Dungeonering Solo
Shortbow is better than prom 2h, more damage and more accuracy. Shortbow is 918 + 950 + 99*1.5 damage at fast speed, prom 2h is 2056 + 99*1.5 damage at average speed. That is 2011 * 4/5 vs. 2199 * 4/6, 1608 vs. 1466. The accuracy is 7689 vs. 4957 respectively. Primal 2h has 2262 + 99*1.5 damage at average speed, which works out to 1603. Primal 2h uses the berserker class ring which boosts accuracy. Shortbow uses the desperado class ring which boosts ranged level by up to 20% when calculating damage. Depending on whether this actually works and how it's implemented, it can be good or bad. With the upcoming update that makes levels more important, this could become better.

High Tier Item Access
Dungeoneering is probably the fastest skill in the game right now if you take cost into account. It also requires a ton more xp to max of course, but not for chaotics.

Behind the Scenes: April 2013
I meleed some of the ranged automatons, but they always die before they start using their specials, unless you decide to flurry a couple.

Q
The EoE reform worked out to a new clan, Collam Daan. No news to WoT fans, Collam Daan is the university Mierin Aes Sedai researched at. I am honoured to be the clan leader :). Some changes: We have changed the ranking system, everyone is the same rank unless moderating powers require otherwise. We take recruits. We do events, though we'll need to plan some first :P. We do not focus on dg, but on every aspect of the game, from a fairly veteran and high-levelled position (e.g. mostly 2200+, but that is not a requirement by any means!). We do not prefer any way to play the game over another, but that isn't a change. Our official mascot is the pheoenix.

03-Apr-2013 - Dungeoneering Dual Wielding and Charming Imp
@Sy: Your quote is the old version, I tend to edit my post afterwards to correct things :P. But yeah, ability wise 2h is really just better, so given how small any base dps advantages from dual wield are, it's probably best to go 2h even without considering binds. Going by t80 stuff at level 80, it's 980+80 plus 490+40, fast speed, versus 1788+120, average speed, which is 4/5 * 1590 versus 4/6 * 1908, which is 1272 vs 1272. Then claws are 768 + 80 and 384 + 40 at fastest speed, for a total of 1272 as well. So they are equal, speed won't matter that much. If your strength level is higher, faster would be better, but t11 weapons are balanced with 99 strength in mind, you're not going to go higher than that (well, ovl, but ok).

03-Apr-2013 - Dungeoneering Dual Wielding and Charming Imp
For 2h, you have your basics: Slice, Smash, Cleave (31.25-125%), dismember (125%), Sever (47-188%). For dual wield, you get: Slice, Sever, Dismember (same as above), Punish, Decimate (25-100%). So basically for dual wield your basics are worse, especially considering that Cleave is multi-target. Then for tresholds, both have Assault, and you get either Flurry and Destroy or Whirlwind. Flurry has 4*80% damage, but takes 6s to do, Whirlwind is instant 188%. Comparing the two, you can do Whirlwind + two one third basics in the same amount of time as one Flurry, for a total of 188% damage per target + 200% or 188% or 125% per target or just straight 125% (Dismember, Sever, Cleave, Slice/Smash respectively) + 1.33 * 125% (Slice, Smash) and no adrenaline lost. Ignoring adrenaline, you get 320% * targets and 188% * targets + 291%+, which means you need 3 targets to make Flurry better. Of course Whirlwind is better if your targets die in the initial hit regardless. Destroy is nice, but you rarely need anything after using basics + Assault + Whirlwind.

Glacor help
I tend to lure about one click away from the maximum distance you can still hit the glacor at, that's about 12 squares? The big spike attack halves your health, so if you keep your health low it hits less :P. And (fun fact) it does hit other people standing in that square. Abilities: Wrack, Sonic Wave (these for building adrenaline, short cooldowns) Concentrated blast if using virtus wand + book Combust (use at the start of a phase, good damage spread out over a long time) Chain (hits all glacytes, lures enduring sometimes too, use it before unstable blows up) Impact (if you really need an ability to fill out the routine) Wild Magic (two high hits, use it when your target has a lot of health or it is a waste, 3k+) Asphyxiate (good damage over time, 5k+ damage min) Metamorphosis (adren pot right after using this, work up to tresholds on the last two glacytes and use asphyxiate on the final stage of the glacor). Unstable blowing up helps killing the unstable only, the explosion doesn't harm anyone but players and the unstable itself. It can also help kill the glacor, when that blows up, but with cstaff + pots you should kill it before it blows up. The last phase of the glacor attacks faster, so it does more damage per second than the first. If you have to choose, it's better to unload all your power on the final phase, as it saves damage.

