  1. I saw that too  Can't say I've heard of them... anything in particular they're known for? "Stretching" reality. I'll just leave it at that. Oh I lol'd
  2. You live in Israel. I'm not hated inside Israel though. And I doubt there's 1 country in the world that isn't hated by some people. I'm sure a gay person won't be hated inside their own house, but outside they may be. My point is that you put up with a certain amount of hate in your general area, and homosexuals are no different. But hatred towards Israel does not affect me, Romy, as a person. Just like hatred from California to NY doesn't affect the specific individuals (as individuals) of NY. I'd say it does. I don't hate gay people. But if I did, I'd hate gay people, not the individual. I'd hate them because they are lumped into a group of "gay people" who I hate. I'm sure the terrorists lobbing missiles into Israel don't hate Romy - but Romy is Jewish, so they hate you.

  5. I can see it on the regular TIF skin. I can't. What browser are you guys using? Chrome here.
  6. Should black parents not be allowed to adopt a white child? That could cause confusion in other students because of the difference in races. Maybe the kid could explain to others that their family is just like everyone elses. Link in the OP, http://www.cnn.com/2010/HEALTH/06/07/lesbian.children.adjustment/index.html , studies have shown that children of lesbians tend to have fewer behavioral problems. So for someone to have two mommies might even be better off than someone with heterosexual parents. Would children with no parents, stuck in the orphanage because they weren't allowed to go with the gay couple, be better off? You're literally saying that a child with no parents should continue to have no parents because you don't agree with certain lifestyles. Maybe the child can learn that having two parents of the same sex is okay, they're as good of a family as any other. I've known Caucasian / black students adopted by Asian parents throughout elementary, middle, and high school. We never treated them any different at all. In most communities today, race is no longer treated as a big issue, and in fact,, I didn't even really acknowledge people of other races were different from myself for a while. This is what I meant by current state. Let's rewind to within the year after the Civil War ended. Would I allow black parents to adopt a white child? I would strongly suggest against this too. The wounds would simply be too raw at this point, and it'll create more tension among both parties and in the life of the child. I never said that the children would be worse or better off. I'm not surprised that there's a correlation between good behavior and homosexual parents. But that doesn't change the fact that homosexual is still seen as "strange" in the eyes of many people, and thus in many kids. I've seen kids bullied for various mental or physical defections and to kids who don't understand homosexuality and who are taught differently by their parents, it would seem the children will experience a more challenging childhood. Are they better for it? Maybe. Correlation is not causation. But is it more trying? Logically, yes. And from narratives by those who grew up in those conditions, yes. It has nothing to do with whether I agree or disagree with their life style. It has to do with the fact that I don't think a student should have to deal with all the negative feelings surrounding homosexuals (whether or not these feelings are warranted - I don't feel they are at all, but you can't force people to think differently), and yes, I realize remaining in an orphanage is also a similarly trying lifestyle but I'm not ready to believe that being adopted with gay parents isn't worse. Especially in communities where gays are still openly rejected (such as states that still fight against gay marriage). You suggest having no parents at all is better than having gay/lesbian parents? No, he's suggesting that having no parents at all is easier from a social standpoint a lot of the time. Of course it's better from other standpoints to have parents.
  7. That's tricky. I'd just go with the "different interests" thing unless you want to be brutally honest.
  8. You can always go straight to the bios, a screen will come up asking you to hit delete or f12 to enter setup, or some related key.
  9. So you're basically suggesting that he use her as a [bleep] buddy when he knows he doesn't like her. Great advice It's not using her. Obviously he cares about her, otherwise this question wouldn't have even been posted. He would have known right off the bat what was the right decision. I'm actually encouraging him to try to have a relationship which is quite the opposite of a [bleep] buddy. But thanks for the input  You said it yourself, the right thing to do is end it now if his feeling don't lead him to think this relationship has a future in the long term? "But where's the fun in that?" What does that imply? That its ok to leade her on just because it will be "fun"? But yes, you didn't mention [bleep] buddying. My mistake.

