  1. That makes sense too, since bots don't buy spins they could sell it as a "bot nuke".
  2. That's because it's just a cover up for their real secret weapon, the bot nuke. I mean how does it work? When is it planned for release? What is it's yield? Nobody knows...
  3. Just really happy I decided to train other skills instead of thieving.
  4. They already told us everything relevant, why can't something that's biggest boon is a 3% xp boost within line-of-sight dead? If nothing else it's not worthy of being a front page update.
  5. So after 9 weeks of resource gathering, if your clan is doing something that you also want to do you can get a small boost from what looks like a giant lava tree? Secret weapon indeed.
  6. Unless you're morality incarnate, you doing the same just makes it an appealing option. On a basic level I'd imagine that they feel it's immoral because in the terms of service everyone agrees to abide by it says you aren't allowed to sell in-game items. So by turning around and selling them you're being dishonest aka immoral. Morality at it's core however is a man made concept, so different people will find different things immoral.
  7. There's your problem, you're using a single style and maging in melee armor versus a mage. The first time I fought him I had a similar experience with max gear, but then I came back with the proper technique and destroyed him.
  8. Void is level 42 armor, now it has level 42 stats. Protection prayers are also around level 42, but they're extremely overpowered in the live game for their requirement. Besides, barrows is the rare exception where beta is harder.
  9. Third gazer I've seen on beta. All smalls, all 4:4 or lower, and all on either abandoned 1 or furnished. Wonder what Jagex is up to...
  10. - Killing hill giants southwest of Gnome Stronghold because I saw on Runehq that they dropped dragon spears - Killing flesh crawlers for dust runes and herbs - Getting master white knight rank so I could buy white armor sets on the cheap and sell them for massive profits (some sold for 10x what I paid) I got my first whip this way - Camped cave horrors with my cousin - Big net fishing on Catherby beach Gooood times.
  11. I could imagine something a bit more like mile marker xp rewards where the system could see how far you've ran. Maybe certain areas like ramps, ladders, current agility obstacles, etc. would offer subtle bonuses to that xp gain over time. I would like to imagine this all being calculated over maybe a 1-5 hour period where you are granted experience. I think that would be cool because it grands you experience how I feel agility should be used. This is just one concept though I'd imagine there are better ones. You mean like Oblivion where you got athletic xp for running/swimming and acrobatics for jumping? Only problem with that is everyone would either be 99 agil or it would be so horrendously slow that it's not even worth training and therefor not worth implementing in the first place.
  12. Agility update: Dwarven engineered exercise bikes for your "home gym" room in player owned houses requiring 58 construction and 68 smithing for the room and bike respectively along with completion of the final Dwarf quest. This quest has you fending off ferocious attacks from embittered agility trainers bent on destroying the prototype for this new invention before it devalues their blue capes forever. Take the fight to them and you just might learn how to mix a new untradeable potion, the "Elixir of Grind" which grants a temporary boost to Runecrafting, Fishing and Agility xp! On a serious note, I'm wondering how they'll implement it without it being the same "run around and click" with higher xp or totally afk like Runespan.
  13. I've done at least 30 solo smalls looking for spear and got hope or dreadnaught (rarely) every time. Pretty sure it's bugged.
  14. I'd love that. Would be nice to try out some different setups after eoc goes live, but I have hex so no way I'm going to destroy that which effectively locks me into range.
  15. Pretty much sums up everything I asked and more, thanks. Sounds somewhat annoying to me, and I've seen a couple of YouTube videos of the Evolution of Combat and all I've had to hear about it was nasty reviews. Maybe 1 in every 500 people said something positive about it.. Give it a try yourself first. Play like you would in normal rs, do some slayer tasks, minigames etc, not just run to Lumbridge and grab all the free gear then alch spirit shields. Oh, and reserve judgement on things like Soulwars and Castlewars (directed more towards the former) as everyone is running around in max gear now, essentially the same as everyone wearing no armor which cuts out a big part of the update in that armor plays a huge role.
  16. Tripling is not enough. And 95 prayer is hardly a requirement. It's not at all useful for pathing, for example, where you take damage without dealing any (also means no food drops). As for the farming > pray/herb > mh cycle, it's the natural cycle in RS at the moment. You have to do something without cash to make cash, and the thing that requires the least cash to get up to an acceptable gp/hr happens to be farming (and MTK etc.). A game should never become linear, as that means the replayability of a game really goes down the drain. Clever game design doesn't make certain method best: instead a whole range of methods are equally good to beat the game. (and in RS getting xp is more or less beating the game). I don't see a way to accomplish that without making either everything free or everything exactly the same just giving xp in different skills. Players will naturally gravitate first towards the cheaper option, then to the less monotonous task. We're talking about a game where people will pass up an excellent method like monkey knife fighters for Pyramid Plunder because the xp is marginally better, or a bit less click intensive. Also, I've never found rpgs to be particularly non linear, even games like Elder Scrolls and Fallout which are lauded for being open ended and having massive replayability have their best weapon and armor tiers, best spells, best potions, best techniques...when the focus is on the destination and not the journey people will chose the shortest route.
  17. It was obviously designed by Satan to test our faith, so winning would defeat that purpose.
  18. Been trying to get a beta doomcore to see if it was 1 handed too. Had high hopes it would be as we have 2 magic shields but no 1 handed magic weapons. Missed opportunity right there, but maybe they'll change it.
  19. Cheese wheel rolling must be the worst Runescape minigame I've had the misfortune of playing. At least it's semi afk points thought. Race on the other hand is pretty fun, and amazing xp of course. Does anyone know how the ring works for that, specifically does it boost the xp recieved or the cap?
  20. Mark of Hazeel (just a personal favorite) Default boots No shield slot item No weapon except when mining or woodcutting No fury Darkmeyer or Ahrim's hood if you must have one, reaper hood isn't detailed enough Dominion gloves are good if you like particles, if not you could try some of the default clothes that give you gloves and change the color
  21. Without bots Soulwars is just Castlewars without a flag. From someone who has 6 Tz-Rek-Jads, the first game I tried was...less than satisfying, but that's probably because everyone is "testing" nex sets. Bad idea Jagex.
  22. Friend and I killed them fine using a melee tank setup and steel titan to switch his prayer. From what I've seen titan spec always changed his prayer to range. The only problem was that they were doing so much damage that we needed a shield.
  23. So, I completed the task, but my friend has 33 more to go. I don't get it. Edit: Seems it only starts counting towards friend's kills when they start task.
  24. Torag's hammer is now just a hammer version of Dharok's axe. Funny because they took the near immortal master warrior's dual wielded weapons and made them a single large weapon, but any lay person can pick up two bronze swords and fight with them effectively. It should really be the reverse.
  25. I'd rather them just expand on the defender as an offhand weapon and leave dual wielding to weapons like claws and Torag's hammers.
