  1. Interestingly, you can return with partial success on a trait mission and still get the trait.
  2. I'm at 16% and gaining 5-10% a day or so. There's still people 5-10% ahead of me, so let's not be too cautious and assume 8-12 more days?
  3. Get the ship, and save some for totems later on as well. @Arcane, done deal.
  4. Got two great specials @ 600 jade each and 800 jade barmaid's tip. Still not a single 10k captain. Hoping to get up to 3k jade with this ^^.
  5. OK guys, enough puns, back to the pictures please. Do not use obsidian armour outside the TzHaar region.
  6. Thanks :). Hit 577 here, against Dark beasts, with dual CCBs, anguish, overloads and momentum. Max is most definitely under 600 at least, but how much above 577 I do not know. That's pretty crazy. You were using fsh too? Does cannon actually hit better on ranged-weak opponents? Ports update: Rolled second judge of dice, got horrid specials today, only doable mission being one for 20 spice. So yeah, got 22 spice now. 13% to zone. Edit: 14% to zone, sent out 1500+ jades worth of missions, bought jade rudder. Jeremy was nice enough to lose 5 CW games to me (<3:), so I'm that much closer to hybrid helmets :).
  7. Moved to Website Updates & Corrections :).
  8. Agree, Warrior ring is best in EoC atm for melee. strength bonus doesn't really matter considering you hit very high with ultimate abilitys No... it's because there is no more strength bonus on any ring.
  9. Got only the Assassin today, second day running, and no friggin scroll mission -.- -.- -.-. Stupid 20k slayer or 20 spices missions. Away with the human skull it is. @NukeMarine: I think yes, but not because the rate is very high. Jagex has learned from the past that early on these items go for far higher than they are worth. I think they're right in trying to keep the guide price more or less accurate.
  10. Yes, however it is no longer the best amulet for anything. You have your arcane stream necklace for magic, your amulet of ranging for ranged and your Saradomin's whisper for melee. But the fury is close behind all of these and has prayer bonus. Note that critical autoattacks get a 1.5x damage multiplier, so 1% crit translates to .5% extra dps (roughly). Critical abilities always hit their max hit, so 1% crit on an ability translates to 1% extra dps. The main changes is the heavy emphasis on single-style combat - penalties on switching, little hybrid equipment, major accuracy penalties for 'wrong' class major armour, exaggerated weaknesses. Only body, legs and shield equipment affects your accuracy, so you can wear the wrong helm/gloves etc. and still get 100% accuracy, but the rest is pretty heavily one class. Another main difference is that combat is slower now. Where previously monsters like Jad and attacks like claw specials could kill a player (virtually) in one hit, now the highest hit will do somewhere around half your total healths worth of damage. You can no longer enter combat with a big hit, as you need to build adrenaline first.
  11. You make your own luck, mostly. Yes you can get lots of money on the release day of a new boss, but you have to take the trouble to camp it, usually. When you see a screenshot of a very rich person getting day 1 KK drops, that's most likely the entire day's loot. Unspam with Spot the Isle: Left, I unlocked Crescent Isle, right, I had not yet unlocked it. Where is the isle?
