You could be a police diver! :P
  2. As everyone else has said, we have a sticky for this. Welcome back :) Locked.
  3. Well, obviously that's a difficult question to answer, because you have to tell people in order to make that judgement.
  4. Yup. Same for heavy though, to be honest.
  5. Ehh I don't know if I'd say no line can be drawn, but aside from the obviously great and the obviously garbage it's really just a matter of opinion.

What do people find appealing about systems analysis? I've never got my head around that. I don't mind to dig at your hobby but it strikes me as a little boring. Think of it as building something, like carpentry or construction, except virtually rather than physically.
  7. At best it's a necessary evil. This. I believe a government should be honest and transparent....insofar as it's possible to do so without compromising national security.

Real job: Programming/systems analysis. I do that at the moment and quite like it. Dream job: Professional hockey player. I'm terrible at hockey though.
  9. It's not completely useless but imo it doesn't compare to neutralizing ubers, saving sentries from stickies, reflecting rockets, and putting out teammates.
  10. I don't think you need to tell her at all, or at least don't make an occasion of it. If you guys are over, you're over..if it comes up in casual conversation that should be sufficient imo.
  11. Well, that was embarrassing.
  12. Indeed :) Scout is so much fun, my favorite class by far :D

Exactly! There comes a point where government decides that the a morality must be instituted for the good of society and thus the collective rights of society supersede those of the individual. The issue here is that opponents of homosexual marriage feel that the morality must be instituted for the good of society. The pro- gay marriage do not. That's as simple as it is. Proponents of gay marriage do not see it as wrong, but think the morality shouldn't be instituted for the rest of society. They think that giving gays that degree of freedom is actually morally right, and feel that morality should be instituted - rights are only infringed if the prohibition stands. Assuming you actually aren't a noncognitivist. I agree. I do beleive the majority should decide on the laws for all, even if sometimes it's very close. I'm not claiming that the majority of society (where I live at least) would want homosexual marriages to be illegal, although interestingly enough at the time it was legalized it was a minority wanting that done, and the majority wanted to keep the laws the same way. People who (from my experience) want to see homosexual marriages criminalized believe that there's a harm to society by allowing such, and thus for the good of society certain personal rights must be shafted. It's not easy to see the harm in something like that, but it mostly revolves around a continuing retreat from reproduction in society, which will basically collapse our economy in the near future. I had a thread I was going to post about this in particular, but never got around to it...soon, perhaps.
  14. Arggh noooooo :( Direct hit is great for soldier as is buff banner. Demo is fine with defaults but i like the axe as well. Sandwich is crucial for heavy, and the swift gloves can be great if used properly. For a medic the blutslaugher is great if you know how to use it and the kritz is crucial on defensive. Gotta have jarate on sniper as well. Backburner isn't good for pyros at all unless you want to play an individual game - you're far more useful as a team player with the default thrower or even the degreaser.
  15. Terrible decision. Both of them are completely useless and smell terrible too. Just kidding! Grats guys :)

That actually looks really good. I shall eat it, soon.
  17. I'd use the term "great literature". It's a little more clear :P
  18. How is an opinion "undeniable"? Neither book is War and Peace, but both (harry potter in particular) are quite well written, that's part of the reason for their popularity. Harry Potter especially is descriptive, well thought out, and quite elegant at times. Also, you do know that "literature" refers to writing in general, not just good writing? http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/literature
  19. I see. Well, I wait to see if anything in these docs will actually be a revelation. It all seemed pretty obvious so far.
  20. Right, so you plan on reading all 250,000 documents? No, don't worry, the liberal media will read them all and tell him what to think. OT: I don't particularly care in regards to this whole issue. It seems like a lot of stuff was released but nothing(yet) that really is extremely classified. Most of it just seems to be regular old complaining and candid insults, which, let's be honest, we all know are happening anyway, even if we can't see them.

You're a programmer. It's carpal tunnel. (No, jokes aside, feel better.) Actually, I think it may be :( I could barely move my left a few weeks back, but I've been stretching/sleeping with a brace. I'd noticed mild tinges in my right before then but at the hockey tournament I played in last friday I took a ton of wrist shots, which is a pretty abrupt jerking motion of the right hand. Clinic's open late, looks like I'm going. Hopefully it's not a big issue..

I am so [bleep]ing jealous, you have no idea Ahh its not quite what it seems. I've met the guy like once and iirc it's a two seater so i'd have to go by myself...however we shall see :P
  23. I find your use of the word "Joe" amusing as we all know: Joe can't tank. The update doesn't say this would specifically affect p2p armour only though...(in response to other posts).
  24. Huh. Those look pretty sweet... I generally just play with a staple remover.
