pickaxe was underrated as a whole, just in that particular situation it is very helpful and very few people actually take a rune pick to castle wars. To outsanity, I often use a cannon on my tasks and I still make quite alot of profit, when you consider the average value of slayer points per task it is quite difficult to make a loss (unless vs something like dagannoth which drop junk) but this is easily cancelled out by the money from boots, whips and dark bows you get.
  13. Fighter torso - only takes about 5-6 hours to get the best str exp armour to wear around your chest and it doesn't cost 10m+. Yes it has crap defence bonuses but there are many circumstances where I don't need the extra def boost :) Great Orb Project - alot of people say that this minigame is rubbish but it is fun, is a good source of money and can seriously help boost your runecraft training. Rune pickaxe - at castlewars, very helpful for mining the rocks :) Cannon - alot of people are worried to use this while slaying because they don't want to upset people. It is a great boost to slayer exp and should be used as often as possible :) Enhanced excalibur - already mentioned but this thing is immense and removes the need for a saradomin godsword while slaying
  14. Helm: Void melee Necklace: fury top: void legs: void gloves: void boots: dragon ring: berserker fire cape>def cape if you have it Don't bother with guthan you probably won't need it. Take a bunyip and alot of swallow whole scrolls. If you have enhanced excalibur then this is a great place to spec with it, I suggest getting it :) Void is a really good setup here if you're not slaying and with bunyip + excallibur ul last a fair while :) If you really don't wanna get void then black dhide top will be ok.
  15. Upgrade to a fire cape, train strength and always wear your slayer mask/helm when slaying as the bonuses are far better than the +3 str bonus of the berserker helm.
  16. Join a 120+ soul wars clan as the above said and it'll be faster exp than pc. For THE quickest hp experience you should use chinchompas at ape atoll but that's expensive. If you can afford it, go for it tho :P
  17. All serious slayers should buy a cannon, use a cannon vs the following monsters: abby spectres bloodveld suqah black demons kalphite dagannoth You can use it vs dark beasts and wyvern too which will help speed up slow tasks. I may have forgotten a few monsters to cannon so dont flame me :P
  18. The sara sword does give faster exp than the dragon scimitar and so should be used unless the monster you're killing is hitting you alot and you need the defence bonus of a shield. Berzerker ring is very good for the price and should be used in almost all cases in my opinion. As the others say, you should really upgrade your amulet of strength to a fury as the extra prayer/atack/defence bonuses are well worth the price.
  19. z0diark =) not too hard, had to use both elbows for the smilie :P
  20. It's a very cryptic description. Personally, I've found that the ring of wealth doesn't tend to help unless the drop in question is about 100k+. I rarely use it anymore apart from when I'm soloing bosses with good loot (DKs/GWD etc) or occasionally at mages and abyssal demons.
  21. Agreed, I personally always use the chaos tunnels because it is always empty, I make decent cash with good crimson charm drops and means I get to use combat familiars which I find fun :) I hope the creator of the thread appreciates all this advice :P
  22. Just as an additional tip, chinning before 90 range is inadvised as you hit alot of 0s therefore wasting alot more money.
  23. That's where being smart comes in. Half of the exp is given for doing the most damage and half of it is given for the kill. Let your cannon do the hard work and focus on getting the killing hit. Either way, even though there are other people taking some of your kills, the lighthouse is still more exp/hour.
  24. I know what you're saying, to rephrase, slaying daganoth at the lighthouse will give more exp per hour than slaying them in the chaos tunnels and this is what's important. Personally, if I were slaying at the lighthouse then I would be there for the exp and so I would use a combat familiar rather than a healer. I'm not sure what you mean about moving away at the lighthouse but I presume you mean that people don't move away from the cannon because the cannon attacks all the monsters. You can move away from a cannon at the lighthouse, it does have a limited range and if you stand on the other side of the cavern then the cannon shouldn't affect you (not that this is entirely relevant).
  25. How is Lighthouse Dagannoths fast slayer exp when other slayers hit your kills and that can lead to slayer exp being divided..? NO. CT Dagannoths are rangers, and i am pretty sure they have very high range def. If they don't then i am shocked. At the lighthouse you can use a cannon which means that you can do your tasks in half the time that you could do them at the chaos tunnels. And how is that better exp? CT has very weak melee defence and you can use a familiar with special scrolls (Steel titan for me...) Cannon+You+Other players - EXP being divided now and then... So no they are not better exp, better points but so what? It's about EXP. Points>Cash>Cannon>Cash used. As a matter of fact i can do a Dagannoth task between 10-20mins at CT. If you kill them at the lighthouse then you will get more slayer experience per hour. The bonus of the cannon cannot be beaten by using any familiar. Yes the exp is sometimes divided but people tend to move away from a cannon at the lighthouse. Don't get me wrong, I kill daganoth at the ct because I prefer charms to fast slay exp but tasks do definitely go faster at the lighthouse. Also bear in mind that combat familiars can also be used at the lighthouse...
