  1. My results didn't surprise me, and it was an enjoyable quiz. Recognized a name too  :
  2. People can and will type how they want, but I won't even bother responding if they can't write at least at a middle school level. Typing isn't difficult, and the time it takes to type out "you" is only fractions of a second longer than it takes to type "u." Finding your shift key is even easier, capitalize your "I's." I tend to give people a break in-game because the chat bar is only so long, but on the forums, there's no excuse. You'll look more intelligent and maybe you'll get a little more respect than what is typically seen on these forums if you take the time to make a well-written, well thought out post.
  3. This. That's an incredible amount of experience for a skill with no great rewards or incentive to train past 70, and good luck on getting 200m xp!
  4. I don't think you can directly compare the "values" of the 2 rings. Since you have to train Dungeoneering to get the Ring of Vigour, you have to factor in what that experience is worth, which varies from person to person. And not everybody can make ~1m per hour. For somebody with lower stats who doesn't have access to the best moneymaking methods, the Ring of Vigour may be a better choice. On a less related note, about how much time would I have to spend playing Mobilising Armies to imbue my Zerker? I've never played it since going through the tutorial, but I can't imagine that it's worth a measly +4 to strength.
  5. Coming from somebody whose only 90+ combat stat is Magic. I have to disagree. I beat Nomad a few weeks ago on my second try, using melee. I tried ranged the first time, and even with 99 ranged I still didn't even manage to get him down to the point where he heals. I used a whip my next time and it was much easier. Use accurate style, wear dhides, and go after him. If you are having trouble with the "beserk stage" at the end, all I can really recommend is training defence. I didn't use more than 2 doses of brew at that stage due to his attacks being so inaccurate, and I'm only 94 defence. Your other option would be to use the "hit and run" strategy that Tip It's guide mentions. Good luck!
  6. Just sold it for 2.2m, rangers, ranger ammy + archer ring. just gotta wait for 4hr limit to go before I sell those items :) The 4-hour limit only applies to items bought and sold on the G.E. If you got them in a trade, you can sell them on the Grand Exchange instantly.
  7. Great guide Saru! Although I realize it is under construction, I'd just like to point out a few things. - Be aware of what you are risking before you go down there. I know it seems obvious, but the Staff of Light does not have a very high value and will usually be lost on death unless you have some extremely cheap gear. - The Staff of Light special is incredibly useful for killing Dharok without prayer. If you have Dharok in the tunnels, you may only want to spec Karil 3 times so you can use the Staff of Light special when you find Dharok in the tunnels. No need to use a prayer pot, just kill him like you would Guthan or Torag. - Somebody else already covered the capes: SW cape, Fire cape, and God capes are better than trimmed skillcapes. However I prefer the look of the skillcapes as well. - A holy wrench is helpful to bring for a few extra prayer points per dose. I'm interested to see the end product once you are done renovating.
  8. Malk, Warren, Tip It, and Myself catching rune ess mining bots: Apparently the cannon (belonging to Warren) prevents them from leaving the shop.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Jagex has ever given out the drop rates of an item. That being said, you can't take any drop rate stated by another player as truth and expect a whip every 500 kills like Mr. 99Slayerawesomedude says. Don't expect the rare items, or you'll never get them. "A watched pot never boils." As for disconnecting and dying, it happens to all of us. Complain to your ISP if it happens frequently, or pay for a faster connection. All you can do is keep playing, things will even out eventually. I try to think of Runescape (and life, to an extent), like a deck of cards. Everybody gets dealt this deck of cards throughout the time they play. Some people get their Kings and Aces early on, others get dealt 2s, 3s, and other low cards until much later when they start getting a lot of face cards. Just keep going and your luck is bound to improve. By the way, thanks for posting this. I've been at a loss trying to come up with an activity to do in game, and I think I'll go do some Barrows runs. Wish me luck!
  10. This was a fun little quest. The chemistry part was very fun to figure out although pretty easy once you knew what to do. I can't wait for the next one!

