At times, mods macro hunt(entirely different since macroing is a serious offense not a trivial matter) and at times mods hang out in high traffic areas to monitor activity and watch for trouble. Why not? If people lost all advantages to working hard there would be some drop in productivity, Im not going to go with the paranoia of everyone will stop working but unless you love your job the pay is a major motivator.

For some reason Ive had a bad day in this thread as far as good wording goes to clarify some things, when I said hunting rifle I mean anything that is reasonably used for hunting ie any bolt action a good amount of semi auto rifles. my assault rifle statement was aimed at fully automatics and their ability to empty a full clip into a crowd before there is time to react. Finally, I am pro gun overall but do believe in regulation such as psych checks etc. My apologies for having a bad night on this thread.

I recognize the term assault weapon implies too much on appearence but its a want of a better term situation to be honest. Yes, any gun can be used to very lethal effect, the main concern I have is regulating things that require no skill to be put to such effect(ie fully automatic weapons and "high capacity" for want of a term pistols). I fully support legal gun ownership, but (easy to get)liscensing of guns that arent hunting rifles seems like a reasonable approach to me.

Yes, you can use a revolver for a mass killing, but no its never going to be as effective as an assault rifle without requiring months(years) of training just to use it to that level.

We could speculate on their selection process all we want and we agree it seems to be imperfect; that doesnt affect the problem with you asking me to explain it If you quote someone and imply something they clearly didnt mean it is putting words in their mouth, I didnt accuse you of misquoting me Even if a mod didnt care one bit about the status most of them would be upset because its like taking away a reward. If there were never crowns then I wouldnt be on the front lines fighting to add them, but taking away a reward from players who have shown good behavior and helped jagex through reporting rule breakers would just create ill will and lead to general discontent among them. Ahrims costs plenty. Expensive melee weapons can easily be protected. Runes can't be protected because, well, you have to use them! Zuriel's staff can't be protected, because, well, IT DEGRADES INTO OBLIVION. The cost of magic is too high. maybe unskulled, but with protect item the cost of melee armor goes up really quick. Bandos tasset costs more then full ahrims etc.

that would still take a ton of effort to earn the money. The point is earning 100mil is going to be harder then gaining 99 cook so pray is not easier then cooking etc.
