New Skill Speculation - Shape Shifting
nerdboyxxx replied to Central_Keeper's topic in General Discussion
Would be fun, but I can't see it as a skill. It can be tied into all f them and could benefit combat in some way, but too much back-tracking and phasing out old items such as the gree-gree. Still, it sounds like an interesting concept but has been done too many times for it to be made into an individual skill :). -
16-Feb-10 Familiarisation (POST YOUR CLUES!)
nerdboyxxx replied to Toad's topic in General Discussion
rewards look good, I'm trying to get to 57 summoning so this will speed it up a lot :D. I always like D&D, they were a nice way to kill time while woodcutting... But I haven't found a shooting star before... Guess I'm not looking hard enough. Anyway, I'll probably give it a go once I train Summoning. Hopefully it's a bit of fun also :). -

Skills and the Economic Environment
nerdboyxxx replied to Grimy_Bunyip's topic in General Discussion
I don't need money to be honest. People grind for money in this game, and end up quitting because they don't have anything to do with it. But, if merchanting and economics are your kin of thing, then I can see why you do it. I, too, enjoy economics and to a lesser extent commerce, but I don't really care for it much in runescape. I made my first 10M cashpile off merchanting, but I let it go and eventually stopped altogether around a year ago to focus on skills. I might return to merchanting one day, but training calls. Also, I don't care for efficiency so much as saving money. I plan to farm herbs all the way to 99 farming AND beyone to get 99 herblore, then switch over to runecrafting and do nats from 44-99. I am also using LRC at the moment to train mining because it offers a profit of around 50M and I can do it for hours at a time without having to take constant breaks for my sore fingers. Basically, I do whatever may maximise profit or I find fun at the time rather than analysing prices of primary/secondary produce from skills and doing it that way. Even though it is pretty cool to work out how much it will save you in time, or in money, or even how much you might profit that little bit more over everyone else using the "popular methods", I tend to just go with my instincts. But of course, everyone should play the game they want to play it. Nice work on the first post ;). -
the most efficient and effective way to make money in f2p
nerdboyxxx replied to drixoman's topic in Help and Advice
If you want to get to mining rune, try mining coal/mith/addy in the mining guild/Falador mine and banking. Yes, it will take a long time (actually, that's an understatement) but you can make around 15-20M getting to 85 from around 60 I believe? Anyway, that will kick start your cash and allow you to train some other skills, than whenever you need cash again you can do a couple of hours rune mining and get 600K-1M :). Good luck! -
Don't use it on construction, it's less useful than herblore, for example, if you can use extreme potions. In terms of the most useful, unless you plan of going slayer for a few months use them on summoning. It is used with all skills, and will be required for some activities if you want to do them efficiently (for example, nat runecrafting). Of course, you could also use them on the skill that you hate training the most :P.

If you are looking for amazing experience, Ivy. Always go Ivy :P. BUT, keep in mind that you can make back all the cash (as zaaps said) because it'll take less than a month to get 99 off them (but that's just an example, if you were only going for say 80 to 90, then you'd get it in a couple of weeks). If you are serious and want to make some cash from training, then you can't go past eucalyptus. Approx. 55K an hour from my calculations, and cash just under yews per hour; They're the best choice. Forget Yews and Maples :). Good luck with woodcutting ;).

Question: Least-Admirable Skill Cape
nerdboyxxx replied to Lunar_Drifter's topic in General Discussion
After seeing how overrated combat is (yes I posted here before) I've come to the conclusion that the least admirable is a strength skillcape. Too many people have it to be cool, and it's overrated for melee. But I don't do combat, so feel free to disagree :P. -
Skillcape over Fire Cape, because I don't roll combat (I used to, but I focus on skilling now). Once I get my Mining (t) I'll wear it all the time. All in due time, of course. For now I'll be wearing my Woodcutting (t) :P.

Level 93 Smithing - Woo to the Hoo!
nerdboyxxx commented on Lady_Shahdie's blog entry in The Girl With a Tiara...
nice work, over halfway now :D. -
[hide=81 mining][/hide] And people complain about this skill... I feel like slapping them . That's two major levels in two days, and I'll make it a third tomorrow, possibly a fourth (or part of a fourth) if get the time. Bring it on! Nearly 1/5 there to 85, one level at a time ;). Once I hit 85 mining, I'll start herb runs on the weekdays and continue to level on the weekends. If I average two levels a weekend (trust me, I can do it ;)) up until level 90 I'll get 90-99 done in a flash! All paving out now. it seems like the hard yards now, but I'm having a lot of fun and the experience is coming really easy for me. Hopefully I can get 99 by the beginning of next school semester :D.

UNLESS I'm mining on w84, I'll be on HD. Not even my computer can withstand the punishment of thousands of players in LRC >.>

worlds biggest game? if you look at the number of squares and counted them all the entire map of runescape is equal to 2 or 3 zones in wow (although it feels smaller because you move a lot faster in it) . Another issue is half the areas are empty anyways, for Runescape to be in theory the worlds biggest game it would have to be 10's of times bigger then it is already. I just dont see that happening Why do we always refer to WoW for "best an de bigest gaem evar" discussions? It kinda irks me >.> Anyway, apart for my burning hatred for WoW, another thing is content. Eventually, runescape will run out of content, and WoW will run out of content, and all those other games will run out of content. The day that happens, the game will slowly die. But, content is only limited to your imagination; WoW has a strong background, but is fully developed in that area, whilst runescape has a LOT of gaps to fill, so we have room for heaps more storylines and plenty more areas. So, unless the world ends in 2012, runescape will continue to go strong.

Wow. I still think that 200M exp in Mining AND Agility on the same account is more impressive, but damn this guy has some dedication. Once he hits that 200M experience mark, there better be a party .

Already? O.O How can I rate this? That is what, 3 99's in a month? Great job, massive achievement :D. 10/10 ;)
