  1. The third best off-hand weapon (after drygores and ee) is the chaotic claw. The crit boost is pretty useful.
  2. C2 is faster at 90+ fishing/cooking, maybe also at 80+ or even 70+, depending on whether you need c1s anyway, how fast you can solo c1 or find teams etc..
  3. No idea. No, speed doesn't come into it. Abilities correct for speed, normalizing the damage to a 4-tick weapon's equivalent dps. But maces do have a high prayer bonus, so they are a little better. If you want to save a little money and invest in something else at the same time, use an EE/EEE off-hand, it's only ~1% worse than off-hand drygores, doesn't degrade and frees up a few dozen million for other gear. Yes. Yes. Yes.
  4. Bandos chestplate would be a bit more effective. Tassets, boots, helmet etc. are only more efficient. Assuming stable prices.
  5. I use Penance, that usually does the trick. More than 1h qbd per 3? hours is too much anyway :P.
  6. 8pm gmt, 30th of March 2013, there was the first EoE vs PvmDG Castle Wars match! After three games, EoE won, barely (total score 9-8). EoE Team Ambler ** Bloodfever **** Jeff Delu Kiln *** Mierin Octarine JD only played games 1 and 2, replaced by Bloodfever on game 3. PvmDG Team A Gardener Caken * Dragon Meamzed ** Saj * Tansuo **** Gardener is not maxed combat, so the CW lobby system allows another player. (* denote captures) First game was even at 2-2. Both teams had one capture very early (defence? nah) and one much later, with tentative play on both sides. EoE had a close call, with the last, equalizing capture in the 17th minute. Second game was equally even at 1-1, early captures largely blocked, more defensive play, but more certain. Longer periods of all-out defence and more barricades all around. Third game had a team change at EoE's side, Bloodfever replacing Jeff Delu. In solid battle-mage armour, Blood captured four flags, leading to EoE's final and only win at 5-4. For having the highest average captures per game, tied highest total captures, and most captures in any game, Bloodfever has been crowned MVP. Thanks to all players for a great event and the good play especially :). (advertisement) Dragon totally owned Octarine.
  7. You can join a team for f1-17 c1s, but at your level you should really just solo c1 all your floors, reset, then do all of them solo med. Try getting below 15 minutes per floor for starters, then below 14 etc.. Some guidelines: Don't kill monsters you don't absolutely need to, open every door, open doors ASAP, bind your best platebody and 2h melee weapon, don't do any skilling.
  8. Got Death Lotus hood, only two scrolls & ~30 plate for tetsu helm and all armour :). Also 8pm gmt tonight, EoE vs PvmDG cw match. Edit: after three games, EoE won (total score 9-8). (* denote captures) First game was even at 2-2. 9. I don't think chinning is very viable anymore, lol. I'm not sure if cannoning even provides any ranged xp if you're not already ranging. Dragonhide is fewer per inventory than battlestaves (9 vs 14). Unless you make vambraces? Idk, seems slow. Gems are more per inventory but also much faster to make. Anyway methods: Ranged is just killing stuff as fast as possible, dark beasts are good for pure xp, slayer is better since you want slayer xp. Construction: mahog tables > carved teak wardrobes > oak dungeon doors (you can also build hobgoblins or stuff with pure cash if you want, expensive and fast). Crafting: air battlestaves work, but if you really want to dump money for fast xp you'll probably want higher tier dragonhide and gems. Smithing: addy ingot 3. Fishing: c2 (also woodcut if you want that xp). Farming: highest tree for each spot (palm, magic) plus spirit trees if available, always calquat, and torstols can make you some money back plus added xp. RC: Runespan. Agility: bonus xp, highest advanced course you can pie to finish. Thieving: PP, MKF. Not many people do MKF, for a reason. Try them and find out :P. Slayer: range this. Hunter: draconic jadinkos w/ zammy favour. Mining: congold. It's a little late to get the gold mining suit now (rather than before 80), but if you want it, get it asap.
