No... he got arrested because he was standing up in the middle of the auditorium, while the film was playing, shouting out curse words at my customers who paid money to enjoy their film. He took his jacket off and had a huge swastika drawn onto his t-shirt, and was protesting in the middle of the film. It doesn't really bother me if someone is a neo-Nazi or not. It bothers me when they disturb my customers and cause a scene in my theater. At any rate, before the police even saw him, they knew who we were talking about... apparently he has quite the rap sheet. For all I care, half of the people who come into my theater could be neo-Nazis, and I wouldn't have a problem with it. But when you disturb my guests, you go.

We had some deranged neo-Nazi come watch it opening weekend at the theater I work at. He was standing up in the middle of the movie, raving about being the "new Hitler." We called the cops on him, and had him removed. :twss: Arrested him in the middle of the movie, in front of everyone else. The audience clapped. It was quite fun to see him slamming his head repeatedly into the window of the cop car, complaining about his cuffs being too tight.
  4. Not true, really. I'm a vegetarian, and I have no problem supporting myself while making a few dollars more than my state's minimum wage. If you do your research, you'll actually find that a vegetarian diet is cheaper than a diet that includes meat. Sure, at the grocery store you may initially pay a few extra cents per pound of food, but the food lasts longer than meat does, and it provides more nutrients for your body than meat does -- simply, in the long run, you get more bang for your buck. I would go into it more, but I already posted a few posts in a topic on this same subject... http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=775610&start=40
  5. How do you figure this..? The (American, anyways) meat industry vastly affects our environment in a negetive way. Also, when compared to what it takes to get a pound of meat onto the table, vegetables are far cheaper and easier to attain. If everyone ate only vegetables, they would still be just as cheap and easy to attain.
  6. [hide=Quote] [/hide] That seems a bit silly to me... While I agree that it's obvious that you gain maturity in logic and decision-making skills as you grow up, I hardly think it has anything to do with being 18 or not... If it was the day before your 18th birthday, you're saying that you don't have the logic or abilities to make a sane decision to get a piercing. But... 24 hours later, when you've officially turned 18, you magically gain all this logic? And I don't see how one type of piercing is any different than another. Ear piercings are no less "permanent" than nose piercings. You can take both out at any time in your life. And it's pretty unfair to say that anyone with a pierced nose is forced to have the life of a "starving artist." Once the piercing heals, you can take the jewelry out during the day, and take up any career you'd like.
  7. Just wait until you're 18. And do what you want! It kind of goes both ways..: If you're only considering getting your nose pierced because your friends are telling you to, I wouldn't suggest doing it. Any form of body modification should be based solely on your opinion. You shouldn't base what piercing/tattoo you get on what other's will think of it. I recently got my lip pierced, and I went through the whole "Well, everyone seems to get the left side of their lip pierced... I should too..." even though I have always wanted to get the right side pierced. I eventually threw all that nonsense out the door, and got the right side pierced like I wanted it done. As far as my tattoos, I don't ask people what they think about the tattoos I'm planning on getting. They're free to comment on the ones I have already, but they don't factor in to my decision-making process. At the same time, don't not get it pierced, just because people are telling you it looks "lame" or "gay." They can shove off if they don't like it, and it's pretty clear that anyone who thinks a nose piercing is "gay" is pretty immature. Try having a serious talk with your parents. Don't try to rebel and force them to give in to what you want. Best of luck!

  11. [hide=-.-] Re-read your own original post if you want to talk about being condescending, dude. What gives you the right to "call me out" for "posting something in ignorance?" You have no right to judge me and say I'm being ignorant, just because my views on literature genres differ from yours. I apologize if my original comment of "I won't bother" was rude... but really... you shot me down for having a different view than yours in the first place.[/hide]
  12. This is the most important update that you missed. ;) Jk. Phoenix summon? WGS?
  13. *sigh* I won't bother.
  14. I like how the words "BRITISH EXECUTIVE" have just been placed over the words "SCOTTISH EXECUTIVE." Internet scams are... meh :/
  15. I just skip over most of them, as they have no discussion value to me personally (Baby Thrown on Ground & Killed anyone?) However, obviously someone out there cares about the topic and is just wanting to share it with other people. While I don't want to sit there and read most of these articles, they do generally open the doors to discussion about serious issues (child abuse, violence, intolerance, etc.) A sub-forum would be cool, though. That way, the newsy people can still post their news, and the OT people can have a clutter-free forum.
  16. It can be. Historical fiction is any book set in a specific period in history. It doesn't have to be based around an actual event or a person - people have the wrong idea by saying this. While most historical fiction novels are based around real events or people, it isn't a "must." All of the people and events in a story can be completely fabricated, but it can still be considered historical fiction. For instance: with the novel The Mists of Avalon that I suggested a few posts up, almost all of the material was created by the author. It's deemed "historical fiction," however, because it is set in the time of the days of Arthur and his knights, and therefore, takes place during a historical time in history. Hope that explains it somewhat.
