  1. Oh thanks for the posts everyone. Yeah I should've known I would fail with the farm cape paul :P Aand idk ace I don't really got anything to rebuild since I basically didn't sell anything, it only ruined my cash pile lol. Slightly annoyed by the fact I can't buy enough cballs to slay with now but barrowing for a while or something should fix that.

Yeah don't try to get a +6 boost, I tried to boost to 91 from 85 for that diary and went 550 stews without a +6. I did get around 34 +5 boosts in the process. Get 86.
  3. Nomad seems like a good boss to me. Minimum requirements are probably like 78 combats (for pvp gear, probably possible without but you have to get lucky) and 70 pray/66 summoning, pretty grandmaster-worthy requirements if you ask me. Anyone under that has to train, and anyone who has either overloads/yak/soul split+turmoil/spirit shield (or all of those) will probably find Nomad a pushover. For everyone in between, Nomad will be a fun and challenging boss fight, maybe wasting quite some supplies in the process but I guess finally beating him after a few tries gives some satisfaction.
  4. That cape is much better than a fire cape in many situations, including just about every situation where you need to protect pray constantly, or even if you're using piety/turmoil constantly. how so, hitting higher is more efficient than using 7 ppots rather than 9, xp > cost so by saying sw cape is better your valuing a few k on ppots over speed of combat +4 Str is what, +1 to your max hit? How is a chance to hit 1 higher more efficient than a 33% slower prayer drain? theres things called prayer potions, you drink them, +1-2 dmg is better I guess you're right, you use about 1.5 ppots/hour more if you use turmoil/berserker and wear fire cape instead of the new cape, about 20k cost/hour to get maybe 5k extra xp/hour? The same would go for bandos/proselyte though, should we start doing prayer tasks etc in full bandos? Also, prayer drain rate isn't linear with prayer bonus. 10 prayer bonus makes you use pray 75% slower, 30 pray bonus is 50%. You can get +9 pray and +10 strength by wearing standard slayer outfit with fire cape/bandos top/bottom, and +29 prayer bonus in pros top/v skirt/blue cape. Let's round that to 10/30 for easier calculating, and assume you use berserker+turmoil/piety. It would mean you use 50% more prayer to get +10 strength. +10 strength means +2.5 every hit or something like that, say you hit 1k times per hour. That would be 10k xp extra from the strength bonus. You use 1k prayer points per hour in +30 prayer bonus, and 1500 per hour in +10. That's about 4 ppots or 50k extra cost. It's more like 7 ppots per hour more if you pray melee too, so in that case proselyte would be better. That seems worth it, though I'm not sure if +10 str really gets you 10k more xp per hour.
  5. Oh yeah, it would probably be a pretty good idea to bring an unicorn pouch + scrolls to use after tort/yak is empty.
  6. How are you even having trouble with those stats? :o I really fail at anything boss-related so I basically spam clicked sharks/brews whenever he hit me and still had quite some sups left at the end  its about timing and getting the inventory just right...i think 25 sara brews and 10-12 restores plenty. i range using diamond (e) and just sip sip sip sara sip restore. all the people complaining here and on rs forums on the difficulty of the boss fight forget why we find quests so enjoyable - the challenge. ive probably spent and lost a few million on the quest...and the reward wont mean much to me...but oh the challenge...it means far more than xp or item rewards. i would be happy if there were no reward at all! You could try bringing more food, I brought 6 rests 14 brews 8 rocktails and rest sharks, and the fight only got hard after I had run out of actual food and only had brews left. Normal food seems to work pretty well really, and especially with yak you should be able to bring enough of it.
  7. Yeah, now this basically is the "end game" cape because you can/should use prayer basically anywhere, and not wearing it is a little like wearing bandos top/tassets instead of proselyte while praying (not as extreme but you get the point).
  8. How are you even having trouble with those stats? :o I really fail at anything boss-related so I basically spam clicked sharks/brews whenever he hit me and still had quite some sups left at the end
  9. For people still struggling with the quest, zs on stab really does work pretty well. Dodge the 75 hit by standing behind a pillar, saves you quite some food. If you got a large bob, try to have some sharks/rocktails left to use during the last phase. Brews barely keep up when he goes berserk, so you dont'want to be stuck with just brews when he does that :P. I found sharks way more useful to heal during the normal fight too, bring some to use in conjunction with brews.