  10. Obviously, that's why we have the +1% base dps and a small inaccuracy :P. I think 'natural' crits are <5%, maybe only 1-2%. The difference isn't that huge. There's not much use for dps calcs anyway, ability routines are more important, as you have to change your routine based on what you hit anyway (e.g. an 800 slaughter hit non-moving means you can basically bleed a mithril dragon to 1/3 health).
  11. Thanks for the suggestions Leik, Gingy :). Still waiting for more if available, three more days!
  12. ^ Right, I saw that guide on Reddit you posted, if that's true ability crits are indeed a smaller dps increase. @Hedge: no idea, pretty low though.
  13. Hex lost its bonus damage in the recent dual wield rebalance. It is now exactly a tier 98 ranged weapon, and a shieldbow at that. Sagittarian shortbow is 2h, so it has a lot more dps.
  14. Basically this, it's 1% of your base dps (non-crit), so of course 0% > 1% crit is more important than 99% > 100% crit, just like with the old strength bonus. (also see below for more comments on ability min/max hits)
  15. But if you have all the different organizations, who's going to say which are official and which aren't? Would all marriages still be the same? Could you really speak of being 'officially married' if you could just found your own organization and do the paperwork yourself? That wouldn't satisfy the public-ness of officiality at all. You still want to know who is already married and who isn't. That can only be (conveniently) done if at least one person keeps a database of all marriages, with a search function please. If you have all these different places marrying people, there will be overview websites etc., which take the same role as the government does now, except that they'll always be behind on the facts (due to new organizations spawning as well as inter-organizational lag), trying to make money off it as well, and there will be much less democratic control over it. I keep my marriage out of the hands of advertisers tyvm :P.
  16. The image is on your computer, but that computer isn't always available for 'the internet'. In order to make a picture viewable, you have to park it on a server somewhere. Tip.It has an image hosting service, check the 'gallery' button at the top.
  17. Void would be better armour. Unless you have a yak, you don't need the staying power of higher-tier armour.
  18. 200k/h at 80 hunter really isn't possible, try 160k. Still worth it of course. Use Zamorak's favour as well.
  19. Not a bug, but a design flaw probably. The old interfaces aren't designed with the current graphics in mind. You have the same thing with the xp counter, lots of overlap there.
  20. Abilities are the same speed anyway. And overkill loss is likely not a dps increase that competes with blood neck, or a second weapon bind. Even in a hypothetical momentum-only scape, dual wield wouldn't really be better than 2h I think (unless you had binds to spare, but with momentum only you will kill stuff so slow you want the extra defence :P). The only reason dw > 2h is Destroy, but then there is a good reason for 2h > dw which is Whirlwind and Cleave.
  21. The reasoning slightly more elaborate: You dungeoneer to get level 120 (or any level). At level 119/whatever, you have a lot of tokens, and you could buy that level you wanted, or you could buy chaotics. So you ask yourself: If I spent those 300k tokens not on xp, how much time would it cost me to get back the equivalent xp? Not a lot of time obviously. This reasoning assumes you value xp. If you were not interested in xp and had no tokens, it'd be different. For fun, you can also value other things, such as not getting prayer xp (this can be pretty hard in dungeons), in which case tokens can get a lot more expensive.
