  1. I guess I just don't agree that there is a "right" reason to have sex. I'm also not Catholic, so I also don't hold any belief in contraceptives being sinful. Can you expand? I'm having trouble sorting out what you're getting at here...
  2. Can you exchange Penguin Points for cash? Maybe pickpocket some Master Gardeners, to get some herb seeds.
  3. Edit: I somehow missed your line about not having anything in MTK. - - - Sorry about your loss!
  4. Chem. Although I failed it both times I took it. \ There was something just... exciting about conducting the experiments, and although they could be a little... frustrating at times, solving the necessary equations was quite fun. Most sciences involve mathematics to some degree, so although it may be one of my least favorites of the "Big 4," it definently is useful.
  5. So... the fact that you're gay doesn't really matter to the Catholic church? They just... don't want you to be intimate with your lover... as the sex itself is sinful. That's just as silly as saying being gay is a sin.
  6. ...Ah. Well, I'm not going to quote that nonsense :P. What does "homosexual offender" mean anyways? Does it mean that being homosexual is offensive? Or that you can get away with committing a sin of the flesh, unless you're homosexual, in which case, you'd be punished? The Bible is very gray when it comes to the more important subjects as these >.<
  7. Sexually immoral? Check. Greedy? Check. Idolater? Check. Slanderer, drunkard, swindler? Check, check, check. Homosexual? -- No check. Guess it's not a sin, and that we're safe to eat with! :twss:
  8. If you're into the series, it'd also make an interesting Fullmetal Alchemist character :twss:. But in all seriousness, I think it mentions in the Bible about the city of Sodom being destroyed. Apparently Sodom was full of raging homosexual Sodomites, and God poured down his wrath upon them... or something. I don't know. But I do know that it doesn't say word-for-word that being gay is a sin.
  9. Ever read Prey? One of my faves. I've got that lying around somewhere, never bothered to read it. I agree on Jurassic Park and The Lost World, though. You should make a pointed effort to find your copy of Prey. It's top-notch Crichton. I own all of his works of fiction, and have read all but Eaters of the Dead - I'll get to that eventually, though. I highly suggest them all though! Congo was amazing, too. As was Next, although that was a real mind-twister... it's scary to think about patenting gene sequences, and finding out that a corporation can own part of your DNA..
  10. I don't mean to be Sir Spam-a-lot, but I edited my above post for a bit of clarification.
  11. I think it'd be more accurate to say "Christians." 8-) (But as said above ^, I think that's a whole 'nother can-o-worms..) And I don't know whether I should take your last statement as sarcastic, or literal. I'll side with literal, methinks. - - - Edit #2: To clarify, I don't mean to imply that all Christians are fake "Christians." I meant to say that the Bible is a very real, tangible thing... and shouldn't be put into quotes to lessen it... Whether you agree in the messages in the Bible or not, you can't deny that it is real... That's all I meant, Penguin. No hard feelings!
  12. These really aren't the same thing, and I don't think they should be compared to one another. But for the sake of your argument, I would say, Yes, it does prove that he didn't have a choice in the matter - there's a biological part to some people that make them need to steal. It really doesn't need to be debated though... Multiple gay people have posted in this topic, clearly stating that there was no "choice" involved in the matter of being homosexual - that's proof enough that it isn't a choice. People certainly don't have to agree with it still, I'll give them that, but it really is silly to argue that it's a choice. But to each his own, I suppose.
  13. rs2monster_id=77 Habitat - All across the Karamja jungle. - Jogre (Pothole) Dungeon - Ardougne Zoo
  14. I personally grow Toadflax. The seeds (currently) sell for about 500gp on the G.E. Assuming your patch doesn't become diseased and die, you'll at least get 5 herbs from every seed you plant. The current G. E. price for Clean Toadflax is 2,241gp. That's a total of about 11.2K gp for selling the 5 herbs. Pretty nice profit, considering the low cost of the seeds. As others have suggested, it's highly recommended to do Fairytale Part 1. As a reward from your quest, you receive Magic secatures, which increase the yeilds of all of your crops - not just herbs. Also, be sure to use compost (preferably Supercompost if available, but regular Compost is better than none) on all of your herb patches to increase the chances of growing them successfully. Farming is a pretty misunderstood skill for those who haven't tried it yet. Most people just assume that you have to stand at the patch alllll daaay looong watching and watering your crops. This isn't really the case. If you time it correctly, you can enjoy other skills such as Fishing and Fletching while waiting for your herbs to grow. PM me if you have more Farming questions - I don't have a crazy high level in it, but it's one of my favorite skills still! Good luck, and happy farming!
