That's exactly what Aiel/myself found, so yay ^^. O, by the way, I got 97 thieving today, about 770k xp done. And, from a hunter challenge I got two spins: Small lamp (defence) Spin ticket >> >> Coins Spin ticket >> >> Small lamp Spin ticket >> >> Maple logs Spin ticket >> >> Small lamp Prized Prismatic Pendant. Total loot: cash, 2 small lamps, prized prismatic. Much luck. Then I failed my 73% journey for 80 slate & had to pay 546 powder for repairs, and I can't buy a hull today :(. Special voyages for today are Whaler story, Whaler 300 slate, Whaler 10k xp. 10k xp is so much worse than 300 slate XD.

11-Dec-2012 - Player-Owned Ports
Right now from my observations all of the hook voyages I've gotten have been highly manageable with my current crew. I'm not concerned with buying better crew yet, but it'll come soon after. The difficulty for my voyages went way up, 6500 single stat requirements, 3500 all-round requirements (chimeras) etc. which you definitely can't get more than ~60% on with Skull crew and ship parts. And I just had to pay ~500 gunpowder for repairs because I failed a mission at 73% (which is not in the 'heavy consequences' zone), so that 60% is a pretty big risk. In other news, 80 more slate and I got myself a nice new hull ^^. === The Port Score formula could be: 1 point for every 5000 distance travelled 50 points per adventurer met 20 points per story mission done 10 points per port upgrade bought 5 points per ship upgrade bought 3 points per scroll found 10 + 300 + 140 + 50 + 105 + 6 = 611, my score, matching my statistics. Special thanks to Aielman & to everyone who gave me their scores :).

I do. That's not a captain. This is a captain: And I have a mission to add "plucky" which I believe is +40 combat. Now to get the 6500 combat requirement together :-k. @Above: I'm so jealous! I have the whaler in port atm (whale skull trophy as well) and he gives 6500 seafaring reqs for me :(. 4000 is great.

DG Binds.
Since you're not capable of wearing high-tier body armour I'd say go for a shadow-silk hood and maul, using whichever you prefer (try both).

After due consideration, your guide has been promoted to the Archive of Wisdom. Congratulations :). Compliments on the diagrams . Also, don't forget to update the info on safespots.

Cool, thanks. Getting a scroll piece got me 3 points, maybe you get fewer points for scroll parts 2/3/4 but idk. Sent a 66% mission to unlock Chimeras and a 79% mission to get some more slate. Available are 2 more slate voyages (4k seafaring and 4k combat), one reroll and a special which provides you with the trait quick-footed, 2800 in every stat required. Edit: both failed, now waiting on more slate missions (over 80% both). Today, three missions already failed, at 52%, 66% and 79%. Getting annoying now.

It's ~20 minutes, ~80 minutes, ~140 minutes etc. for basic voyages, and unique voyages (like unlocking Cyclopses, Sirens, Chimeras) take one hour/tier longer. So expect about 320 minutes for the final zone, and 380 minutes for uniques there.

We can't tell, because we don't know the story rewards. But since chimes seem to pile up faster than you can spend them, sure :P. With 3rd tier crewmates costing 600 chimes I'm a bit reluctant. Maybe I got (un)lucky but so far I've gotten a lot of 400/500/600 chime-only missions, and although crew members and ship upgrades cost a lot of chimes, the required secondary resource (slate) simply doesn't accumulate quickly enough to run out of chimes. Right now my ratio is about 6000 chimes to 1350 bamboo and gunpowder, with no slate (but 100 incoming). Edit: I do have all gunpowder ship upgrades & 2k chimes spent on icons.

Yes, it costs 500 slate and 2000 bamboo to build a workshop. I haven't seen a trade good mission yet but I've only seen one mission so...

You can get Slate and Trade Goods from this point onwards. My score increased by one unlocking this... it seems to be at 40,000 distance travelled.

dung - what to bind?
With a t11 staff, magic will never run out of ammo either. Defence is equal between all bodies of the same tier, so that's not the problem. Melee has much higher dps, but your magic weapon will be two tiers higher & you can always use the correct type spell with just 1 weapon. Not sure which is better.

Palmists aren't as good as guides imo, but they can substitute for one. Fireworks Enthusiasts are mediocre, since speed isn't so crucial yet, you can easily do all missions in a 24h day anyway. I'd rather put a merchant or cyclops for bonus goods/xp than increase the speed of a mission.

Getting that, getting that. Already succeeded on a special mission for 250 gunpowder and a second batch is coming in soon. After today I should be at 1500 gunpowder or so. One 6k morale mission is going to be a problem, but if I make that too it's 250 more :). Edit: Sent a 100% mission for 100 slate (2400 seafaring/combat, was able to add a merchant and keep 100% even), and a 74% scroll attempt, 3k combat/morale required. Also, my first mate levelled to 6, but only after reaching the Hook. Coincidence??? (probably)

Chaotics and some other questions on weapons.
I think maul can replace all those 2h melee weapons, but I'm not sure if it's worth it for non-crush styles. Royal crossbow is probably the best for all ranged unless you have a Zaryte bow as well. But again, it may not be worth it for non-bolt weaknesses. Abs > cstaff upgrade seems the least useful to me.

First Chaotic
Weapons got equalized a lot, so all weapons at the same tier have pretty much the same dps (cls and rapier are equal for example, except for attack style). So I think the anchor would be tiered with a lot of other weapons. @Archangel: I suppose the flail makes a decent alternative, but 200 base damage is quite a lot, about 10% higher damage output for the maul. Very worth it.

pvp after eoc
Prayer and Constitution don't affect your combat level so the higher the better. Unlock Turmoil if you can. Attack, Strength, Ranged, Magic and Summoning do not stack; your combat level depends only on the highest, so get them all up to at least 95. Defence at 42 seems fine to me, there aren't many great abilities beyond this (certainly not if you use 2h weapons) and you can get a decent lp boost in level 40 equipment. Consider getting 50 for rune.

I have all the gunpowder ship upgrades & the warehouse upgrade, so I don't really need more gunpowder :P. Sent a scroll voyage at 88% now, 3 musketeers, a cyclops and an overseer for 5000 combat (also used powder keg). My captain is great, having Eager and twice Eagle-eyed, totalling 200 morale, 300 combat, 320 seafaring and 140 speed :D. Didn't fail any voyage today, so up to 3k+ chimes, 1k+ bamboo and 500+ gunpowder. 91% to next zone now. Does anyone have a level 6 crew member? All my highest are 5, even though some are 5+ voyages more experienced. Also as a matter of interest I got 97 smithing, 96 fishing and 106 dungeoneering. 2467 total now - 2 more mining/smithing/fletching, 3 more hunter/fishing/thieving, 14 more dungeoneering.

dung - what to bind?
There's Dung Smith but they're out of business for the weekend. They should be back crafting stuff when the double xp weekend dies down. Given your stats, I think t11 ranged might be a good primary for you, with another style as backup.

need help with charr
The bonus to damage from having a fire lit does not take into account weapon speed. So you want to use the fastest weapon you have, which is probably dual wield ranged (darts for example). But it's possible the fight was scaled badly to the new combat system.
