Do players on pro teams who sit benched "earn" their ring?
For hockey players, the real debate is whether the enforcers earn their ring  Ex. (not that the leafs would ever win) but colton orr does one or two minutes a game and is basically completely useless except for fighting. Also, do the floating players, who go back and forth between the minors and big leagues earn their ring?

[TF2] It's MANN Vs. Machine!
Well teamwork isn't the be all and end all obviously, but a combination of the two is best, I think we can agree :)

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
I've known her since high school, and we had a little thing during those years, but we only recently came back into contact. Could it be possible that it's the old feelings rushing back? In this case, I think it could be. Wait a couple of weeks, don't do anything rash. Nostalgia and Infatuation.. I wouldn't throw a relationship away for feelings generated by that. Hmm my girlfriend possibly has appendicitis and has to have a blood test tomorrow.. Brilliant she hates needles and now won't talk to me because I made her go to the doctors.. Any help? :/ Tell her to stop being juvenile, and that she'll thank you when a needle is her only problem instead of appendicitis.

More USA documents get released by Wikileaks
I thought that it was pretty much the classic hero portrait: staring above and beyond the comprehension of mere mortals. Assange looks like he's thinking, "How bad will my butt hurt when I get jailed and drop the soap in the shower?" Rape is never funny. I'm completely serious right now. Sorry, I don't mean to flame, but just no. I have to agree with this, particularly due to the number of petty criminals who are turned into something much worse from abuse in jail.

What book are you currently reading?
My siblings love prachet. Never like him much though. Just read God is not great - How Religion poisons everything, The coming generational storm, and a bunch of boring technical books. Next on my list is The Rage Against God - How athiesm led me to faith.

Meds
This. I try to take medication as little as possible - generally I'm down at about 4-6 tylenol a year when I get bad headaches(and even then I only medicate when I have to function). This year was bad though. I have a mild wrist sprain so the doctor says I should take advil (anti-inflammatories). 56 pills right there :(

Well, if that's your decision, I'd do it sooner rather than later.

Well, I think the intention of the "surge" in Afghanistan is to hopefully push the ending of the war sooner... My issue with it is that he hadn't done anything - I'd much prefer if the nobel prize was awarded for an accomplishment rather than in lieu of such.

Lagg in RS
I find it hard to believe that would be the problem though if he can run Crysis on max... Try updating java/using a different browser.

Only in pubs. A good team will own a bunch of good individual players any day.

Game industry needs to set their eyes on the sky
Even basic bf2 had some flight elements irrc. Flight sim games, even combat ones, are generally pretty boring. To each his own, I suppose.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
If you're commited to your relationship, stop hanging out with the other girl. Otherwise, end things with your girlfriend now.

So true. That nobel prize was ridiculous.

The official World of Warcraft thread.
Vashj'ir was great, even with my experience there of the nightmarish queues for questing because of the 100's of people there on day one I still enjoyed it greatly. If only I didnt have finals I couldve been one of the first 85  , oh well next expansion I guess :D Vashj'ir was really fun at first but I'm almost level 82 now, and I must say I'm getting tired of being underwater :(

The Effects of Raising The Cost of Higher Education.
False argument. Higher education will still be free at the point of entry for anyone because the loans will cover the increased tuition fees. The cost of living won't rise except in line with inflation so the maintenance grant will still cover that. I think the protesting students are taking a very privileged view that taxpayers should be paying for their degrees which are often being studied for the sake of their own interest. Of course degrees like science, medicine and engineering are adding value to the economy but is something like history? If people want to study that then that's fine but I haven't heard a good argument why taxpayers who might not have had the desire to go study their passion for three years should be paying for that. The deficit is a real and unavoidable problem, other public sectors are all sharing the cost of the cuts, why shouldn't higher education? It's hard to say what the effect will be but if it improves the quality of courses and cuts out all the mickey mouse degrees then that will be a good thing. If it cuts down the number of students taking degrees then that's probably a good thing too, since a lot are essentially unnecessary for their future jobs. I haven't seen any good arguments as to why it will decrease uni access. This is the only argument that makes any sense. The UK is looking at huge economic problems within a few years - this is a smart and proactive move by the government.