When he's offscreen, you really need to be able to do it by sound. But if you can see him and are having trouble, try just leaving magic prayer on and switching to range only when he raises his feet to stomp. After you see the 0, switch back to magic prayer. This is similar to how you melee Jad.
  12. Thanks, I'm not sure how I missed the table in his guide showing alternate gear and familiars. [/bonehead mistake]
  13. I say bank it and move on with your daily activities until it reaches a price that you are willing to sell it for.
  14. You are completely right; although I don't see many people angry about it. I think disappointed would be a better term. Personally, I wasn't disappointed at all as I didn't expect any new super-powerful or useful armor. The new releases fit in perfectly with what we already have. Blessed D'hide in Armadyl and Bandos flavour can be put to good use at the GWD, but other than that, not very much of it is very useful. But looking back at the old treasure trail rewards, how much of it was very practical in the first place? Zammy books are good for low levels and for rangers still, and Zamorak/Saradomin d'hide is still used at GWD. And the cloaks and mitres even see some use in certain situations, such as rock lobsters. But the rest of it? Hardly ever seen or used. Sure the 3rd Age stuff has nice stats and looks amazing, but due to prices only sees very limited use. I'm pleased with the update and it will provide plenty of new rewards for treasure hunters to potentially earn some money from.
  15. Great guide, I'm going for 99 right now. Although at my current xp rate, I need about 600 grey chins more than your chart says to go from 93-94 (170xp per chinchompa). I realize the number is approximate though, and I'm using snakeskin boots instead of ranger boots too. I bought 36,000 grey chins and started at level 91, so we'll see where that gets me. Also, a quick note to anybody chinning. If you get to ape atoll and need to tele out before starting your trip, UN-EQUIP your greegree first. I lost my only one this way and had to go through the process of getting a new monkeyspeak amulet and greegree before I could start chinning. Apparently if you teleport with a full inventory and the greegree equipped, it just disappears. I checked the ground as soon as I arrived at my house, and outside the portal, and it was gone. I was angry to say the least.
  16. "Put ls on for a kill" *Other player gets hilt* D'oh! :wall: Very nice, keep it up!
  17. Don't worry Malk, I'm back. Anyways, I've really only had 1-2 in-game friends that I talked to on a regular basis, and who I was close with. We were a trio of sorts. We had similar levels and similar interests, got along well, and did a lot of stuff together in-game. One of them quit a few months ago and the other hardly gets on anymore. The game is a lot less fun to play solo, and I've been trying to convince both of them to start playing more. I haven't really found anybody else who I really "clicked" with like we did. Besides those two guys, I've really never cared if a friend has quit this game. Sure it sucks ot see somebody leave, but it's easily forgotten.
  18. What's a 'Dragon Archer Hat'? Reward for killing a certain number of Chompy birds. http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=chompy_hunting.htm
  19. World 99 is still having problems, but those of us in chat are having success with World 115.
  20. The friends lists are back up, but only an elite few (such as myself) are able to get into clan chats. There's 6 of us in Lady Heinous' chat right now.
  21. Why do we need to be different? In this case, I don't see how being different helps our community.
  22. Ragmar covered a lot of the things that bother me. Another would be people who think that "alot" is a word. Another forum that I frequent has a very strict set of rules that includes proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling. As much as I'd love this to be implemented on every other forum that I visit, I don't see it happening. Is it really that hard to type out "you" instead of "u?" If English is your first language, there is no reason that you can't write at a middle school level just because you're on the internet. Even if you aren't the smartest person in the world, at least put some effort into it. You don't have to be perfect, but if you want others to respect you and bother to read what you've posted, it needs to be halfway decent And remember, "I" is always capitalized when referring to yourself!
  23. Sounds like I bought my ZGS at the perfect time. Now we wait.
  24. Saifz is back! Gratz on the level and 1800 total. See you around.
