i think in 2001 it was mysticsmagic & LIGHTNING in the first half of the year than bluerose13x from mid-2001 to late 2002 where it became zonghui for being first to 99 hp and 92 prayer (prayer level needed for max combat level 123) tied with Ladykilljoy for being 2nd to 99 hp but a far more open personality towards the public. than came tks in 2003 and after that zezima took the cake. but thats just my opinion :P on a sidenote i thought i'd post some of the most infamous characters over the same time period just for fun. in start of game it would have to be X_scorpion_X for scamming people and openly admitting to it, as at the time there were little to no regulations. followed by robin_hood2 among the higher level society for creating massive drama including backstabbing clan member, clashing with good friend and co-leader of wanderers; Lightning, and creating a new, enemy clan of the wanderers. Than came Who_Da_Best (WDB) still in 2001 up and about 2003, reknowned for trashtalking , macroing and being an allround bad guy as well as being in the top 5 of fighters where he got up to 90 hitpoints before being banned, unbanned in 2003 and as far as i know banned again. Than there was a duping gang that most, including myself, never found out who was in it. this was before xx___jut___xx (or however its spelled). back than rollbacks were common, rollbacks could be anywhere from a day to a minute. the trick was to trade your item just before rollback occured to someone else, and according to rumours each player would hold the item when logging back in, my theory is that they spent the whole day trading back and forth. it caused much commotion and the bug was fixed. this went on between 2001 and 2002. than came Husla still in 2001-2002, a macroer and character stealer. rumors had it that he had stolen numerous high level chars. than came XX_Jut_XX (or however its spelled) with the massive pink party hat dupe, resulting in the large imbalance between pink vs the other colours now. I cant think of any more right now, but these few were the talk of the forums back than, about just as much as the famous people :P

Bear in mind that random events were put in the game for ONE REASON, to fight macroers and bots. So the better Jagex gets at fighting 3rd party programs without the aid of random events, the less use there will be. I hope that we will return to the point before random events in the future. Rewards were only to stop the whining.

If the game has substantial storyline and in-game depth than a game can definitely carry its own weight in litterature and film. Look at Tomb Raider for example. The Baldurs Gate book collection is a very good read as well. Although I'm not quite sure if they were printed before or after the game. But I only first noticed the books after the game. There are also a number of Diablo books, all in the fantasy/rpg genre. So in my opinion it pretty much boils down to the skills of the writer, and not how good the game is. Because I bet someone like J.R.R Tolkien could write a masterpiece based on Pacman if he needed to. I'm not quite sure if anyone could pull of a book on Pong though :lol:

Hell, he could've taken two minutes in the rants section. being a smartass on the internet isn't as cool as some people might originally think pre-posting either. It wasn't threads like these that closed the original forums either, it was the strength of fansites like tip.it, zybez and RSInn that lead Jagex to the decision to close the forums for further time being , until they released forums again for members only. sure he could have taken 2 minutes in the rants section, if he even knew of the rants section seeing he is new here. Or someone could just take 2 minutes to answer him in a civil way, one person did. and AFTER that a bunch of apes started flaming.

Its not flaming at all. Its merely disagreeing with the point that players have some right to decide what goes on in the game, be they paying members or not. Fact is we don't have the right and trying to link RS with real life constitutions is silly.

Honestly, hundreds of years ago people would have to walk to the market and stand there all day selling their items, it was part of life and people accepted it. God didn't 'update' his creation because people didn't want to put up with part of life. jagex shouldn't have either. He could still have walked into champs guild and bought rune long instead of standing 3 hours at varrock server 1. So how is his post so laughable? Must have been a crappy deal if no one wanted to sell for 3 hours anyway :thumbsup: Come on now fook, you can't get into champs guild until you have completed dragon slayer. That is why his post is so laughable.. along with whoever said "buying r2h 50k" as their first r2h.... =D> I dont know how champs guild works now but thats not true for rs1 im' pretty positive on that. Champs guild was around long before dragon slayer quest, so I'm pretty sure you can. as far as I remember its just a certain amount of quest points required to enter. Most people could get in champs at around level 30 lol since the hardest quest at the time was prince ali :thumbsup:
