"If you don't want your children to watch LOTR, you probably should just lock them in the basement and throw the key out" A kid with its own mind will do what he/she wants in this day and age. Limitations will only lure the child more. Forbidding a child from playing a computer game may have catastrophical outcomes. For example in a classroom where 20 boys play RS, the 1 kid will not understand why he cannot play no matter how good you can explain to him why he may not. (I doubt there is a good arguement why NOT to play RS anyway). He will on the other hand be made fun of, and most likely feel like the black sheep in the flock. Just like a child who goes to school with "funny pants" or holes in his socks, he may develop a minority-complex and in the long run become an introvert. Computer games are here to stay, and RS is probably the most eligible game of all for a child to play, seeing as its user friendly and does not contain any bloodshed or foul language. (newb is not foul language, you sensitive emo's)

All 3 have their own flag and their own languages, they just keep "british english" as a second mother tongue. And I'll bet a far larger percentage give a @!¤# about the queen of england too. Isn't Northern Ireland the section which broke free of rule btw ? I can never remember. I'm not irish I dont care :lol:

I think its safe to call that an internet-fact. Because to say that, you'd have to know what exactly everyone in Jagex are doing and what the normal pay is for the job they are doing. The real fact is, that working in computer game development is not a job you should take if you are expecting a normal salary paid out on the first of every month. Why? Because like alot of other businesses, the employee's paycheck is dependant on the monthly income. The monthly income has basically only gone up since 2001, which you can check yourself since by law all companies economy is open to general public. I suppose when you wrote everyone you also meant Paul and Andrew Gower, who are both in the top 200 of UK's richest bachelors under 30 and in the bracket of 600-700th richest men AT ALL in all of UK. (Last recorded the brothers were worth £113 million or US $217 million combined) So with that said I find it really hard to believe that Paul and Andrew can get away with pocketing that much cash while at the same time keeping those rumoured underpaid employee's happy. Have you even been to Jagex.com and read their employee policy and what they do for their employees? Did you know that Jagex Corp has yearly been voted in the top 100 of UK's most employee friendly companies? These, my friend, are real facts. But I guess what you wrote is also a fact, since its on the internet, right? ;)

Who told you this? None of the scandinavian countries dub television and all have early english educations. And to be more than fair you should know that Finland has the highest average in final-exam scores in all of Europe, not Sweden. I'm not finnish btw but I like getting facts straight. Ooooh, and I dare say Wales Ireland and Scotland also beat Sweden ;)

Why don't the pro-riot newbies go do an Runescape riot IRL ? I mean, they obviously take themselves seriously. But than again nobody else does. Seeing as a riot is not typing as fast as you can while clicking on an emoticon in sync with 1000 other nerds. A riot can NOT happen in a computer game. And you aren't shouting JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE CAPS PUT ON. I hope some people understand what I'm getting at. Stop talking about organizing riots online. Log off your computer and get some friends out in front of Jagex' HQ and paint some banners. Thats not even a riot, its a protest. In fact a riot can only be a riot when violence is dragged into the scene. So please PLEASE stop these pitiful internet-gatherings-where-we-all-type-in-caps events. Its lame and a waste of time, for you, for jagex and for the players who on chance walk by you and your star trek buddies.

The previous version of the forums was written in phpBB2, which tripsis explained is MUCH more vulnerable to hackers etc. This new forum is written in phpBB3 which includes many more security updates. So for those who demand the previous version of the forum, you are at the same time demanding lower security and in the long run more attacks. tip.it is just as prone, if not MORE prone to be attacked from someone on the outside rather than someone from the inside administration. So phpbb2 would be committing suicide at this point. So why don't we go with the flow and give some positive input, instead of making oneself look like an idiot saying stuff like "tip.it doesn't care", "tip.it doesn't know how to do their job". Some people here have been fully engaged and working in this community since before alot of you complainers starting growing pubes. To suggest that they are wasting their time, just to waste time, makes your IQ drop 10 points seriously. In this situation negative input will help NOTHING. What happened has happened, let the past go and help the tip.it crew design a new skin(s) that will eventually please everyone. Bear in mind that this is the 4th or 5th evolvation of tip.it forums since year 2001. Clear proof that nothing lasts forever, but also proof that situations like this (the hacking of tip.it) can definitely be turned 180 degrees for the better. Just felt like posting something long-winded right now, as obviously alot of people haven't understood the full situation and have taken to blaiming tip.it as means of venting frustration. P.s. make your own damned forum if you believe you can do a better job, see how things go, eh? I'm sure you wouldn't be the first newb to create an avidgamers forum ;)

Between gunthor and moss giants i believe black knights were highest. i dunno. asgarnia came after varrock dungeon. but u could be right since there was 1 black knight at the blue moon inn . what about the demon slayer quest monster? it was level 37 and as far as i recall gunthor was 36?

speaking of economy. it was common knowledge pre-rune armor that rune armor was to be put into the game to "reduce the massive amount of money floating around on the 3 or 4 servers up and running prior to the rune armor update. adam plates cost 44k from the shop back than when it was the most expensive item until bluerose started selling adam kites (for 100 coal mules, or 50. my memory is phail) , legs 8k and large 2-3k as far as i remember. so rune armor was a mega money devourerer, seeing as bluerose was around level 85 smithing at the time. about the other armor i can try off the top of my head. rune plate before it was smithable 65k full black (without kite since all pkers with respect for themselves used 2h's) 8-10k in varrock market, prices dropped gradually. full mith 8k adam battle axe 4k, on a side note when adam bat was released there were many scams where the scammer used an iron battle axe to swap quickly before the "victim" clicked accept trade. there were no trade precautions either. so they made adamantite a lighter shade of green. adam kite cost 100 coal mules, or 50 coal mules i cant remember exactly. so you could choose to mine your [wagon] off, or buy it used for alot more than what 1500 was worth. rune longs bought used were 25k. and that about sums up the significant armor predating the first 99 smith

oh but its an easy decision my friend. fullscreen mode is mostly used in more powerful 3d games to reduce lag, as fullscreen mode directs most of the computers attention to the active screen. windowed mode, which rs has always existed in would create somewhat more lag with a game like neverwinter nights 2 or world of warcraft running in high definition. but rs is a low-end graphical game, which means windowed mode or fullscreen mode makes little to no difference for anyone with a pentium 166 mhz or higher. even with the huge graphic makeover planned for RS this year i doubt it will affect us users of windowed mode. so all in all, windowed mode is still more practical as it allows pr0n surfing while playing!

please try harder to make it seem as if jagex is a big bad wolf attempting to ruin your lives ;-]

a world jump sidebar isn't as good an idea as it might seem. you're not supposed to jump around the servers like fleas, hence the waiting time that was put in. im not a big fan of the fullscreen idea either, as I (and alot of other people) enjoy using forums , msn and all kinds of cheating programs while playing rs..... actually i was lying......... i dont use msn ;)