Depending on your time zone there's up to 13 hours left today, so post your feedback (or just await whatever is decided).

Behind the Scenes: April 2013
If that's the case, I want the current ports armour convertable into either kind :S.
-
Behind the Scenes: April 2013
The armour update to me suggests: Ports as t85 defensive armour (e.g. useless). Nex as t80 offensive armour (very good). Barrows as t70 defensive. GWD as t70 offensive. Fighter torso etc. becomes offensive. 'Hybrid' is apparently a separate class so I'd expect void, obsidian and hybrid armour to fit in there, having no damage boost (and perhaps also no defence boost, if that's going to be added to defensive armour), so I'd expect that to get worse as well.

Spirit Shield Absorption Q
Ah for pvp, you could get one of the three, depending on what defence/attack you want. Divine is pretty good with drygore.

Behind the Scenes: April 2013
Looks like there's a lot of needy content being overhauled, now to see if it's done well :P. @Gwyn: I think all current tickets are automatically gold, so when you sell your items back you'll get gold tickets anyway.

Dungeonering Solo
Yes, there are more crush/slash weak monsters than stab. The more you melee, the smaller the difference (afaik range & mage weak things are even on all melee styles). Good times are 10 minutes or less averaged for a med, assuming the occasional flower/emote/barrel/pot room that you have to do.

Spirit Shield Absorption Q
Ah I misread, thought you meant 'does it stop working entirely if I have insufficient prayer to absorb the next hit?' which would be funny but not the case :P.

Dungeonering Solo
Medium floors are somewhere around 450-500k xp/h for your highest warps (6 floors @ 80k xp each per hour), which is quite a bit better than it used to be. At your level however, I think it's more like 50k per floor. Of course the average over all floors is lower. When soloing, remember you have two gates (ggs and pgs). At start, get ~50 ess, craft 20 cosmic (doubled to 40 if you have 59+ rc) and 30 law. Basically you gate the first fork with pgs, so the first place there is more than one door. Usually that's home, but it can be a couple of rooms further. After that, run each path until it ends or until you find a door you can't open - if that happens, move on to the next path.

EoE Hangout
Well we have a whole four (five with this one) posts worth of discussion about it so far, so that's not exactly focusing on ranks :P. I do agree ranks can make a clan seem too closed, but in the end is also a matter of how you treat people. I'm not expecting anyone to need to pull rank for a long, long time (afaik we average less than 1 mod action per month, clan-wide), so it's not like people are going to notice or act differently straight away. As for knowledge: all fansites and guides in part suffer from not-updatedness and also of course some update lag (e.g. dgs guidelines recommending hex a couple of days after the update, it even threw xpx off :(), and is less accessable than a clan member. You also need people who are able to explain anything which is not clear in a guide, much more than you need people to explain what is clear. All of these things, EoE has lots of people for.

EoE Hangout
Well I agree we don't need ranks per sé, but there's no harm in assigning them. The ideal is still that there is always at least one person on who can kick (guests that is) and recruit.

Dharok's or Bandos?
Bandos helm is basically Verac's but not degrading, so it's a good option. The other GWD helmets have the same stats but different defence focus of course, so use subjugation if you want melee defence and armadyl if you want mage defence.

Spirit Shield Absorption Q
As far as I know, yes to both. I do not think the spirit shield effect can leave you at 50 prayer or w/e if you take a big hit, it just goes down to zero.

EoE Hangout
Thanks for the input, Ezkaton, Octarine, Mish :). It's the first of April now, deadline is today, so I'll go ahead and write up a summary: EoE members slightly prefer a reshuffle, but the input from non-members is that it's better to start over (thanks Leik, Gingy :P). Note that most people who prefer a reshuffle will support a restart if there is sufficient interest, so this issue isn't necessarily solved. Recruits would help. Removing the official focus on dungeoneering. The practical focus is long gone. More official events and clan vs. clan stuff. I think the idea of merging with PvmDG is sufficiently adressed with Mish' post, though of course PvmDG is your #1 spot to go if you don't like what we're deciding here ;). Ranking system is still a question mark. On the last point: I prefer a ranking system based on clan needs, so ranking everyone inactive as one stripe (because EoE has a lot of these), actives as 2-stripe or w/e, then a bunch of chat mods, some avatar wardens, and silver/gold keys. I'm not sure how many different special ranks would be required, maybe only one, just bronze keys. We have a pretty diverse group even if it's small, lots of people do pvm, some people dg, a lot of people are going for max/comp/trim and stuff, so ranking up based on the game would be hard to balance imo. Ideas on this? As for recruiting, if anyone who reads this wants to join, post! Final input from everyone, please R&R!
