  1. I don't believe IVP & the Raine Group had as big of an influence on the decisions within Jagex, back then, as they do now. The CEO doesn't really have a choice but to do what the investors want. I realize they didn't. I was replying to a post about having faith in the current CEO though. The current one is the same one as back then. I wouldn't be paying to further the game by buying cosmetics. I would be funding their greed and showing I support their microtransaction shops. They allready sell XP directly, even though they say they don't. SoF Lamps are common enough to be the equivilant of selling XP. At the same time, the SoF makes it impossible for them to sell gold directly. If they did, SoF would be considered gambling and IVPex would have quite a bit of work to do to get around it. Like I said earlier, I'm willing to forgive and forget if they remove SoF and SGS. Those are the only evils that make me push others away from this game before they try it.
  2. Well, the current CEO is the same as the one who once said Microtransactions would never be implemented. The same CEO who started a complete removal of all Membership Advertisement in Free to Play. Look at Free to Play today with all the membership ads. I never compared this newspost to the previous one. If I were to do that, this one would be better yes. Better, but still not satisfactory in my opinion. Agree with your suggestions. LoL has champions you can both buy through gameplay points (IP) or using Riot Points which you get during promotional periods or through real money purchase. Though the cosmetic skins are only available through riot points, which is the Real Money currency. Thing is you actually need strategy and knowledge to become good at LoL. Runescape EXP just shows you've grinded more than others have. Sure you can powerlevel your way to level 30 in LoL through a ton of buffs costing real money, but you could still easily be beaten by a lower level with better strategies. I feel SGS and to an extent SoF promote a premium membership status to those who pay for all the cosmetic stuff. Simply paying for membership doesn't give access to all content like it used to. I hope they realize all the damage that has been done. I hope every day. Nothing would make me happier than to see a newspost saying SoF and Solomon's Store will be removed. I have no belief in it ever happening though. They lost my trust the moment they changed their own rules for their own personal gain. That added on with all the deceiving posts trying to justify their actions while never really admitting to what they've done. I'm willing to forgive and forget if they are willing to remove the mistake of adding microtransactions. I don't understand why there shouldn't be a way of gaining the stuff through investing time instead of money. They've added ways where investing money saves time through SoF, why not the opposite?
  3. They also said real life wealth would never affect your gameplay. Look how that turned out.
  4. Yeah, I know GameGuard wasn't requested made by IVP. What I meant was they are probably using technology from it (or HackShield, I haven't played MapleStory in years) and calling it Jagex Account Guardian. Same boat as I'm in. I want all the unlockables, but I'm not folding over hundreds of dollars for it. If microtransactions are added, I feel there should at least be a way for people to get the stuff without buying it. Didn't know it was used by others than Nexon. I hope Jagex have a better alternative to it at least.
  5. How well does it work? I haven't played MapleStory in a while, so I can't speak for it's current state. It's far from "the ultimate downfall of all cheating" though. It's by no means perfect and stops all forms of cheating.I do believe it will stop bots, but I don't know how long it will.
  6. My thoughts exactly. Oh, but this is where you are wrong about me. If this were to happen, the dark cloud that covers the Jagex I talked positive things about every week would fade. I would once again be proud when saying "I play Runescape." Right now I can't help but say "I play Runescape, but the game is overrun with microtransactions. Not worth getting into really." - The first part says we listen to your feedback but we don't care how much you hate SoF and SGS, they're staying. The post then goes on to promise a lot of future content which by all means looks nice, but it's purpose there is to move attention away from their reply to the mass-microtransaction updates they've been doing. I think it's a cheap way of revealing future content. Oh, and I guess a lot of you haven't tried MapleStory. It has an anti-cheating program that runs in the background of your computer when you start the gameclient up. It's called "GameGuard". I'm certain that's how they are stopping the bots. IVP just shipped the GameGuard code to IVPex and they made a version of it for Runescape.
  7. Not that I need your random cosmetic items for being a member IVPex, but I guess I'll take it if you want to give me it. You could have just said two new quests would be coming this month and I would've subscribed instantly, if I wasn't.
  8. Nothing good will come from this, knowing IVPex.
  9. Do tell, I must have missed this. I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not but in any case, here it is from the news post: Whats annoying is when I read the newspost, I saw it as "for the coming weeks, players will be able to purchase the Bank Boosters from our Loyalty Shop." Probably expensive addtitions to the loyalty shop though whenever they decide to release it.
  10. Exactly. I was thinking something more realistic though, say 30-50k. They may say they are doing it for their "Loyal Players", but this is IVPex we're talking about. Got 1425 points in a round so have my cape back. Like the above poster, I found out the private spots aren't as private as they were advertized to be. It may be a bug though. Right now, it's just a different hunter spot for the creatures which also requires tickets for you to hunt at.
  11. That reminds me of a post I saw on the RSOF today. Made my day. I have some video ideas ready. :P
  12. Pkers have always killed people doing clues, even before PvP Wilderness was removed. I can't speak for how the current state is, as I don't bother checking into that kind of stuff these days.
  13. Completionist capes require 1'110 points to be gained in one round to be equipped. Doesn't seem like this D&D will take off and become realy popular in the current state.
  14. Still not excited about the update. :P Happy I did Runespan before they nerfed it again. This week's Solomon update is useless to most people. I'd rather clean my bank and keep my 8 or whatever euro's it costs for 50 more spots.
  15. Wait, you did that in the beta? I killed QBD multiple times in bandos and armadyl with little problem. :P
  16. If it were the reason given(and it appears for some people indeed it is), it still wouldn't be as lacklustre as the argument or lack thereof you have given to make your case. Love it or hate it; the beta is antithetical to the premise of Runescape and a complete departure from its established system of combat, it's a major change; in a list of the most major changes in RS history, this would easily be in the top 5-10. Some people can handle that, others can't and there's nothing "pathetic" or "sad" about people leaving the game over this. It would appear a lot of people are at least planning at this time to leave the game if the beta supplants the live RS; I haven't seen any data on this, but there seems to be a fair amount of anecdotal evidence(so take it for what it's worth) out there corroborating this. At the same time though, I know a few people who will be coming back with the combat update. People will leave and people will come, just like with every update.
  17. Don't we all? Only the other day I was thinking if I do get lucky with my writing and get rather rich I'd like to try and buy out IVP in Jagex shares so I could force them to fix the microtranscation stuff. Not get rid of it, that ship has sailed, but make them stfu about it and make it fit RS better. I hope you succeed. Remove the ads and stop the available for a limited time only RWTing items is all I ask for.
  18. If only they stopped pissing me off with all the microtransactions. I like what they've done to Al Kharid, but it doesn't change my view of what Jagex have become.
  19. I thought that was the partyhat dupe in RSC. Jagex does this with modern bugs as well fyi Ah ok. Doesn't surprise me.
  20. I thought that was the partyhat dupe in RSC.
  21. Two microtransaction updates in one week? ..... Ahahahahahahaha. I don't care what their excuse is anymore. Jagex or IVPex, they're both just greedy these days. Quitting after Trim Comp might be a good idea. I can't stand all this bull waste of time content.
  22. Den replied to Blutters's topic in Help and Advice
There is no way to change it currently. It just has an on / off option.
  23. Please don't let it be what I think it is... Oh thank god.
  24. In a way, this is a no-update week with patch notes/other news. Just remove "in a way". This is a no-update with patch notes and in other news. Am I the only one who has to toggle the nav bar option on and off to remove the bar while it's already set as off?