  12. Since nests crashed, I believe coal is firmly the best. I'm not sure about the secondary resource.
  13. Bosses were easy but not quite as easy. GWD pre-EoC has always required a good stack of brews, restores and such, which are fairly costly. Now, only pray pots are required, which makes the running costs of bossing so much lower. Rejuvinate heals more in an hour than two or three yaks of food would: 40% health per minute, where one rocktail is 1860 lp (usually about 30% of your health, but can be as low as 20%). Nex is the hardest boss in the game, but not very hard requirements-wise. She can be killed with something relatively simple like ganodermic (void even), farseer kite, master wand, royal crossbow. That's maybe 15m in gear, a bit of dg training (mind you, only 200k tokens) and some quest unlocks for curses and stuff. It's not very difficult to make a boss which requires higher-tier gear to do well at. Releasing level 90 gear is the last of your worries. I think the reasoning for buffing claws is that tds totally suck right now, and they want to reinvigorate a previously popular boss. Personally I think the problem is more with the strict enforcement of single-classing we have since EoC, but making tds drop something worthwhile is not a bad idea. Claws is one choice. I'd rather have a high effigy rate (one every two hours? with 500k profit?). Nex armour is perfectly reachable. If it wasn't so expensive, people would be complaining there's no fun in gear, because everyone has it maxed anyway. The whole point of having benefits from higher-tier armour in addition to benefits from higher stats is that the armour is also a challenge to obtain. If armour is a quick easy upgrade you just pop in your backpack when you hit that round level, it's not interesting anymore.
  14. Got 108 dg :). Also bought the hull of glory, now saving for Judge of Dice - 1k jade. It's a 450 all crew with solidarity (100).
  15. Zaros is this dude who gives us cool prayers and spells. I think he's secretly the Santa of Power. He ruled a pretty huge empire back in the day, and not badly afaik, so I'm guessing he's not totally self-centered.
  16. first off, we don't know how drastic the rescaling will be secondly, the weapons are going to be level 90, while the maul is level 80 thirdly, if they start rebalancing the abilities to work more with dual wielding as part of the changes to "recognize player input", this won't stay true I'm quite sure Latin took the level difference into account >.>. The dps difference could easily be that high between dw and 2h. And the rescaling is only armour I'm pretty sure. The third point is purely hypothetical. Edit: I think it's fair to restrict make a boss hard enough that some or most people can't profit from it, and requiring a few dozen hours of money grind is still reasonable compared to the massive level grind for max combat, pre-EoC especially but still in place.
  17. I'm quite happy with the strength bonus on armour, because it's pretty much the only way high-tier armour can be viable fighting low/medium-strength enemies. Right now, void dominates all off-task combat up to and including glacors and qbd. That's massive for any one set of armour, let alone level 42 armour, and making some tier 70-85 equipment a bit better in that department is good imo. I would like my PoP armour to be the best, not just some semi-worthwhile money drain. I think the Regenerate nerf is a bad idea. Instead of making it unattractive to use it, why not promote saving adrenaline? Right now, adrenaline drains so fast (out of combat) there's no other use than gaining a measly few health before the next fight starts. If you made an treshold/ultimate ability which reduces adrenaline to zero, until you start fighting again, when it instantly gives you 25-50% adrenaline - that would be a good use for it.
  18. I believe ports armour was confirmed to get a set effect too?
  19. So far it's been 120 jade. I meant plates/chi/lacquar, got any of those yet? 3 each so far, 6 for double adventurer mission. 20 spices. [hide] The Occultist organizes a wedding between her and that khan what's-his-name, and gets the khan to invite all seasingers and such including Quin. Quin tries to seize the occultist. Your forces intervene and steal the brain/body/blood in the chaos. Last she says, she's off to mortalize (but not kill) herself.[/hide]
  20. Ice barrage worked well for me, 100% stun every attack, he's not very happy :P.
  21. I'm not judging anything :P. I trust you to do the statistics. It seems that the chances that you didn't hit over 497 while your max was 544 (which is just one hit I observed, could be still higher) are pretty much zero, so that equipment and/or stats, potions etc. do affect the cannon.
  22. You get experience for the lowest of the two.
  23. I've hit at least 544, overloads, anguish, void range, dual crossbows, momentum, lesser demons (just now).
  24. I'm fine with max hits ^^. Max of 500 would be sensible but with that sample... :/. I'll go cannon something. My mouse is out of batteries so not much to do but autoretaliate + cannon + ghouls :P.
  25. I think only mission length (time) matters, not reward. Except story missions which are always zero, and island unlocks, which are always the maximum distance for their duration (the rest has a random component).
