  1. True, leeching is never worth it. I thought a boss would be fun in an arena with more walls, where you can knock through walls with weapons, either partially or entirely (like Kiln walls are half or whole height). A wall has high health (can take a lot of punishment before going down), low defence level (it can't defend itself) but very high armour bonus (not easy to damage) and a significant crush weakness (there's no blood vessels to damage with stab or slash). If you use a pickaxe you can add your mining level to your strength level for damage. Some monster relaxing behind a wall and suddenly a mauler comes through the wall and attacks :D. Would be especially cool with a boss that has devastating ranged/mage attacks but only uses weakish melee within melee range. The walls would reset when you leave (instanced arena, guess you could make a team like DG teams as well) so as a trip progresses less walls are available to hide behind and you take more damage.
  2. Which goes to show leeching to recharge chaotics is not worth it (90 gp/token :P).
  3. More so than greens for sure :P.
  4. You need 401 rank to unlock the last formation as well. Sorry :(.
  5. Farming is good too, if you can farm at least ranarr. Combat is almost always better than skilling, with a few exceptions (90+ hunter with scentless potions, 82/91 runecrafting with Lunar Magics, 62/85 farming with juju/greenfingers/scroll of life/secateurs - not exactly immediately available). Cows are probably a good starter for money. Don't forget that at the early levels, the easiest and fastest way to become more powerful is just training. Only when you have all the requirements for all basic equipment and prayers (70 attack, 60 strength/defence, 43 prayer etc.) you can really use money to increase power.
  6. That 'news' header really is overdoing it... if anything it should say another visage drop.
  7. Personal gatestones :D. But really, I don't think you can bank quickly enough to make it worth it. The fastest way (assuming cannon) is moving all the way around (bring a dusty key). Just realized you can hunt frost dragons (), any reason you're not hunting those?
  8. :wall: Sorry I'm stupid. If it's any excuse fight caves topics are way more common and they also use ganodermic. For Nomad, just melee, nothing special. Gano top is 3m per charge.
  9. I can afford a Pernix cowl, leaving me with black dragonhide for chest/legs :D. But seriously, before Nexing I need at least 380k more tokens and 50m+ gp (I don't want to sell virtus skirt/arcane).
  10. It's super rare and totally useless in Pyramid Plunder. But it provides about .8% bonus xp anywhere else.
  11. Nope, greens are wilderness only. Blues are safe, you can try those. A super attack and strength would help your kill speed as well, and pray piety of course.
  12. Whip vine > zspear > ranged. Magic and chaotic rapier beat all of those. If you can, use Storm of Armadyl with an Armadyl battlestaff and maximize your magic attack bonus (so not dragon boots or defender). It's the fastest and easiest way to complete the caves. Polypore staff is a strong second, much cheaper and slower but it doesn't require Ritual of the Mahjarrat. Melee is great for fast caves but has as downside that you must kite the 360s. You stand one step away from them and move in to melee only when they are using their magic attack, for .6 seconds at the time. It's easier than it sounds but also takes a little bit of practice.
  13. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Not much done today, made about a million off flasks/farm run (torstol and ugune back, ftw), battlestaves etc. After herblore I'm pretty broke (~2m cash after today, no equipment sold though), going to build that up a bit before starting on crafting. Would be nice to be able to buy a couple of hundred battlestaves at once.
  14. Wait what... you must've been comparing the wrong armours. [item=11863] 120 magic defence, 34% magic soak [item=2365] 50 magic defence, 6% magic soak [item=11866] This is one tier below ganodermic actually, and still has 52 magic defence and 10% magic soak, requiring only level 55 magic and defence. Edit @ below: ganodermic degrades almost entirely to nothing - it starts at 3m and after it's done you have roughly 3 gp worth of armour left. It's worth it for the fight caves, Nomad and kiln, but if you're safespotting with magic keep in mind it's quite expensive and no better than Ahrim's.
  15. Back when I was f2p (2006 or so) people (noobs) were saying one of the advantages of membership was being able to choose what you target... finally come true :D.