  22. The goverment doesn't define marriage, people do (people also make governments). It was defined a bunch of times from take-any-couple-of-thousand years ago to now, in different traditions and codes of law, and now we have our current definition which is basically the love, commitment, forever and official part* (with the note that forever is up for negotiation). I think that if you take one of those away, it's not a marriage anymore, that is, the following are not marriages: Officially forever committed, but no love - a business contract. Officially forever in love, but not committed - this doesn't exist as a separate thing, but it's basically a very loose open marriage where you don't even have to communicate, e.g. you fall in love, get married, then go on your merry way and sleep with whoever and never meet again, but you keep loving. Personally I feel it's not 100% the same as marriage, but okay, it's not really an issue. Officially commited and in love, but only temporary - practically the case with marriage of course, but the vows do say 'forever' - if you don't vow that, you don't get married afaik. Maybe with the 'write your own vows' deal? This is definitely a shaky part of the definition :P. Forever committed and in love, but not official - serious relationships (before marriage if applicable). Now there is a trend that 'official' means you create something which can be reviewed as required to prove that you did get married. Witnesses, license and stuff. That's where the goverment comes in. The goverment keeps track of marriages, because they're bunch of people we appointed to keep track of a bunch of things, take care of some stuff we can't be bothered to do ourselves, such as upkeep on our individual two-mile stretches of highway, or more importantly, dikes. Similarly, we want them to keep track of marriage - at least, I think it rather helps when determining whether someone is married or not, which helps with the commitment part. Honestly I don't see the government doing anything we don't want here. When you start adding more things to marriage, such as tax breaks, you can ask whether that's what we really want - do we want specifically people who marry to have more money? Personally I don't think it's a bad thing - it will help people with little money to enjoy marriage, maybe go out a bit more? There will be people who marry for money, but that doesn't have to be a problem. I don't think it is a problem right now anyway. Anyway that's all really far away from the matter of same-sex marriage. So basically, @Omar: no idea what you're on about. @Ring_World: There is no marriage but the official marriage etc. as per my definition above. I don't think governments in principle recognize marriages that were not officially made known to them. There may be some special cases for Mormons or w/e but you can't just get a priest/mullah/rabbi/reverend/pastafarian to bless you and expect that to be enough - you have to tell someone who keeps track (hi government). You would get married because you want to go from 'forever committed and in love' to 'officially forever committed and in love'. Official - that's the difference. I look at being married as a state, that state makes people happy, therefore denying a couple that state must have a reason. Denying can only be done at the transition to official. The reason to deny would be that one of the three things required pre-marriage is missing (love, commitment, forever). So when someone wants to categorically deny the state of marriage to a group, you start to suspect they question the capability to have 'love', 'commitment' and/or 'forever' in that group. I am assuming here that the people who are allowed to marry include anyone who can consent. The idea being that you do not deny anyone (consenting) marriage in principle, but that you do not make things that don't become marriage once made official, official. If you add more requirements to the definition, you can exclude more people based on them not fitting it. Ex. the ability to have children, or the ability for one partner to lift the other over their head (this would be highly amusing for a short while), or that the partners must be of different sex. Ultimately, it's up to the people to decide what is marriage. The people have already decided that discrimination by sex, race, religion, sexuality etc. are wrong (therefore forbidden), so I think that for not-being-hypocrytic's sake, they will decide that the definition of marriage does not include a clause about any of those things - which it doesn't, in a bunch of places. The US is one of the next to decide. *Note that we are able to understand what gay marriage is, that is, we can read that phrase and extrapolate a lot of things from there, such as the expected behaviour between partners, that the're probably living/sleeping/'sleeping' together etcetera. For the dictionary definition, sex/gender doesn't come into it - but there is a clear default to heterosexuality - you usually have to specify gay marriage separately. Probably because that's less common. Not an argument, please don't reply, just a funny note (I major in language, ok).
  23. Crits are 75-125% max hit for autoattacks and 100% of max hit for abilities. Each % crit is 1% extra dps. You'll notice that ability crits are always the same, but auto crits aren't.
  24. Sad thing is there are still ballista platforms in that screenshot :(.
  25. If you say that gay people want to marry for the benefits, you really are belittling their love. It's not a nice thing to do. For most people, marriage has that extra special feeling of 'forever' and 'the ultimate commitment'. They want to go that extra step. Regardless of divorce rates :P. Either way, legal benefits are not relevant to what marriage is. Benefits can be changed. If you feel that benefits for couples are there to benefit children, raise child support and lower couples tax breaks. In the case of the United States, it would help the children to do something about teen pregnancy, obesity, quality of education and indeed discrimination by race and sexuality as well. If you look at who is allowed to marry, there is the following guideline, which is universal in the western world: "Only any two consenting individuals". Consenting already means that those below the age we consider sufficient to make these kind of decisions are not allowed to marry - children. It also precludes animals. A second guideline is also common, which is "only any one consenting man and any one consenting woman". But this guideline discriminates by sex. That puts it on the same level as "only any two individuals, both of the same skin colour" and "only any two individuals, both of the same height/age/religion/favourite food". That level is called 'unreasonably limited'. It is the level you ought to avoid - it hurts people more than it helps.
