You just need a guitar and some dedication. I think some guitar players like to keep this secret, but all it takes is practice. Really. Anyone can learn to play guitar to an intermediate sort of level if they are dedicated enough. The internet is an unbelievable resource. http://www.cyberfret.com + practice time = ability. Simple as. I agree. Starting guitar can be very frustrating because you'll probably sound like [cabbage] and you'll rage because you can't do what you want to do. Practise. But don't make it a chore, guitar playing should be fun. :P It would help to get lessons but it's really not needed, you learn more at home. Are you planning on playing electric or classical?