  17. Outlander by Diana Gabaldon (Scotland, 1945) The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer-Bradley (Britain, Arthurian legend) <-- *More towards historical fantasy* Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See (19th Century China) Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell: A Novel by Susanna Clarke (19th Century England) Gates of Fire by Steven Pressfield (Greece, 480 B.C.) - - - Edit: They're organized in order of recommendation. Outlander is such an amazing book, but it's a bit heavy and lengthy. Also, it's definently a book geared towards adults - there's some intense stuff in it that might not be school-appropriate. The Mists of Avalon is one of my favorite books that I own. It is terribly long, but it's a really cool book. The other three were good reads. Also, for the... whoever posted somewhere above... of course there are historical novels set in America >.> And historical fiction doesn't have to be a fictional story based around an actual event that occured in history - it can just be a fiction book set in a historical time period (ex., a fictional novel that takes place in the 60s could be considered historical fiction.)
  18. I just got back from screening Underworld 3: Rise of the Lycans. It was pretty cool... kept me entertained the whole time, and they stayed true to the backstory that they set up in the first film. (Bill Nighy is a god. GO VAMPIRES - BOO LYCANS!)
  19. I'm a manager at a movie theater, and so far, all is go on the current March 6, 2009 release date.
  20. I've heard numerous ways of how to try and fix this. 1. Try killing the elementals in order of lowest level > highest level 2. Kill one of each type (so, don't kill two of the same type in a row, and then move on to the next one, etc.)
  21. The one on Harmony Island is not an herb patch. Thank you! *dashes off to fix*
  22. First off, you "technically" need 32 Farming to plant Ranaar, but you can plant them at level 29 if you use a Garden Pie (+3 boost to Farming level.) There are 5 total herb patches in the game - one in Ardougne, Catherby, Falador, Port Phasmatys, and Troll Stronghold (you must have completed the My Arm's Big Adventure quest to use the Stronghold herb patch.) Essentially, you need to figure out a "route" that you want to take when you do herb runs. For instance, my herb run looks like this: 1. Ectophial to Port Phasmatys 2. Camelot teleport and run to Catherby patch 3. Run to Ardougne patch 4. Explorer ring (3) to Falador patch When you are Farming herbs, it's highly suggested that you always treat your herb patches with Supercompost before planting, and that you always weild Magic secateurs when harvesting your herbs. (You must have completed the Fairy Tales: Part 1 quest to obtain the Magic secateurs.) Following your designated "route," visit each patch and plant an herb seed. They all take roughly 75 minutes to grow, so this leaves plenty of time to go work on a quest, train another skill, or work on combat. Once 75 minutes or so has passed, simply travel on your route again. When you harvest the herbs from one patch, immediately Supercompost the patch and plant another seed. Then travel on to the next patch in your route. This way, you always have an herb growing in all available patches. Personally, I plant Toadflax. The herb seeds are insanely cheap (max of 569gp per seed on G.E. right now) and the profit is very nice (roughly 2.3K per clean herb). While the profit for selling clean Ranarr is far greater (6.6k per herb) than Toadflax, the risk of having no profit is greater (each herb seed costs about 25k. Compared to the low cost of Toadflax seeds, I know I would rather have my Toadflax herbs die and lose little gold.) You get about 25 exp. per herb seed you plant, and anywhere from 12.5 exp (Guam) to 224.5 exp (Torstol) per individual herb you pick. You receive 30.5 exp. for every Ranarr you pick. Since the least amount of herbs you can harvest from one patch is 5, this means that you're guaranteed at least 152.5 exp. for each Ranarr plant, assuming your plant doesn't die. The profit lies in the fact that you can get about 11-15 herbs per patch on occassion - upwards of 500 exp. for a single plant. I suggest that you just experiment with different herbs, and see which works best for you. Also, experiment with your farming route, and see what's most convinient for you. As for how to get to your desired level of Farming, planting Trees is very good, albeit slow, exp. Until you get to level 15 and can start planting Oak trees, I suggest you just plant every and any flower and allotment seed you get your hands on. - - - I hope I haven't been too boring and wordy! If you have any questions, please feel free to PM me here, or add me in-game: Serpent_Eye Happy Farming!
  23. pie! : D and glad to point out other people's mistakes >:3 very nice guide.
  24. Heh, I was sooooo close to taking a screenshot of that when I was doing it. Ty ^^;
  25. Just to expand a bit about the Seer's Headband: viewtopic.php?f=228&t=779936 - - - I was hoping we'd get the customizable magic menu, but there's always next time! Took me ages to remember where cider was sold >.>