  16. No. Second piece and after come very quickly, but I don't think the rate keeps rising forever. You never reach a point where you get a piece every game afaik.
  17. Magic without an arcane stream necklace would be a pretty bad idea, if you have a rapier that's way better.
  18.  Best cape, congratulations .
  19. They work, and from what I remember they even work on the glacor itself while the minions are alive. However two out of three of the effects are useless (poison immunity and the stun doesn't matter anyway) and when you lure the enduring away the dreadnip will unspawn because of distance. Overall they add very little kph.
  20. There's even a precedent for that. The magic shortbow was once thought to be too overpowered and was nerfed. I wrote this up a while back: Combat rework basics Make all potion boosts of the same tier equal; introduce super ranging and magic potions; introduce a ranged variant of turmoil and augury; change the way magic level affects hits; add life point boosts to cheaper equipment; increase certain boss' health. [hide]Regular potions: +12 Super potions: +19 Extreme potions/overloads: +26 Ranged turmoil: 15%+15% of opponent's level This results in a straight 11.9% ranged dps boost (on targets with a decent ranged level) assuming 100% accuracy - more if your accuracy is lower. To balance out magic, make each level +1% magic damage; make Storm of Armadyl and polypore staff work with +3 per magic level; make level-based magic damage boosts count boosted level past the base requirement. This results in a 3.7% dps boost to Storm of Armadyl, assuming 100% accuracy and 99 magic. For the polypore staff, the increase is 6.5% (that is assuming the base max of 220+3 per level, not the formula (magic level*3) - 180). For all other spells, the increase is 4.1%. Life point boosts are currently extremely expensive to come by, adding some more and cheaper ones will somewhat reduce the danger of KOs. This will unbalance pvm, so some bosses will need some more health as well (especially GWD bosses since they are alone in their room). Change Nex items to 80 - 160 - 240 (total 480) for clarity. For Barrows, Armadyl, and other 70+ defence gear: add 60 - 120 - 180 (total 360). Possibly except ganodermic as it is primarily soak-based (could be gimmick). For Bandos, third-age, Dragon, and other 60-69 defence gear: add 40 - 80 - 120 (total 240). For rune, granite, dragonhides, infinity, void, tier 3/4 task items, agile and other low level gear: add 20 - 40 - 60 (total 120). Add 40 lp boost to glacor boots, max/comp/kiln cape, dungeoneering/dragonfire/sigil spirit shields. Add 20 lp boost to Dominion Tower/mercenary gloves, dragon/Bandos boots, fury, fire cape, obsidian/dragon/crystal/blessed spirit shields. Add 10 lp boost to Culinaromancer's gloves 9 and 10, ranger's/rune/infinity/Fremmenik sea boots 3+, glory/ranging amulet/arcane stream necklace, Soul Wars/Ardougne 3+ capes, granite/rune shields. Cap life point boosts (total) at the users's constitution level (so a 10 hp pure doesn't go around wearing Barrows and gets 400+ lp boost). The boosts are roughly based on defence level, sometimes on other requirements. A 'reasonable' setup (arma + eeks sub 100m Nex setup) would have a 480 lp boost. Older bosses are based on the 255 level cap so they have 2550 lp (GWD, DKS, KQ, Jad). The KQ is still fairly difficult, dks are more of a slayer monster these days, but Jad can be taken to 4000 lp and GWD to about 5000. [/hide] The lifepoint suggestion is based on Jmod statements at Runefest that they wanted to provide more lp boosts overall, as opposed to a nerf of dark bows etc.
  21. Teak and mahogany tree graphics got updated, at least in Tai Bwo Wannai (they weren't on bxpw).
  22. You get points every month you have members, not every time you buy members.
  23. You should never, never reset if you do not have all floors done you can do. If you have them all done you should reset. Be sure you unlocked all floors you can access at your level as well.
  24. I can assure you my level has absolutely nothing to do with my house :P. [spoiler=Original design] I replaced the costume room far down with more rooms. The idea is you teleport in, run east-south-west to restore summoning, prayer and teleport to a bank/other stuff with glory or portals.
