  1. Bring void/Bandos/Torva/Tetsu, drygore rapier + eee/drygore offhand, max melee crit etc. Ovl, renewal, superanti, adrenaline pot. Pray turm + ss. Use your tresholds (destroy and assault) when the QBD has enough health left to take 3+ of the hits, or it's a waste. Don't bother with any of the specials. Eat up for 4 souls and super fire. Flurry the souls for some extra health. Click each artefact when it activates, asap. Repeat 4x per kill.
  2. I don't know about dropped, but they appear on the ground under your gravestone, not losing charges afaik.
  3. I imagine it's a lot easier now since you can heal with resonance/rejuv/guthix butterfly. Depending on how much defence they have, bring mage or melee gear and a high-tier melee weapon, off-hand and shield, some attack/strength pots (maybe def) and the rest food.
  4. Runite ore is bigger luck than the frame piece :P. Should be able to get 4 kills in 2 ovl doses pretty easily.
  5. Tetsu with neit :P. One scroll away from seasinger hood. I used void before but dying to souls + fire wall or superfire was getting annoying.
  6. All stats at level 10 are twice the base stats at level 0... +10% base per level (not cumulative). Yes, replace sea witch with oxhead. 600+600 base stats in morale/seafaring versus the witch's 350+700, plus the combat, it's much better. Finally got two captains at level 10 :). 1740 combat and 1700 +1% morale for the win.
  7. Royal crossbow is better than chaotic because it is balanced to use t80 ammo, so it has the range strength belonging to a slower t80 weapon. Broad bolts don't lower the damage as much.
  8. Royal crossbow pieces are about 100k each at the moment, but drops like 30 rune ores, 50 avantoe etc. are the bulk of your profit (along with steady supplies of bones and hides). I think you can still easily get 20+ kph with drygore, easily 250k per kill, supplies cost nearly nothing (food you get from QBD herself, 3 ovl 3 renew 3 superanti 6 adren 10-15 super restore pots (4) per hour). 4m/h+ is still the profit I think.

  10. Very much this. The biggest help for me when I went for Jad was speeding things up. Instead of losing an hour and a half ranging, I'd lose half that meleeing, tops, on a fail. That takes a lot of pressure off because it makes it less annoying to fail. You also have more resources left for Jad of course.
  11. Combat level is an expression of how well-equipped you are for combat from a level perspective, e.g. whether you have the levels for combat or not. As a measurement of that, it currently fails even more than it did pre-EoC, and it'd be good to make it more indicative of what levels you actually have. Of course it's not useful for directly estimating what your opponent can do, but it's easy enough to assume maximum food, and potions are basically always supers or overloads, which aren't that different. Anything less than max food is just a pleasant surprise really. And FYI, a maxed player in maxed equipment can easily kill a player with all-50s, maxed equipment and max food. Dozens of them, if need be. It's only when they start doing damage (drygore) where you have to be worried. It's actually possible to tank anything below drygores using just t85 equipment with a shield (I've tried, and battle-mage/seasinger + drygore rapier + cks completely rips through a mix of Bandos and battle-mage + chaotic longswords).

  13. TokHaar-Kal is the cape, but everyone calls it kiln cape anyway (or armadillo cape). Fire cape is also good for getting jad pets (99 slay/summ & 100 zeal) and it's the designated cape to wear with gold mining equipment. You should get a few slaying if Kuradal is your slayer master.
  14. 99 attack in any combat stat by itself is a joke really, barely even worth a combat level increase. Two 99s, it depends on which ones, can be alright (e.g. range/mage + hp), but you need 3 minimum (range/mage, hp, def). And for getting at max efficiency for a given style, you need 5 (range/mage, hp, def, pray, summ) plus also overloads. But max combat can't truly be reached until you can perform equally well in all styles. It should really just be a[highest style] + b[prayer] + c[hp] + d[second-highest style] + e[third style] + f[lowest style] With styles being [(attack + strength) / 2], [ranged], [summoning] and [magic]. Idk a, b, c, you can fight over that. D, e and f should depend on the difference between highest and second highest, e.g. it should be 15% for the second style, 10% for the third and 5% for the second, but only if the difference is less than 10-15 levels, because if you're 99 melees and 80 magic, magic isn't going to add to your dps no matter what hybriding you're doing (assuming equipment goes up to t99 of course). So about 15% * (15 - difference)?

  16. The QBD isn't very tough, you can easily get to the fourth stage and brandish the crossbow. Stage 4 is where the real damage happens :P.
  17. New regions would be more of the same thing I think, buying another set of upgrades, getting through the low-success rate weeks at the beginning, getting a bit faster trade goods in the end. Pincers is a fine place to end for now. I wouldn't say no to new stories and a series of quest-based voyages (or a PoP-using quest?) but Ports already take about 50 days to get through, which is fine. In the end it's not *that* different from repeating region 1 all over again.
  18. Current captain progression is 50/100, 100/200, 200/500 and 350/700. 25k captains would be 500/1000 which is already as good as base crew (traits), better than oxheads and other dual crew. Another step up would be crazy, 700/1400? That's 1330/2660 when at level 9, not counting traits. With current ship and crew upgrades, captains would be a huge part of your ships stats: 100% on a 10k triple: 5720/30k = 19%. 100% on an 11.5k double: 4390/23000 = 19%. 100% on a 20k single: 3060/20000 = 15%. For speed, it's more, easily >40% on singles. Personally I can only get close to the 100% on scrolls/trade goods for morale singles (maybe also combat once that crew reaches level 10), at about 98-99% without a merchant - with a merchant 90% is the highest doable. Adding another 1330 to those singles would allow you to get 100% on all of them (except maybe sf), and >95% on merchants, but traits get less valuable. I think such a high success rate would be pretty boring. I think the captain stats, traits and ship/crew stats are balanced fine as-is, especially with captains providing a big chunk of speed as well. At most we could use another tier captain at 20k chimes, but even that's not really necessary.
  19. I think the 200m cap is solid, probably a removal of minimum levels would be possible, and adding more minigames as well.
  20. Mace is fugly, rapier is prettiest (but still... blue and orange? really?). Not going to rummage for pages cause it takes forever now, you still get duplicates rummaging. Got about 22 or 23 pages now, so that's almost done.
  21. I'm surprised nobody has mentioned A Clockwork Orange (Stanley Kubrick, 1971). It's amazing.
  22. You should use either melee or hybrid top, legs and shield (if applicable) and ranged boots, gloves and helmet. Jewellery boosts crit, so damage, so you probably shouldn't switch to ranged rings or anything, but all-class rings work (onyx) and the same for amulets (fury) and capes (skillcape, ardougne cloak 4, spirit cape etc.). Most of the time, meleeing a magic user is a really bad idea. The only exception is when you have a much higher tier melee than ranged weapon (ex. drygore vs. zaryte, chaotic melee weapons vs. crystal bow).
  23. EoC happened, and ~15 minutes. It's really not a big deal, miths are still pushovers, I don't think frosts would be different.
  24. So I went miths for ancient pages, tetsu/drygore etc. 50 minute trip. Gained over 500 charms total (20 blue 100 crim 104 gold 328 green), and experience indicates I killed about 150. Got two pages. Also Jeff/anyone who's going to read this and tell him before someone else does, I'm holding your drygore rapier & 3.8m in splits cause Ambler may not have (much) internet for the next week or so.
