THE HISTORY of SERPENTS: a blog
47 Runecrafting Vacation time now! \ Going to the East Coast for an entire week to visit my mom, sister, brother-in-law, and my new, adorable nephew, Koen! It'll be weird to have a week away from work ;-; I'm going to be so poor ;-; Once I get back, I'll crack down on Cooking again (my favorite author just released her new book, so the past two days have been computer-free while I read it.) Bai for now :3

OK... WTH roots got me after i came from my house?

How can you guys handle this?
While I can see where you're coming from, I don't quite agree with you on everything. For me personally, I don't think my membership fee is going to upgrades. Paying a monthly fee allows me greater access to more content in the game -- Herblore, Summoning, mini-games, etc. I don't feel like we should be getting huge updates on a weekly basis simply because we pay a membership fee. In the past, the BTS have been rather disappointing. The created so much hype around upcoming content releases, only to have them not live up to our expectations, and to leave a lot of players hanging on to the false hope -- I.E., Soul Wars; the night this update came out, I was so excited to try it out -- it was made to seem like such an awesome game! I couldn't wait! In the end, though, I played one game the night it came out, and haven't played it since -- that's how disappointed in it I was. I think that Jagex is being a lot more honest now. With the Developement Diaries, they aren't getting our hopes up by promising content they can't deliver. They are giving us an honest inside look into what's going on behind the scenes. Instead of saying, "Hey, you guys, we've got this AMAZING quest coming out that'll put all other quests to shame!," they're saying, "You know, we've started work on a new Dwarf quest, that we think you guys will really like. We've still got a lot of work to do on it. We've only got a few concepts down so far." And as a quick sidebar to that, you have to consider: maybe they haven't released concept art or sketches yet because they don't have any concept art or sketches yet? Maybe nothing terribly exciting IS going on behind the scenes, and that's why the only thing they have us looking forward to is dungeon maps. I've been playing Runescape for a bit over eight years now, but it is still my favorite game -- I don't care what platform games come out, what new game I picked up at the game store the other day -- Runescape will always be my favorite. The current content is what keeps me going. I love logging in and walking around aimlessly, listening to other people chatting, working on various skills, poking my head into my favored Clan Chat, etc. In the past, though, whenever I have found myself getting bored with the game, I cancel my membership and take a month or so break from it. That way, I'll come back to the game with a fresh pair of eyes, and I won't be so tired from playing it all of the time -- even in the span of a month, a lot of subtle changes can be made to the game that'll make your experience a lot more fun, and renew your love of the game. Best of luck!

Tip.it
I must say... that's... odd to look at. It's just weird because I associate the look of Tip.it with Runescape only, so it's odd to see a bunch of information about LotR on it.

What movie(s) did you last see?
Just talking, what sort of film is that? No guns? No explosions? jk :? It's based off of a play consisting of nothing but dialogue...

Holiday Events fun? or used advertisment purposes??
 Good point. No F2P player is going to complain that they get to experience what Hunting is like (in the case of this latest event), or any other member skill -- it'd only be the members who would complain if the holiday events were limited to F2P skills.

A Nostalgic Look at Holidays Past
Some of my favorites: 2001 Christmas: I started playing RuneScape in 2001, and this was the first holiday event that I experienced. Although I didn't get a party hat, the Christmas cracker was really cool! 2002 Easter: Hehehe, I totally ate my egg ;-; But it was still fun. 2006 Easter: To this day, using this to turn into an egg makes me LOL. 2008 Halloween: My favorite holiday event. While the costume isn't my favorite, the whole experience of the event was so cool: the decorations, the gloomier and doomier atmosphere, the music, and, of course, the ever-annoying but ever-so-fun emote. Thanksgiving: Five words: Give Thanks - Best emote EVER. (I will never get tired of using this emote. EVER!!!)

Easter Carrot and More...
shameful Bumping for the sake of letting you know that I finished adding a few pictures (cog, pipes, etc.) Sorry about the size. I'm used to cropping the pics as small as I can ^-^ But I'll keep in mind that they need to be 40x40 from now on. Thanks!

wierd and wacky facts
This one caught my eye since I manage a movie theater :3 It's closer to 4.3km of 35mm film for your typical 2-hour movie. A two-hour film is on average 7 reels long. Each reel holds about 2,000ft of film. That puts the count at 14,000 feet, or, 4.3km. Still really interesting to think about!

How to know when you're over a game
[hide=Off Topic] :/ How is Merchanting and PKing not an "honest" method to making money...? You're not lying or being deceitful when you merchant or PK. You're just obtaining money in a different way. And to be honest, merchants and PKers still "make their money themselves." It doesn't just randomly appear in their banks.[/hide] More on-topic, I think you should just take a break from the game. When your membership runs out, enjoy some other stuff in life for a few months. Then you can come back to the game with a fresh set of eyes, and a renewed desire to play. I've been playing this game for over eight years, and I know I would have quit a looooong time ago if I hadn't taken various lengths of hiatus.
