You'll love Arabic then :P. In German (and English) you have the conjugation of the type Apfel - Apfël (apple - apples) or sing - sang - sung - song, known as Umlaut. In German (I think also English, but not sure) it's no longer a productive system (e.g. it can't be applied to new words) but in Arabic you still have Ablaut (of which Umlaut is the unproductive version). You can, for example, form the following words from the stem k-t-b: 'book' ('letter'/'contract'), 'writers' and 'Qur'an school' - k-t-b is related to writing. The dashes are replaced with different vowels for each different meaning. The Arabic writing system is also pretty good for this, as the vowels are written over the consonants, a bit like our diacritics. As an aside, it's pretty much a myth that some languages are harder than others, they all have to express the same complexity. That's what I do, it helps when there's a stupid movie on I don't have to watch very closely.

Birthright of the Dwarves- 2nd October 2013
I quite liked the quest, the rewards are mediocre but good if you're not 99 mining yet. There's some nice lore about the pre-monarchy Keldagrim society as well. Edit: I do have to note that throughout I thought it was a novice quest, I got confused with Missing Presumed Death. I was about to write a compliment to the bossfight's scaling with level, when I realized it was a GM quest. For a GM, it's too short and too easy.

Solo Dungeoneering ?
As solo player, you'll now have a much easier time and get more xp as well. Do take care to bring two attack styles, because it's quite inconvenient to run into a t11 warrior with just ranged (or equivalents).

New Range Gear
I imagine Sirenic will be like Tectonic in every aspect, so it will be tradable unless degraded.

It's still worth using a wealth for the final hit, theoretically. Looking forward to seeing a magic/ranged section :).

Behind the Scenes - October 2013
I won't believe that the new trees are worthwhile at all until I see them tested, but okay, it's good that that was the idea (the crystal trees at least, as they provide xp). Rebuilding Lumbridge sounds good, the quest should be good, the armour is alright. I'm hoping that t90 melee power will arrive shortly, and that seismic/drygore/ascension prices level out fairly quickly (at this side of 200m please).

For those of you who speak a language besides English: Which language feature do you miss most when speaking English instead of another language? I think the lack of diminutives is most annoying. There is no proper way to express the difference between 'brug' (bridge) and 'bruggetje' (little/cute/rustic bridge) in English.

The difference is that fun is a general, but vague term, whereas efficiency is a more specific term but less broadly applicable. That is, in RS, efficiency is something that is fun, but not all fun is efficiency. Ideally, the efficient paths fall alongside other paths, making the choice between kinds of fun less difficult. Jagex just really sucks at that bit.

PvM & Slayer Gear
Melee: Chaotic claws. Bandos, if not that use Barrows melee armour. It doesn't hurt to get Tetsu either. As for peripherals, use a Warrior ring, Saradomin's whisper, Tokhaar-kal. Ranged: Royal crossbow. Armadyl, if not that use Karil's. It doesn't hurt to get Death Lotus either. As for peripherals, use an Archer's ring, Saradomin's murmur, Ava's alerter. Magic: Chaotic staff. Subjugation, if not that use Ganodermic. It doesn't hurt to get Seasinger's either. As for peripherals, use a Seer's ring, Arcane stream necklace, Mage Arena cape. Hybrid: 6th-age circuit (equals non-imbued rings), Fury (slightly worse), Completionist cape (beats all others), any glacor boots, any automaton gloves, any high-tier tank helmet.

25-September-2013 - Runescape Bonds
It's less fun* when you can be beaten in a race by someone who bought an advantage, such as bonds. That is because a game is usually understood to be a small, self-contained unit, with the only input being the player's intelligence and skill. The game has to be smaller than real life, and the strategy and tactics more or less overseeable and understandable. By adding advantages to spending real-world cash, you expand the game to include real life, where you make that cash. By expanding to the whole world, the game ceases to be different from the real world, which makes it hard to 'escape' into the game world and enjoy that universe as an independent universe. Immersiveness is something that a category of players values highly, and it's being broken down. What doesn't help is that Jagex is giving a strong impression of ever increasing the amount of buyable-with-real-cash advantages in the game. That quite quickly leads to the conclusion that there will be more ways to spend money on this game in the near future. Naturally, people start considering what line will be crossed next - straight-up buyable xp? Quests, as someone mentioned? More PoH rooms? Jagex could set a line for themselves and show the players that they stick to it, trying to win back some trust. Examples are: having no more than X SoF promotions (Y new Solomon's/Loyalty items released) per year, or just saying 'we won't release any other way to buy in-game advantages with real-world cash for the next five years'. Similar to the problems with EoC, the lack of information and a lack of direction is missing. Many updates seem to be stand-alone and do not tie in well with previous content, with no apparent reason for their independence, even though there are many ways to combine old and new - look at Runespan, which could just as easily produce real runes and use real essence. Jagex needs to define some clear goals for the game, not just story-wise - that's pretty much sorted, I think - but mechanics-wise and financially. If they present these goals, then the players can understand the developers and business managers, and help to devise solutions where appropriate. In a community this big, there have to be a few good businesspeople running around, wouldn't you think?

BOL and Warpriest
No and yes, then no. Also, don't bother getting the cape if you are short on points.

25-September-2013 - Runescape Bonds
@Nukemarine: Are you seriously equating the ability to donate cash/items to the ability to trade cash/items for items that can only be bought for real-life cash? Those things are not the same. Almost nobody just 'donates' cash, because there's no immediate benefit to be gained (yes, it's nice, but that's it). You are effectively saying that all the current trades of gp-for-bonds would have been gp-for-nothing trades if this update hadn't happened. It's hard to take that statement seriously.

Well, you got to give it time. That's one. You need to make jokes about it, that's two (note that's jokes about racism, not racist jokes). Then you need to outlaw it, remove any references to particular 'races' from official laws, rules and regulations, and penalize any serious discrimination.

I know that it looks like a lot, but it isn't :P. Divination is the same at every level, for example, so that only counts as 'time', not so much as 'content'. The new quests are pretty good though, and Dungeoneering tasks.

Action bar not doing action?
Some nice background on this glitch: Some things stop the game from recognizing action bar keys. One of these things used to be chatting, another is/used to be the message you get when your inventory is full (the one you have to click through). Basically it's some things that 'take' the keyboard inputs for themselves. If you repeat them, the action bar will work again generally. This glitch got more or less fixed I think, or at least changed, so now you have to do the coin pouch thing. The coin pouch also 'takes' keyboard input, having priority over the action bar.
