Daemonheim Task Set- 10/9/13
Nope. hex is still a shieldbow. The best shieldbow, to be sure, but not better than ssb due to the relative uselessness of defence. If your choice is gravecreeper shortbow, promethium 2h or hex, I'd say hex has some merits, but gc short would still be higher dps (maybe use hex if you're not into using armour :P). If you have a primal maul/2h/spear, you can forget about using anything other than a t99 2h weapon as secondary.

Dev Blog - Prestige
I don't think it's going to hurt the game, it may even help the economy a bit*, and it might be a bit fun to reset a whole account to level 1, rather than starting a new account, but I don't think it's the update that the game needs to grow and get better. That said, prestiging hp anyone? *I suppose it's also possible that experienced players will hog critical resources that new low-mid levels need, but then the low-mid levels could at least harvest those resources while prestigers buy them with their high-level wealth.

Birthright of the Dwarves- 2nd October 2013
Yes. Yes it does. He's not doing that. It doesn't, but he's not doing that. It isn't and it isn't. We should have reason to. Yes, but that's not all. No, no, and no. Yes, I'm afraid we are. Really why should we expect less from Jagex than the level of WGS, or Legend's Quest, or Underground Pass? Making huge, revisitable dungeons/jungles full of senseless* elaboration is way preferable to copy-pasting an existing area and having it as a one-time instance. Quests are made by the Easter eggs, the elaborate surroundings and the potential to take a wrong turn and still do something worthwhile. You need to be able to immerse yourself, which doesn't work if there are inconsistencies, loose ends and too-narrow paths. For example, in Birthright of the Dwarves, I went to visit the Red Axe dwarves on Jatizso, or rather the king there, to verify some details. As it happens, the relevant dwarves were actually on the island, I was simply unable to speak with them (clicking 'talk-to' walks you over and then does nothing). The king, his advisor, the locals and even the royal cat had no dialogue whatsoever related to this quest. It's a Grandmaster quest, with no apparent ties to the world at all. Reasonably, I should've been able to talk to the king, find the captain of the ship and interrogate the crew. Hell, maybe I should have been able to re-route the ore shipments to my personal storage in Keldagrim, for a fair price of course (to be paid by the Red Axe). Now, for the chaos druid, I should have been able to choose: infiltrate the coven (initiation rites?), defeat the coven through combat (but stun the leading druid?), collapse the cave on top of them (save the druid? intercept them at their respawn point?) or maybe just bribe them (cash, items?). I should have been able to visit a few high-up Zamorakians (say, the mage who teleports you to the Abyss, Surok Magis, the witch who bound Iban to her service - for a full list see here) to get some further info or some authentic clothing. I should have been able to visit some Zarosians for background on Zamorak's curse, maybe find a way to mitigate it, I'm sure Azzanandra has ideas? Now Hreidmar says during the quest that he has 'given up'. This just drops from the sky and explains the shoddy copy-paste, but fails to explain the rather powerful (targeting!) cannons they have. If my cannon hit 3000+, I wouldn't be hiding in a near-empty hall with deranged followers and Grimsson, I would be camping Nex for epic loot and xp. Hreidmar had the resources to build a copy of the Consortium building, and the manpower, and he had a mind-wiping ogre and I don't know how many spies and supporters (Zamorak, for one, who has just returned even!), yet he's given up and everyone is OK with that. Surely, when a leader 'gives up', the ambitious second in command steps in and leads the assault, taking the throne for themselves? And so on and so forth. We, adventurers, know so many crazy/powerful/important people, there should be a hundred cross-references in every GM quest. *In terms of the quest storyline.

Couple of Questions
No, hard mode is not worth it. It may be better to camp Dagannoth kings, they are definitely good money, if you're duoing you can go on the busiest world there is and maintain safety. Make sure you can bank the bones, that means having a yak for one of you, or Fremennik sea boots for both of you. Banking the hides is also profitable, but less important (you should have enough downtime when duoing to bank both).

Daemonheim Task Set- 10/9/13
I had no trouble hearing it except over the wind that's outside, for the first memory probe. You can lobby and exit the saga if you get it wrong, that returns you to the nearest save point - speak to Skaldrun to start again. Not useful for the first probe, but the second and third are past save points.

Birthright of the Dwarves- 2nd October 2013
The copy was a bit shoddy though (not in-universe shoddy, creator-is-lazy shoddy), with lots of empty space, and a trade floor with traders but almost no other Red Axe members. We've been fighting this powerful, mind-bending guerilla, and suddenly it turns out it consists of two dwarves, an ogre and a bunch of voodoo zombies. Really it should have been a less perfect copy, but also have a lot of buildings around it, and large mines with lots of troops you have to clear out with cannons and Black Guards and whatnot. Make it a bit of a lead-the-troops kind of thing.

