  1. Armour provides no damage boosts. If you use armour that is not of the class your attack is of (range/mage/melee) then you lose accuracy. You lose most accuracy if you use the armour you are strong against. So melee > range > mage > melee means that melee loses most accuracy using ranged armour, magic loses most using melee armour, ranged loses most using magic armour. Only body, legs and shield affect accuracy this way. In addition, each piece of armour you have adds a multiplier to your generic armour value. The multiplier is different for each combat style. For example, magic armour would have 1x multiplier for melee defence but only .25x for ranged (I don't know the actual values). The multipliers all get averaged out to determine your overall defence. All armour pieces affect defence this way. That means you can wear magic top, legs and shield while using magic attacks, and use melee boots/gloves/helmet to focus your defence into ranged.
  2. Hey, if you like hitting the higher regions of times for voyages, that's up to you. Me personally, don't let my Solidarities leave the ship for any reason. I don't find speed that hard to come by. Then again, my luck with captains is such that I get speed-focused ones :/. Use speed focused captain, lose the same ~500 that you would having the Solidarity onboard. Dunno about you, but I think using a crew slot for Solids is a better deal than a captain slot for speed. That's why I put the ':/'. I don't get any other decent captain :P.

  4. Basic abilities are really not very important (other than that you need them for adrenaline). Try to use the 3-sec cooldown abilities in between other basics (Slice, Wrack, Piercing Shot). Tresholds do real damage, and ults still more. Ults are usually overkill on non-boss monsters. For slayer, you can use AoE tresholds/ults on dags etc. If you think the impact > wrack combo is any good (stun > higher damage vs. stun), it's not really. If you really want that extra damage with Wrack, just use ice barrage :P.
  5. I like ports. The Hook/Scythe can be a bit problematic because you can finish all voyages in a day, but only at the cost of some sleep. Other regions it's either easy to do them all (Arc/Skull) or clearly impossible (Bowl, presumably Pincers). Once you hit the Bowl, it's a 3x a day thing, you can do it in the morning, before dinner and before going to sleep or something.
  6. There's no categorical difference. Personally I like: Slice - Sever - Smash - Cleave - Dismember | Slaughter - Assault | Overpower I keep Hurricane on a separate key (letter vs number) because it's for special situations. (that's for 2h weapons) Slice, Smash, Cleave and Dismember are all 125% damage abilities, Sever is a bit more powerful. Slice has a really short cooldown at 3s, Dismember and Sever are 30s, the others 10s. If you use all abilities in order, you won't be able to keep up a full rotation for maximum adrenaline, so use Slice in between basics as Sufem said. Slaughter deals triple damage if your opponent moves. How do you make an opponent move? Stand under them, instant triple. Combined with Assault you can do a quick 5-10k damage, a typical solo dg boss will die from just that for example.
  7. Solidary units aren't worth it for single-stat voyages, so you don't need one per ship. Personally I keep two.
  8. Is it actually worth using magic and ranged now? Yes. Though magic still has stupidly low dps in dg, so don't use it there (assuming you can get your hands on high-tier range/melee stuff).
  9. Lower-region missions offer only half distance though, even if they would normally be higher distance/hour they usually aren't because of that. The special island unlock in the Bowl is 5800 all btw, not sure if mentioned.
  10. Runed Sarcophagus, something with the scarabs east of Sophanem. Did ~800k dg today, 1.7m to 108. Got a Sagittarian shortbow + arrows, hoping to get 100 more arrows and hex sometime (74m xp left to get hex). Ports-wise I sent out the Bowl story voyages for convict & assassin. The joint mission was for 6 laquer. Bought 2 of each basic Bowl crew as well, 400 jade left. 5800 all for the crescent isle unlock, going to send that when those Bowl people are a bit higher level. Overseer + Sea Witch + 1 of each type basic = nice all-round stats.
  11. I think you should keep the equipment you'll be using. I have no idea what you'll be up to, but for GWD you'll want some mage gear.
  12. You can make money in the same ways as you used to, just that bossing has gotten easier so the profits are down a bit. The upcoming Kalphite King will probably add a new, high-profit boss to the game.
  13. It doesn't matter too much what boot you use, they only slightly tweak your defence towards a certain style. At arma, I imagine ragefire is worst (because it's melee focus) and glaiven best (mage focus), with steadfast (ranged focus) in between. But I'm not sure what hits you most.
  14. Still good ^^. The 800 jade voyage succeeded, and with Fortune of the Seas that's +880 jade. The other two came in as well, for a total of 1126 jade iirc. That's 874 off the morale hull :D. I'm rerolling voyages liberally now, as there's no use doing the bad ones. Atm, two ships are going after jade (97%+ on 6500/6500) and one is going for bamboo.
  15. Red Hot Chili Peppers, Californication album iirc, I forgot the song title.
  16. Good day today dungeoneering-wise: got primal spear and sagittarian body (solo drops), also hood (Ambler's drop I think), and of course 107 dg because spear etc. Spear >>>>>> ccs. Getting sagittarian shortbow next I think. Ports-wise: failed two jade missions (sent at over 85%), got only about 200 jade from the first three voyages, bought a combat crew dude. Sent out a dual convict/assassin mission for 800 jade, hoping to buy a deck upgrade with that. Rudder won't help too much because you're stuck at three voyages per ship per day anyway, whether they're seven or eight hours. Might save for the morale hull upgrade because morale is kinda the weak point (golden hull sucks :S), I don't have a morale captain either.
  17. Hex: 519 damage, 980 accuracy, 1960 armour, 1485 lp boost, fastest speed. Sag short: 1017 damage, 990 accuracy, fast speed. Sag long: 524 damage, 990 accuracy, 1980 armour, 1485 lp boost, average speed. Sag arrow: 950 damage. Naturally, 99 ranged is required, so you get +1049 damage. That means you get: 1568 damage in 4 ticks, or 392 dpt. 2066 damage in 5 ticks, or 413 dpt. 1573 damage in 6 ticks, or 262 dpt. Assuming Tip.It & RSwiki stats are correct (pretty sure Tip.It stats are). I haven't checked. Of course for abilities, there's a big difference between hex/longbow and shortbow. The built-in shield can help survival a lot, with Resonance and Rejuvinate. According to RSwiki, the ability comparison comes out in favour of the hexhunter bow, damage-wise as well, and I haven't heard of anyone trading their hex for a Sagittarian shortbow.
  18. Hood, blood neck, a 2h melee weapon and a bow would be the preferred setup I think. Add a body (ranged body if your bow is a hex) as 5th.
  19. Also sent out jade voyages (3), taking forever, they'll be back right around the reset. I'm just going to do some bamboo voyages for the ones I can't finish anyway.
  20. Do not ecto. That's pretty much a given, buckets of slime are too slow to gather. You save 8.4k bones worth of altaring for 28m, which works out to ~7 hours saved, or 4m/h.
  21. Get royal bolts, use soul split when you need to, and always Anguish of course.
  22. It does, you can turn 500 cherrywood into 700+ using merchant, Fortune of the Seas and warehouse together.
  23. Good luck :D. Got 700k dg xp today, final Port standings for the day are: 95% to Bowl, 9k cherrywood, 70k chimes, two voyages left, three ongoing. Edit: 97%! Tomorrow should be the Bowl and 107 dungeoneering, plus primal spear if hunts are any good.
