  1. Really hope so, it just won't be Armadyl gwd if people are stabbing him to death with melee weapons.
  2. The good news: Gwd update looks great The bad news: I won't be able to utilize it for a long time because every world will have all 4 bosses packed with 5+ 138s totally maxed. Why are there no instanced bosses again?
  3. Watch him still be "flying just out of reach" of my melee weapons.
  4. I'm betting on them saying hell with the lore and just making 4 impressive swords.
  5. At 0:12 on the right you can see updated Pernix, Virtus, and some players wearing what looks like Torva boots.
  6. Ok then. A *significant amount* of updates and/or features related to the wilderness focus on creating risk for skillers which directly benefit pkers.
  7. Just because that's the only thing you experience as a skiller does not mean it's the only thing pkers ever do. I suspect that if you even bothered to look into pking, you'd be very surprised. EDIT: I can't even believe you cited rune rocks pking as a means of vilifying pkers. Seriously? It's not like there aren't at least a dozen different safe spots available to them or anything. And if you get pked on f2p while at rr by anything less than a clan then you deserved to die. I mean, wow. I didn't know this was still a problem in 2012. What? I'm vilifying Jagex for situating things like the wilderness agility course, King Black Dragon, Chaos Elemental and abyss among other things in the wilderness to essentially stock a shooting gallery for pkers. I said nothing to suggest that pkers cause this, and really couldn't care less if they want to kill me if I step into the wilderness to pk. However, I have a problem for example with Jagex making the forinthry dungeon multi combat so that 15 mages can burst in and kill me in two seconds flat for a couple 1 dose potions because they find it *fun*. Because of this I'll 1 item with only an attack strength and prayer potion. This of course means I have no chance and get a death approximately every 15 minutes. This is not risk, it's just annoying, and since "wilderness is for killing players", I shouldn't even be there in the first place.
  8. Then how come they mainly focus on getting skillers and not player killers into the wilderness? Pkers get things like the crucible and bounty hunter with convenient banks and safe zones, and skillers get to chop trees in the middle of an open field, or run the gauntlet of ancient mages trying to craft the same runes being used against them. Yeah yeah, risk vs reward. The same risk from which death follows only under extreme circumstances for a boss hunter who stands to make millions, but looms ever present for someone looking for penguin points worth ~2k xp. The "balance" here has been gone for years, but forcing players in front of a firing squad in order to get their 15k rune ore just creates frustration, not rewarding gameplay.
  9. I have to agree, it's pretty sad when I go to revs in a beta world and still get pked.

You mean the tar covered cardboard box look?
  11. From what little I've read on the subject, gambling is the driving force behind keeping people subbed. You get them hooked on easy level ups and near instant gratification at the beginning, then roll out the random drop tables and long term goals. In this sense every new monster is essentially a roulette wheel with new prizes which players will feverishly spin in the hopes of winning big and reaching their next goal. It really is a brilliant plan, but unfortunately blurs the line between gambling and gaming (mostly mmo) addiction.
  12. If they actually stick to this then I have a lot of hope for the future of the game. Unfortunately due to the past year's track record I'll believe it when I see it.
  13. About what you say about the bank space update: Exactly my thought as well. They're really pushing this (too) far now. I bet that we before New Year's Eve will have seen them pushed this even further. I have a feeling that along with EoC we'll see the first signs of buyable weapons and armor. Releasing them alongside Runescape's "biggest update ever" will certainly soften the blow and I believe they've pulled stunts like this before, though I can't remember with what.
  14. It's essentially a series of fixes for broken parts of the game. I mean yeah, a lot of people will throw a fit because they can't 1 hit their opponent or gain a giant advantage because their main gave their pure dragon claws, or even (and I've actually heard this one) the idle stance is different. Most of these people will never be happy no matter what because their rose tinted glasses are permanently bolted to their skull. Of course I'm not exactly unbiased here so if I'm missing something, I'd like to know, but I really can't find anything wrong with EoC that isn't rooted in personal opinion. Have you seen the female heads already? Yes, they're pretty stupid looking though I still prefer the new models to the old sway-with-the-wind-while-rocking-head ones.

  16. Pretty sure this is new. It seems that Jagex is committing great effort to get people addicted to gambling.
  17. They should just start selling useful things and get it over with.
  18. The last time I tried, rune thrownaxes and javelins had higher damage than I think ccb with diamond bolts, around 700-800 damage total. Thing is they had something like 4 range so they were a pain to use in castlewars where I tried them. Hoping we get off hand versions of at least axes, they're one of my favorite weapons but have never been worth using. Pures are abusing a broken part of the game for their benefit, that's less a play style and more bug abuse. The rest I agree with, Jagex isn't cracking down on pures by fixing defence any more than they were cracking down on players by fixing the penguin points bug, multiple corp bugs, or any other bug, they're just fixing their game. When pures start to be banned in droves people can complain that "jagex hates pures".
  19. I suggest you brush up on RuneScape lore. The whole point of the rune stone is that since humans were not capable of magic on their own, Guthix created rune stones to allow them to channel it in with training. When the God Wars ended, the rune supply had been drained and the gods had long since departed. Over time, the Freminik discovered that the Stone of Jas had left behind the essence stone, which they found could create runes. So no, there are no humans capable of magic naturally, but that's the way the lore was written so both Jagex and the players now have to deal with it. Yes I know humans on runescape need runes to cast magic, what I meant was that dependency on runes makes runescape mages weak relative to mages in other games/fantasy/myth etc. I really don't have a problem with runes being in runescape, but having to buy each rune then use 10 or more for certain spells is ridiculous, especially since mages are just as effective as warriors and rangers. Runes as consumable ammunition are like making warriors take food which they need to eat after every kill to keep up their strength.
  20. They honestly shouldn't even have runes since all it does is encourage people not to train magic. If you need to use magic stones to cast magic, then I'm sorry but you're not a mage.
  21. Mind runes already have limited to no use except for making magic arbitrarily expensive. Bloods and deaths will still be used for ancients which are the only really important ones in my opinion.
  22. Since people can't possibly know how you want to play unless you tell them, they assume you want the best method. Most do. When you're worried runecrafting will become less viable, it implies you were using the best method because if you were doing something like crafting chaos runes you'd be using a method so bad you'd probably have reasons other than efficiency for doing it and thus not care about a decrease in value of the runes. So the only thing to take away from your post is that you think crafting chaos/death/blood runes is a good method and so people try to inform you, only to be told that "they don't let anyone play how they want to". That's how I see it anyway. As for the question, no, nothing has been said as far as I know and I doubt it will be since Runecrafting seems to be shifting from the money making skill it was around 2006 to a generic "fast xp no profit" skill.

You actually got mad at him? Entertainment like this is the only reason to train in crowded places.
  24. Estoc replied to mikeizmo's topic in Help and Advice
It is, if you go on beta now you get a refund for augury rigour and ccb.
  25. The issue with that is that your advice is subjective to your own personal idea of fun. He asked a question about range slayer - so apparently he likes that. He even stated he tried to slay all tasks using ranging. Please for the love of god, how much struck in a world of "fun is subjective should never be in help topics & everything anyone should say is cold hard facts"; tip.it seems to start to alienate me more and more. Actually who rs community ever since wilderness removal seems to start more and more be not about fun & actually evading fun in discussions. He wouldn't be asking a question about how to best do something if he didn't value being efficient.