Daemonheim Task Set- 10/9/13
@Matey: On hard mode, you can probably solo a hex, bn, hood and a full set of t11 equipment before you've done a few levels worth of xp.

The giant doesn't even show up in the quest, talk about 'chucked in'...

Need dominion endurance tower
Void is fine, war-priest also works, or you can use a mix of Nex armours and stuff.

11-Dec-2012 - Player-Owned Ports
I'd say Judges and Oxheads are pretty important, and the others are very useful at their respective tiers. Resource missions don't do that much, really.

Need dominion endurance tower
Bring your overloads, renewals, ascensions/drygores/seismics, runes for all barrages (4x elemental + bloods), some pray pots, an antifire, some rocktail soups, steel titan + scrolls. Fight. Win.

The 'You're Banned' Game (over 38,000 banned!)
Banned for not having banning powers :3.

whats a good boss to fight ?
DKS? No, still easy, though I think cannons are right out.

whats a good boss to fight ?
Dagannoth kings are great if you don't need effigies, Vorago is the best, Nex, KK and GWD are still good I believe.

Future Update Discussions
Defence, Smithing, Dungeoneering, Divination, Woodcutting, QP, Strength, Construction, Slayer, Firemaking, Attack. They look very good, I would support putting those in game .

Doesn't really deserve a whole post in GD imo, it's just Jagex advertising stupidly as usual. They're up against the latest WoW expansion, GuildWars 2 and a bunch of other big titles. My voting advice is: do not vote for RS.

Birthright of the Dwarves- 2nd October 2013
Kill Hreidmar first, I used seasingers/cstaff. Safespot the other dwarves while you focus on H, he should only heal once or twice. Then move on to Grimsson, still safespotting the cannoneers. When the two bosses are dead, the rest is a piece of cake.

But I don't need woodcutting xp :(. @Chenw: English is known as a language with horrible spelling conventions here, because it uses very old spellings (five centuries plus, easily) which don't match how the language is actually pronounced now. But it's true that a segmental representation is pretty convenient. It was invented only once, as far as we know, in or near ancient Greece. The Latin alphabet is based on the Greek, and so on until the modern Latin, Greek, Cyrillic etc.. Concepts, words and syllables are apparently much more intuitively accessible than segments. Also an interesting note on Greek primordial gods: a certain interpretation of the creation of the world sees it as Ananke and Cronos emerging from Chaos. Ananke means 'force, constraint, necessity', Chronos means 'time' and Chaos means 'emptiness, vast void, chasm, abyss'. So basically, the current state of the universe is the result of 'force, constraint, necessity' and 'time' emerging out of 'emptiness, vast void, chasm, abyss'. I can agree to that (need to add 'space' I suppose). Incidentally, .

So they should add particle effects to all dragon weapons so that people will keepsake them. Profit???? Or they should replace the dragon weapon rewards with override rewards. E.g. Lost City awards you with dragon longsword and dagger overrides, Regicide rewards you with a dragon halberd override etc.. The weapons themselves would be usable regardless of quest completion.

Future Update Discussions
The wights are definitely the Barrows brothers, you can see (from left to right) Ahrim, Dharok, Guthan, Karil, Torag and Verac. There's a seventh to the far left, but I can't tell whether that's Akrisae or not. Since it's a sixth-age quest, it probably is. Edit: Looking at the picture three posts down, Ahrim is to the far left, with Akrisae to his right. Enahkra is the one in bright red to the right of the wights, along with Zemouregal, Khazard and K'ril. To the left is Akthanakos, in orange, and Azzanandra. The figure half-hidden behind Icthlarin is probably Wahisietel[1]. Any chance we're getting to see an Eastern Lands city? Seems like a place Sliske could enjoy hiding in. 1. Compare to the pictures on RSwiki for clothing matches.

I'm not sure why new skills have to be useful Because if the metagame doesn't change, then you aren't making a very interesting update, you're just making the game longer. Say I made a 35x16 connect four game. It's still not possible to win if you go second (assuming perfect play), but the game takes a whole lot longer. On the other hand, if I make it connect five and allow two discs to be played per move, I'm actually changing the game, which means there's new stuff to explore and figure out. Making new skills useful is also pretty much the only way to tie a non-combat skill into combat - quests with non-combat requirements do also work, but you don't need a whole skill for a couple of quest reqs. Combat is one of the largest parts of the game, and having no tie-ins at all makes you wonder why it's not a separate game in its own right. Finally, making a skill useless doesn't make people like or enjoy it as much. Which is ultimately the goal.

Unbelievable that dragon pickaxes have risen so far.

200M in all Skills
From what I've heard, chaos giants are wholly uninteresting.
