Need a voyage reroll then! And poor you, that's a useless mission :(. Today, I got 98 smithing, combat cherrywood hull, and Winds Home island unlock: 190k travelled.

The building upgrades (other than warehouse, icons & office) are more designed to dump excess resources into than to really aim for imo. I would only return to the earlier zones because you can't otherwise use up all your voyages for the day.

XP is awarded at the end of a kill now, if you tagged a monster first. I don't know whether cannons tag, familiars and primary attacks do. Look for the * before the monsters name. I assume xp is based only on your primary attack style regardless of where the damage came from (cannon/titan wise).

Teaks, pines. I'm not sure which is faster at 81, but at higher levels pines are best. Concentrated gold, superheat and drop bars if you need smithing xp, otherwise just drop ores. Barbarian fishing and C2 fishing are your best options, C2 is faster, barbarian provides a tiny bit of agility xp and is perhaps easier. Agility is horrible, at your level Ape Atoll is best, switch to Gnome Advanced at 80, then Barbarian Advanced at ~87. Dump bonus xp here. Blackjacking is fastest, until Monkey Knife Fighters take over. Pyramid Plunder is pretty fast too and requires a lot less clicking. Runespan all the way. Hunt wizards. Draconic jadinkos with Zamorak favour potions.

That's probably from the old combat system, where iron and bronze were both level 1. Under the new system, iron is level 5 iirc, putting it a step ahead of bronze and making it unusable by level 1 weapons, such as normal bows. Upgrading your weapon should fix your problem.

1. Don't mention the maths club.

Rushing is pretty much gone. Overloads are now allowed in PvP, prayer/constitution doesn't contribute to combat level, the highest stat out of attack/strength/magic/ranged/summoning now contributes to your combat level. This means: 99 hp/pray, overloads and all your damage stats equal is now good. Defence is the only real variable. Zerkers are still good but should get 99 attack if not already. If your rune pure literally wants to use rune, 50 def is needed, but otherwise they work fine. Obby maulers would have a problem with lacking abilities at 1 attack, and health at 1 defence. 1 def pures don't have a lot of health now, around 4000-4500 at 99 con I think, which means they can be 1-shot much more easily (max hit for 99 dps stat/overloads/prayers is 3k+ I'm pretty sure).

I'm still a day behind the lead I'm pretty sure :P. Accidentally skipped a mission today too :( (2 laquer, wanted to check for duration). And failed the Occultist mission #3, first fail in a while. Up to 1100 cherrywood, 100 more for a hull upgrade, if I get the next ship first I'll buy crew instead. Focusing on Arc again, first two missions: chimes only (20 mins) and slate. This bloody port doesn't want me to gather bamboo -.-.

My lifeboat is still active, even though a reset occured last night. Maybe you're looking at the wrong ship?

Jagex does not send out e-mails about this sort of thing: they use the on-site message system instead.

Do quests. Blackjacking bandits is the fastest xp at your level, if you really want to avoid that there's Pyramid Plunder and as final, horribly slow option there are Master Farmers.

Abyssal spectres and chaos druids drop tons of herbs but you're likely better off making money and buying herbs instead. Although it's quite possible gathering herbs is a good moneymaker for you. Prayer potions are often a decent cheap way of training herblore.

^Indeed, well worth it. Got 4k slate 2.5k bamboo, decent Scythe crew (2 morale/seafaring 1 combat 1 merchant 1 bureaucrat), rudder upgrade, still haven't failed any missions. Convict story mission #1 done, fun stuff. Out of ~8 Arc-focused missions I got today, two were bamboo -.-. O and, somewhere between months ago and now, my scroll wheel started working again. When I switched to Chrome, it stopped working (RS only), but now it's fine again. ???.

I am jellified by your three ships :(. Need 800 more bamboo but don't have time to babysit 20 minute voyages atm -.-. Ah well, Scythe voyages getting done well. 160k travelled.

You can get a lot of Scythe voyages done and switch to the Arc for the final few missions each day, to use up your allotment. That way you get a good distance as well.

Thanks Kaida :). Scythe update: bought rudder (500 cherrywood for +350 speed, yes please) and a cartographer, now saving for bureaucrat. Voyages are loooong, 3h40 or so even with decent speed. But I haven't failed any so a good amount of cherrywood was gathered. Need 800 bamboo 400 slate for another ship, so that's my focus for today, but overnight I do long missions for cherrywood. Also, scroll mission for 12k morale and 2 laquer mission for 11k morale. I think I'll go with story mission @ 3k morale, ty.

Teaks or pines, adze if you're not 99 firemaking (also if you are, but then it's more meh). C2 woodcutting along with fishing, too. C2 fishing, gets much better at 90+ as well, needs cooking at least on the same tier as fishing. Superheating while mining from 80 mining onwards, until then Artisan's and granite. You can also get the gold mining suit at the Lava Flow Mine.

Actually got a second vial of laquer (???) and so far I've had 3 mission rerolls in the Scythe (two ships sent, sent out a quick bamboo voyage, sent one ship again) and one mission was a trait (98%) and the other slate (5500/5500 for 300). Going to need ~800 more bamboo and ~1500 more slate so idm the slate voyages. They're also much faster. (lol rest of post, was too excited to post the map XD)

The Seafaring boosting crew is called Cartographer btw, not in Gwyn's list above. Got a bureaucrat for hire, 500 cherrywood fml :/.

Still worth it. A shot at a bureaucrat is nice. The Scythe, for those interested. My first cherrywood mission is 3600 morale/seafaring for 160 or so, taking 4.5 hours :/.

As Gwyn said, I'm hitting the Scythe region today. The region after that will take a week or so, probably (~15%/day). If I can keep up sending all voyages, which will be hard with just two ships. Fairly close to 3 ships now though.

Yes, most likely it does. The difference is quite big, about 13-14% in damage?

Mierin is a character from the Wheel of Time series. When Jagex began clearing names, I checked the hiscores for WoT names held by unranked accounts, and Mierin was one. It's my favourite character :).

Great :D. Specials are the best for the big slate caches. 10 spices mission failed, but I got scroll #4, Tetsu body complete. 83% to zone. Occultist story #3 done as well I think (introduction, two others).
