  1. You can actually mage frosts, and it's sort of a compromise between magic xp gain and cost. Though it seems unlikely to me it's better than maging ganodermics. Pre-ganos, it was alright with effigies etc.
  2. Moved to Help&Advice :).
  3. 99 summoning is amazing, if you were considering stopping at 95 or 96 I would recommend against it. Slayer is slow so it's a decent lamp skill, though it doesn't have many rewards unlike summoning (apart from a few uses within dungeoneering/Soul Wars etc.). If you're maxing melees before slayer you could lamp slayer to bridge the final gap, because slaying past max melees is much less useful. Agility is also very slow and a good skill to lamp, mining is much faster but still slow. Runecrafting is a lot faster than it was since Runespan, but if you really hate it, it's still slower than most skills (apart from agility, slayer and mining, and pure summoning). I would definitely stay away from lamping melees, magic, prayer, herblore, construction, thieving, hunter and dungeoneering.
  4. Regrettably a large number of posts had to be removed - please continue with respectful, cooperative discussion.
  5. I presume this is for merchanting purposes? Added anyway.
  6. Moved to General Guides :). Nice find :P.
  7. It works well at any level, it gets more expensive per point of experience because of your lesser damage & accuracy, but it remains the fastest way by a wide margin. I have no idea how many you need, a few thousand should do? The rate should be 200k/hr or so with void deflector + red d'hide top.
  8. Yes, and no. First of all, sentinels don't have almost no defence, as evidenced by the fact that goliath gloves have much more dps than whips. Secondly, the test is perfectly valid scientifically. Thirdly, abyssal demons are known to be weak to magic & to have a fair amount of melee defence (as slayer monsters go). Instead of coming up with random accusations, you could provide some data that proves you right perhaps, because the test above is a very strong indication that abyss are good to polypore, which iirc was already tested by Grimy months ago.
  9. I know Latin tested it, I don't have any data of course, but this: I'm sure 750 hits won't satisfy you, but given that we know abyss to be a bit weaker to magic...

Strength is pretty much always better, I put the recommendation in because some tasks can't be finished in one trip if your prayer bonus is too low (for example dark beasts/abyss, especially at lower levels). So unless you need to carry so many potions that you need to bank, you don't need to worry about prayer bonus.
  11. Zerkers still have a good health boost and they are equal to 72 allround stats (at 99 strength/45 def). Compared to the current game, they can even get 99 prayer and attack for free, where previously they'd stick at 80 attack/95 prayer. The jump from adamant to barrows isn't big enough to make up for the jump from 99 strength chaotics to 72 strength whips. And of course zerkers can get 50 def (from their current 42-45) to get runite.
  12. Polypore is roughly equal to melee (especially with the new robes), so SoA should be a good bit faster. I'm not sure what the kph is for melee, say 250?. That would put SoA at 300ish?. It's not going to be great slayer xp (150 each), but as mage slayer goes, it's great.
  13. Except Kiln & QBD, which are both over 5m/hr and that makes them the best gp/hr in the game outside merchanting. And you need overloads for dungeoneering as well.
  14. I think atm the bottleneck in the price is the supply, not the demand. That is, it's a seller's market, due to the low supply. There is little reason to Nex when QBD and Kiln are so much more rewarding. The main reason prices are the way they are is that the current balance is the lowest (fairly stable) point where people still bother. In other news, sighted magic longbows are very badass in the beta right now. Not accurate (550 hit bonus, Zaryte has 800) and not so fast (average, Zaryte has fast) but a lot of damage (~2k damage, Zaryte has ~1500).
  15. Nex gear should have received a significant buff, as it was ridiculous that 30m a set gear was almost as good as 500m a set gear. Instead of choosing the obvious solution, Jagex brainstormed about the stupidest possible solution to the problem and rolled with that. I think the real problem here is that level 80 gear costs 500m. It's based on the cost of hunting Nex and the drop rate. Only Jagex can change those things. I imagine that with the release of level 90 equipment, Nex will get a lot easier and cheaper and her drops will go down. 100-200m per set is a price jump comparable to that of Barrows/dragon to Bandos/Armadyl etc..
  16. You don't want to block ice strykes, they reduce the gp/xp cost of slayer and they are faster than the average task you do (about 50-52k/hr with above-average effigy rates).
  17. Are you willing to dump millions into SoA? Do: black demons, black dragons, dark beasts, ice strykes, Jad, hellhounds, bloodveld, suqah, greaters (Forinthry dungeon), kalphites, abyssal demons (soa), abberant spectres.
  18. Moved to the appropriate subforum, good luck with your clan :).
  19. You could try Livid Farm if you want the spells, but you kinda need Energy Transfer for that. Superheating (while mining, if you want) will get you a lot of useful collateral xp. You can try maging some slayer, but at your level Storm of Armadyl is not very strong yet. You can train woodcutting/fishing with alchemy in between. You can string amulets.
  20. AHappySeeker being his eloquent self this might have escaped attention a bit, so I'll reiterate: glacors are very profitable and offer good charm & effigy rates, such as they are. Glacor boots don't look to be crashing with them being the highest tier equipment in both live game and EoC currently (apart from ragefires).
  21. Not if you merchant at the same time (and that is your highest gp/hr activity). Superheating gold with gauntlets, smithing and magic xp. Stringing amulets, making planks etc. for magic xp. Crafting Fletching (arrows can be done anywhere) Firemaking Cooking Herblore, clean herbs for cheapness You can catch toy mice or penguins for agility xp
  22. Slightly edited the title ;).
  23. Activities with restrictions based on real time, such as farming, penguins, troll invasions etc. tend to have very high returns per unit of time invested. For example, farming is a good 4m/hr profit, you just can't do very much of it per day. You don't quite have the stats to do the most profitable dailies but you can work on them, and penguins etc. are always open. Check the excellent (if slightly outdated) guide here.
  24. Yeah, but scimitars can be short, it's appropriate for a fast weapon. Not to mention they are still a good half metre long. The new looks are a lot better than the crappy old ones, I hopethe rest will come quickly :D.