  10. What a terrible goal. Grats on 99 cooking must have been really hard.
  11. Thaaaaanks guys. And wouter gtfo my thread with the flaming and leave the poor guy alone, you mean, sadistic bastard.
  12. Probably, if you're going to brew anyway it would be easier to use those. Only problem might be if you don't manage to kill him within 5 minutes and have to take another dose.
  13. So what exactly does nomad do? Uses all combat styles and hits really high with them like jad but fast?
  14. You can do even faster if you use mouse keys for making the pouches/banking, I got a little over 3k charms/hour while getting 99. Still a pretty good guide, even though I haven't used it in a while it really helped me at lower levels, thanks!
  15. Oh, 3 99's too? Awesome
  16. You wont ever need, for example, 3k antifire mixes though. Same goes for other mixes, the prices you estimate are only true when you're actually going to use the potion you make. I don't really see where you would use restore mixes either, since most of the time when you need restores you also need inventory space (boss hunting, jad, etc). I mean, I have 9k super antifires. That sure wasn't all profit. Unless I'm going to be fighting dragons 10 hours a day for the coming year.
  17. Yeahh wouter wins the toadflax seed. Thanks for the posts everyone! Slightly less than 13 months since farming saru  , and yeah dod I remember that party like thing, suddenly you guys were all at ardy patch :P
  18. :P Thanks everyone! And xano got the hoods wronggggg.
  19. [hide=99 Prayer][/hide] [hide=99 Summoning][/hide] [hide=99 Hitpoints][/hide] So yeah as you might have noticed, I tried to keep my farm cape untrimmed in the first picture. Glitched overload boost into f2p by dying too. It worked, until I got 99 summoning :P. Forgot all about that, the cape trims after a 3rd 99 too of course. I slayed most of my charms, and bursted/barraged most of 85-95 mage. I have about 900 crimson charms left now to use for steel titans or something. Hitpoints xp is from slayer too, and prayer is a by-product from having to get 95 for turmoil. Ehm, rate it I guess. Either maxed combat or all 90+ next. Thanks for reading! Edit: Guess the hoods. First one to get it right wins a toadflax seed. Another edit - Got 13.46m summ xp, went up 3k ranks and rank 1150 now. Got 13.1m pray xp, up 6.3k ranks to 7850. :P
  20. Some pretty nice achievements there, and good luck in the coming year!
  21. Exactly. And that's also why those slower methods aren't worth it, because there *are* other options. Who would train runecrafting the slow way anymore if there was a pyramid plunder like option? Close to no one, only those who actually like runecrafting as it is now. So unless you like clicking herbs, it is perfectly reasonable to choose the more expensive option. I agree that it is ridiculous when people complain about herblore being too expensive though, they should either just train it or don't bother and save some money. Or, well, clean a truckload of herbs. I'm kind of wondering where you got your zamorak brew mix figure from, runewiki says they're a 22 gp/xp loss?
  22. As far as I know, there are only a few methods to train herblore. Regular potions - fast, expensive. Cleaning herbs - slow, can be pretty cheap if you buy at the right prices, kills your wrists. Barbarian potions - slow, but can be cheap if you make the right potions. I tested making sup str mixes, and with caviar being unbuyable, making one would cost 3989gp and you can sell it (or I was able to buy it, not even sure if they sell at that price), for 3765 gp. That's 5 gp/xp, and if they're as fast to make as regular potions that would be around 85k xp/hour (~2k pots per hour). This is worse than cleaning herbs, so apparently the best way to train herblore is to click on herbs for hours on end. Yes, that would probably efficient up to 4m/hour or something, but I'd assign some value to your wrists and overall enjoyment of the game too. I wouldn't call 6-7 hours of cleaning herbs per herblore level at 90+ "smart and determined".
  23. I haven't actually heard you mention a method to train herblore that doesn't cost hundreds of millions yet :P Like every method to train herb cheaply would either be proven inefficient because it's so slow or is cheap because opportunity costs aren't calced in. You could probably clean herbs and get xp pretty cheaply if you buy them at the right prices and sell at the right prices, but that's basically merching and you'll probably get some sort of wrist failure from all the clicking.
  24. BETTER graphics? MORE "worlds" ? xD MORE spelling errors? I think it's travian, not travain lol