  11. I agree with you completely - a huge amount of girls/women are like that and it's annoying as [bleep]. But they aren't all like that - I've met a few who are different. So keep looking, be open minded, and don't let it stress you out :)
  12. That's the dumbest* thing I've ever heard. *Maybe not the dumbest, but still. Whatever you say Broski :) Or maybe you want your child to have an extra ability which won't hurt but can help.
  13. If you don't know how to break it off now, it's only going to be harder later on. I mean sure she might agree to a summer thing now, but you can bet your ass she will keep calling you after it ends pushing for meet ups. Flings just don't work when one of you is that attached, it will just end messy. I'd probably do it, but then again I'm a [bleep]. Got to agree with Dan here - I think it's very unfair to use her for a summer fling only considering that she's clearly in love with you. If you aren't happy with it, don't ignore those signals. I'd break it off.
  14. I don't mean to be rude but if you have 20 posts and aren't in a clan you're hardly active and dedicated :P

In my view you have the traditional kind of manliness, gruff, tough, physical, etc. Of course changing roles in society have shifted that, so that definition doesn't work any more. Magekillr brought up an interesting point, saying "Is spending time with your kids" not manly? I think it really is. To the best I can define it currently, being manly goes hand in hand with maturity - to be manly is to do your job well, to care for your family, and to be a nice person. The statement "be a man, do the right thing" fits here well. It basically depends on your situation.
  16. Making fun of this is how I wish I spent the day. For some reason I find ridiculous manliness to be the funniest thing ever. Instead I looked at the Courage the Cowardly dog page on Tv Tropes. My girlfriend and my brother's girlfriend came over for dinner since it was my sisters birthday, and my brothers girlfriend kept hitting him. I told him he had to take it without complaining since it was man day :P
  17. Aha I love the syntax highlighting going on in the code tag :P Good luck everyone, hope you find someone(s) good :)
  18. I'm voting for this as the next big internet meme. All we need is a video of the deed in question ;)
  19. Or you could just reformat if that doesn't work.
  20. Think about that statistically. Also remember that there are several kinds of Autism and varying degrees of it, the autistic boy my sister babysits now and then is really shy. Also I'll be honest, I never saw you to be the religious type y_guy. I'm not a practicing catholic to be honest, but I was raised so :P And yes, I realize it's no study...just from what I've observed. The degree's of the disease I think are relevant are the ones that lead to complete disregard for societal norms, which are the more extreme cases.
  21. I do take your word for it. I firmly believe that homosexuality, like any other trait, is a product of nurture rather than nature. If your upbringing leads you to be attracted to men, so be it. It doesn't mean I need to view it as something that's acceptable or I believe to be right. As I've said before, we all have a choice, to act or not to act on our feelings. You may attempt to prove to me that homosexuality is a product of nature, that it is something present in our genes. If this is the case, I will wait for scientists to isolate it but I have some interesting thoughts on the issue. Have you ever been around people with serious mental disabilities? (I don't know what the politically correct term is, but I mean people with down syndrome, autism, etc) I've had some experience with them. Something I find interesting is the absolute lack of societal influence on their behavior. My girlfriend's cousin is autistic. He's in his mid teens, going through puberty. He will stare down the shirt of any woman he sees and flirt with every single one of them. I've heard stories how, if the teachers of his program leave the room, sometimes they will come back to these kids having sex. Why? Because it's natural, and they have no awareness of any of the restrain imposed by society. I've never heard of a homosexual mentally disabled person. Never. I won't be as bold to say it's impossible, but I've never heard of it. If homosexuality was hard coded in our genes, you would think that would manifest itself in these people as well. I've never seen it, and that's interesting to me. This is just my theory, from what I've seen, and of course I've only seen a small number of people and I'm no doctor...but the point remains.
  22. Yes, you have free will, which means you are free to do something seen as wrong. I personally see homosexuality as something that's against the laws of nature and therefore wrong. It doesn't make me hate gay people, it doesn't make me scared of them, it doesn't make me think they should be maligned by society, but I still don't believe what they do is right.
  23. This argument is inherently flawed. Why would anything bad exist if God didn't approve of it? The whole point of our existence is that we have free will, and are free to do what we want. But going back to the original point, I agree all of them are unfair, except for the church issue. I'm on the fence with the adoption thing as well.
  24. Why should they have to suffer due to the blind ignorance of the catholic church and others? Why should the Church have to bend the beliefs they've had for thousands of years just because gays are allowed to legally marry now? I agree the others are all unjust though. Oh, and if things could be solved by bribery, why don't the gays bribe the church?
  25. This one by the way. 17 pixels too wide, lol. Yeah I knew it was too big, dunno why I asked "which". Most of them should be easy to bring under the kb size, and I'll crop that one down a bit...if you end up using it.
