  1. To a degree it is acceptable because you can Google it. As writer you always have to take into account your audience, which will also determine which words you can use, but you can still 'demand' something from your audience. You can perfectly well write a text with as additional aim to introduce words to your audience. Sure, they may have to look it up, but that's the point. Provided you take it into account, you can 'detract' from your own writing. Especially for online writing, it's quite realistic to assume your readers can quickly look up the word. In a lot of cases, it's necessary to define some terms that are common in your writing, but uncommon elsewhere. If the perfect word exists in another language, you can use that, which will give instant recognizability - at least for the people who've heard of that language or a similar one - and there will certainly be online definitions already in-place. It's a long-term investment in the efficiency of communication - proposing to designate a word for use in such-and-such ways, shortening a previous expression by a couple of words. It's one of the main reasons language evolves.
  2. Google is your friend :D. I believe this is relevant: http://xkcd.com/1053/ Applies to new words as well ;).
  3. Got a good series of warps later, thanks a lot Ellac, Echo, Leik, Jeff, Mish, Sunny :). 8.4m to 120. First reset at 60 prestige :). Edit: 6.7m to 120 :). Was a good day. At this rate, only ~5 days to 120 :o. Not sure if I can keep up the pace, but we'll see.
  4. You have to use a lot of AoE attacks (for extra healing with SS) and stand in one of the corners so that the knockback doesn't interrupt your rapid fires (and also to cluster Kree and the minis a bit so you can bombard them).
  5. These mods have some very strange ideas about the size of the current continent :P. It's so crowded everywhere... Better to release the Eastern Lands on a larger base, because you can keep an eye on the whole current landmass from about a dozen towers >.>.
  6. Chompies/ices/hidden treasure are just grindy, not like statue/flingers where you need to plan ahead. BA/MA might have some problems with teams, but other than that it's also straightforward. Only champs are luck-based.
  7. Dging. Did a warp on 77, survived, crashed game before end, got 60k xp (no tokens). That's the second time in three days I crash right before the end. 200k xp + 30k tokens lost, great. @Ties: no prob, dg again sometime. Only warps atm but that won't last.
  8. Edgeville dungeon only has 4 spawns per room or something, and they don't stack well, so barrage is meh. You'll run out of spawns just drygoring with momentum :(.
  9. Jeremy is pro ranter. To aid this, there is an established ranking: 10k kills no scroll - Rant in PM. 20k kills no scroll - Rant on HLF 30k kills no scroll - Rant on Tif 40k kills no scroll - Rant at JHQ 50k kills no scroll - Rant to god(s)
  10. Discrimination originally just meant 'seeing/marking/observing a difference between' or something like that. And in that sense, it's fair to realize that gay people are not the same as straight people (well duh). Whatever further prejudices you might have can make that distinction harmful or not. It's perfectly alright to make jokes about gay people, including jokes that wouldn't work with straight people. We make jokes about straight people all the time - get any stand-upper talking about marriage - and if you are too conscious of someone's gayness to make jokes about them, that is discrimination in itself.
  11. Basic max cape is: H63 S5 L62 (top left on interface) H63 S5 L48 (top right) H63 S5 L34 (bottom left) H61 S4 L19 (bottom right) I suggest you keep the exact distances between these, but you can change the Hue and boost Saturation to get a stronger cape. My cape is the base +2 saturation (more red!).
  12. Ancient Pyramid mummies are extremely dried-out from being in a desert tomb, and close to a source of power which makes them resistant maybe? Chaos tunnels mummies are in damp tunnels, so they're not as flammable, but more squishy?
  13. Thanks |^_^|. 1300 chomps killed now, 13.031m to 120 dg (meh), also got another ancient page (3-4 more or something). Edit: Spent 1.6m tokens (who uses chaotics anymore), did 6 meds (all but one sub 9, only abds but ok), also a large (just a team that was gathering at Dae, 30 min floor :P). 11.1m to 120 now :). Edit2: Slightly more token dump & dg later, 94m dg get, 360k to 119 :). Even that only brings me to #5 for daily dg gains.
  14. Are you saying barrage went from 1500+ hits to ~600 hits, or is the ratio roughly 3:2 for primary target damage to secondary target damage?
  15. Don't bother with Momentum until you've tried ability combat & you're sure you hate every bit of it. It's several times slower than abilities. Good armour is still Bandos (+slayer helm for slayer ofc), good weapons are chaotic claw + ee off-hand or drygore weapons + ee/drygore off-hand (90 attack for drygores, so you just get cclaw). Runetrack and Runetracker are both good tracking sites.
  16. Wat. White stag doesn't even look like a bow. Ogre comp looks exactly like a bow. Yes, it is plain, but that is the beauty of it - no fancy impracticalities, just a solid bow (this goes for 99% of RS equipment of course, not just White stag - nearly everything is unusable except in the lower regions of metals, bronze-steel or so). But ogre comp is not mundane - the grip is a whole wolf's thigh bone :D.
  17. Yep, the Ancient Pyramid mummies are 100% only hittable with fire spells :). CT mummies are just regular monsters, you can hit them with anything.
  18. It's still good at tormented demons. You can avoid a few switches per kill because of the titan.
  19. Grats :). Solid look there, too.

If you want slayer xp, you can use grifolic wand and orb along with a burst spell & momentum to slay. It requires Desert Treasure, which requires 53 thieving, but you can get that easily and it's very worth it. It's also really fun.
  21. According to the Wiki, the stats are: Dragonstone hauberk: 123 armour, 840 lp Dragonstone greaves: 117 armour, 630 lp Dragonstone helmet: 107 armour, 420 lp Dragonstone gauntlets: 26 armour, 105 lp Dragonstone boots: 26 armour, 105 lp Compared to rune, which has (195 armour, 1200 lp), (187 armour, 900 lp), (170 armour, 600 lp), (42 armour, 150 lp) and the same for boots (but only batwing boots are tier 50 f2p?).
