  1. They probably just put a random number in and only fix it if a significant portion complain.
  2. They should have done what they do best, ignore them.
  3. The spiteful side of me is happy sof is being used for evil.
  4. Would look a hell of a lot better if they weren't held over the shoulder, but that will probably be fixed, unless of course the hordes of players that voted for the current d scim get their hands on it, they'll keep it just because it looks "badass".
  5. Dungeoneering is still best trained with a team. Toolbelt has taken some of the hassle out of buying all the tools at the start of a floor and "key belt" frees up inventory space while letting everyone open key doors instead of a dedicated keyer. Nothing much to report on solo dungeoneering unfortunately. You can join a slayer group with a friend and co-op slay now, not much in the way of rewards unless you like pets, and the xp and points received is proportionate to the amount of monsters you killed so it doesn't do much for speed of training. To improve on that setup you can buy a whip vine which boosts the whip's stats a bit and adds a special and poison ability. Also steadfast boots are better than dragon, but only in attack stats. They're also relatively expensive at 48m as of this post so not really worth it unless you have a lot of extra cash to throw around. Other than that there's been a few new bosses, (Queen Black Dragon, Nex, Glacors) a level 80 armor set for all 3 styles which are extremely expensive currently, and of course the evolution of combat should be out by year's end which is nothing less than a total overhaul of all combat items along with a few new features. The beta is open to everyone friday-sunday. Yes, as far as I know it's almost universally despised.
  6. Is it really that much better considering with runite bolts it only has 527 damage? Even a dragon 2h crossbow or crystal bow does over double it's damage. Maybe I'm missing something obvious, but crossbows have been one of the few things I'm disappointed with in beta.
  7. I hate that I can't even see/use the word spin in real life without feeling sorry for this game.
  8. Just adding this in there, after eoc is released chaotic longsword is arguably better since most abilities do fixed damage based on your current weapon strength, and for now are not hindered in any way by a slow weapon. Might not be a good idea to rush to get rapier right away unless you don't mind a slightly weaker weapon until you can get the longsword. Edit: nevermind
  9. Sometimes I miss my black triangles.
  10. It definitely helps a lot, and with the generally decreased danger in dungeoneering ssh is almost totally useless now so there's not much of a reason to not have armor.
  11. Anyone know if spirit shield's 30% damage reduction applies to abilities?
  12. After flying non stop for over 5 years I'd be walking a lot too.
  13. There's a load of them in Karamja volcano resource dungeon, shouldn't be much worse than goblins or other weak monsters.
  14. Torva is still definitely worth having, most 1 on 1 fights I've had where my opponent had comparable skill (not button mashing abilities) have come very close, in the area of 5-10% health difference. Torva will give you the edge when you're pushing the limits of your gear fighting against an equal opponent, and a more reliable one at that since many abilities do a set damage based on your weapon so random hits are less likely to interfere. At the same time though, nex gear is only around 5% better than the next best thing compared to it's past, and current 40% lifepoint boost alone, not counting it's exceptional stats.
  15. First thing I thought of as well. Will also miss the one with the freaky stalk eyes, both pretty unique when it came to demons.
  16. Pretty excited the direction nex armor is going at the moment. It's moving towards being an actual level 80 armor, the difference from the next best thing (bandos) being around 5% increase in lifepoint boost instead of a solid 40% lifepoint boost on the live game, not even taking into account it's substantially higher stats. This really opens the door to seeing level 90 armor sets without them being game-breakingly powerful.
  17. The main problem I see is that people are basing their argument on their own character and experience. If you can make 5m/hr then great, but you're not the player group instancing gwd bosses would target. Of course it won't be the best option for you personally, but for the people who do things like barrows for money it will be a great opportunity. For the people who want to do gwd but have no chance because of crashing, things like nex and qbd might as well be secret magic.
  18. Wasn't there a "challenges" option on the old goal system? The one where it would randomly generate boxes with either "level up x skill" or "complete x quest" on it? It's a solid option for an update a lot of players would take part in. If it proves impossible then so be it, but I don't see how it would considering there are many instanced bosses along with some instanced team areas, dungeoneering, stealing creation and clan citadels being a few.
  19. I'm hoping that they do this sort of thing with all higher-tier equipment. Craftable (But not exactly easy to require) item that degrades into nothing, or a permanent item that's considerably harder to get (With things like Nex armors becoming permanent). EoC has a lot of opportunities to revive the crafting skills with things like this, and it's kind of sad that Jagex is (supposedly) adding many of the new items through monster drops instead. I'd rather wait until the "Evolution of Crafting" than have 2 new armor sets that need random craft/smith levels to make. That doesn't fix crafting, it just makes all other armor look bad.
  20. Seems that the difference between Bandos and Torva is almost exactly half an iron set. Makes me feel not as bad about not being able to afford it anymore.
  21. Oh, if it was the only method for making money at high levels I'd be a lot more open to it being only on instanced worlds. That's not the case though, high levels have off the top of my head nex, qbd and kiln which as far as I know are all better money than gwd. I'm not saying it's a perfect option, but I believe it's the better of the two. It matters because there's a readily available option to open content to a large number of players while having minimal impact on the relatively small group that monopolizes it now (they can move to something that's more profitable). The only reason I hear against instanced worlds is that gwd items will drop in price, which I don't understand since gwd isn't the best money in the game. And for the record I'm max combat with more than enough money to buy all the correct gear.
  22. Except it's "high level" because it was made 5 years ago when the amount of maxed players was a fraction of what it is today, not because it's challenging. There's a difference between outdated and difficult.
  23. You are forgetting how old gwd is, five years now. When it was released, and for a good while after, it was end game content. There were no overloads, no chaotics, no nex gear, no familiars (summoning came out 3 months later, and many players had no familiars/low level familiars for awhile, obviously). Considering the best armour before bandos/arma was barrows, few had access to bandos/arma for some time as well. So for a long time, gwd was pretty difficult. It took years for people to be able to solo over a hundred kills (safe spots aside). I do agree that at this point, gwd bosses are stupidly easy, however. And hopefully that will be changed at least slightly, as refrenced in the bts. Yes, but it is mid level content now. Would just be nice if people who are mid level could kill the now mid level bosses. Bosses as of now are... Giant Mole King Black Dragon Kalphite Queen Tormented Demons Glacors Dagannoth Kings 4 Gwd generals Corporeal Beast Nex Queen Black Dragon Fight Kiln (debatable if boss or not) Anything above Tds and Glacors you need to be maxed or near maxed in the respective stats to keep your spot/get the kill. Anything below and it's not worth killing. Tds and Glacors themselves require hard quests. I don't understand why everyone is so adverse to having a now mid level part of the game opened to mid level players.
  24. Have you ever tried to punch a bird? http://awkwardzombie...=0&comic=081610 I should probably ice barrage him instead.....or ROCK barrage.
  25. It's not as if maxed players can't just do nex or kiln if instanced gwd proves less lucrative than before. Yes, it's a tradeoff...but many more will benefit than suffer. The real problem is that gwd is played as end-game content rather than mid-game. It's quite obvious when someone can camp at bandos for over a hundred kills by themselves that the boss wasn't designed for them. Let's let the people it was originally designed for have a chance.