  15. I never at any point in my life decided that I would be gay. /proof. - - - And as far as the argument about overpopulation goes... homosexuality isn't something that sprung up suddenly when the world population hit 5B. This is something that has always been a part of society - even way back in history, when the world wasn't overpopulated. It's a silly argument. Gay people didn't suddenly beam down from space to save the planet from exhausting its resources.
  16. The term "gay," as I said in my post above, actually applies to both male and females. However, it's generally applied to males only. But by definition, a gay person isn't strictly male. The term "lesbian" really just gained popularity only to seperate male homosexuals from female homosexuals. Just... uh... fyi... don't mean to be picky.
  17. No... I think you'll find that people here refer to males attracted to other males as gay, not homosexual. The term homosexual isn't applied to men only. And in fact, even the term "gay" shouldn't be applied to men only. Only the term "lesbian" is gender-specific.
  18. Karamja Island. The exact location varies, depending on what color of gecko you want: Green and Orange geckos can be found Northwest of the Ship Yard. Blue geckos can be found near the Nature altar, slightly North (as well as slightly West) of Shilo Village. Red geckos can be found only in the Kharazi Jungle, which you can only access upon starting the Legends quest.
  19. I honestly don't know anyone well enough to have a "favorite." I really appreciate the people who help me out in H&A, though, when I happen to have a question!
  20. Maybe you'll get a dictionary for Christmas this year! :twss: Edit: Sarcasm aside... *cough* What I mean to say is that the labels "gay," "lesbian," and "bisexual" all fall under the category of homosexuality.
  21. Valkyrie. You MUST watch it! I'm generally loathe to historical war movies, but this kept me on the edge of my seat! On top of that, for anyone under-age, it's rated PG-13! So no worries there. Comes out Christmas day.
  22. Most people can't afford that luxury, I wouldn't blame them for buying whatever is the cheapest just to feed their family. Only after you permanently have a roof above your head, have a job, money, safety.. Then you may have time to think about ethical food choices and whether to buy the healthier alternative or the cheap one. Until then you'll likely just want to stay alive. It's pretty self-evident eating organic & good quality food is better for your health, but I doubt a lot of people on tip.it, especially those on a students typical budget, can make that choice even if they want to. It's so much easier to grab a pack of chicken ribs and microwave it, than pay $6 more for some premium organic tofu, free-range eggs and fair-trade tomatoes for a vegetarian meal. I even dare say, special diets not arising out of allergy, are a 100% western phenomena (or of well-off people in general). You will be hard pressed to find people living in poverty making choices about what they eat, & refusing to consume what's available cheaply. Most definently! I just wanted to point out that, whenever it becomes possible for someone to invest in it, organic foods are a great option. I myself actually don't even buy organic foods - very rarely, in fact.
  23. Bisexuality most certainly enters the equation. It's just a sad fact that when the word "gay" is said, most people just assume it's a relationship between two men. That's why there has been little-to-no discussion in this topic about lesbian, bisexual, or transgendered individuals.
  24. You'll find that a majority of vegetarian's don't choose their lifestyle because they think meat tastes bad. I'll admit: even to this day, I can be walking down the street, and catch a smell of someone BBQing something, and I find myself thinking that it smells good, and that it'd probably taste good. But that doesn't really mean anything... The animals tasting bad isn't a problem, obviously. So when you say things like, "Chicken is tasty, no problem there," it doesn't really make any sense in the long-run. And I'm not really "missing out" on anything by not eating meat. In fact, I think I've tasted a wider variety of vegetarian foods than I have meat-dishes. People just assume that a vegetarian diet is boring, plate after plate of lettuce, when in fact, there are a lot of rich, tasty, and healthy dishes out there to try. And I don't see any logic behind your last statement. You don't really care how animals are treated... you just... care if they're killed in a humane way? So... you do care how they're treated? You can't have it both ways, really. Most animals raised for human consumption are raised in terribly cramped conditions, and they are both treated and killed in the most brutal ways imaginable. And in the long run, you'll find that, sure, although organic and "healthy" foods may cost more up-front, you will eventually find that you can sustain your energy on eating smaller portions of them, and that the food itself lasts longer, so you're making fewer trips to the grocery store.
  25. ...wh..what?
