Let's see, a new skill, something massive that's been brewing for around 1 and a half - 2 years, something new, something unique... Hmmm.. I was discussing this in the hyt cc earlier, and it seems that there isn't much more to be covered on RuneScape, except maybe some form of transportation. The thing is, Sailing CAN actually be a good skill, it can unlock new land and quests, monsters and weapons unique to the new land, expanding RuneScape even further. Heck, even combine theiving AND sailing for a piracy minigame (as in, theiving piracy, NOT software piracy). I was thinking Necromancy - But wouldn't that fall under Summoning? Or not? Could be a great way to unravel things in quests, reawake the dead >.>. Can come in very very useful, if executed correctly, but I guess, if it has to be f2p, then that's ruled out. Engineering - Sounds a little too close to smithing in my opinion, throw that idea out. EDIT Astronomy - Interesting, but in a Medievil based game, what the hell would you do with all the crap about stars? Throw a spell at it? Flight - Good idea... can't think of how to execute it. Be like mounts on WoW except on RuneScape? Making Explosives (Can't think of the name for that profession) - Could be combined alongside combat, spices things up. Milking - Lol joke skill but an idea nonetheless. Level 95 - Corporeal Beast. Level 99 - PvP System!! Spy(ing?) - Somewhat like theiving, except with spying? I dunno. Just an idea. Readd Archeology - Nahhh... Other Ideas - It's bloody 5:46am and I haven't slept yet, Gnight and I'll edit post later

Hmmm, I was on irc and seen this linked alot RSOF – By Monsieur Egg – Title “OMFG WTF!!!!???” Qfc : 129-130-881-60082913 EDIT - Forgot last few hundred words >.< [hide=WARNING: LOTS OF TEXT] okay so i was at green dragons today and there was this noob level 138 and he put up a cannon and i'm liek wtf? he's a level 138 who comes to green dragons wtih a CANNON? what a noob unless he's really poor irl or ingame cuz why would he be at green drags? so i told him to get a life and he said smd, so i said nice life noob, no-lifing nerd and he just ignored me... he didn't care what i said, i actually think he was a bot.. so anyways i hopped world and there was this level 65 with a iron c'bow trying to kill these dragons and he was hitting 4's everytime, i think jagex should make it that you have to be 80+ to go to green dragons, after a while of green dragons i went to wc some ivy, but there was like 15 ppl there?? wtf?? most of them we're botters/afkers and it took them 1 minute to react to the ivy that's already chopped... so i got really mad and started screaming irl and my neighbor called me and said "stfu noob i'm botting on rs" so i'm like "wtff"???? I do not have a opinion on the subject, as I'm not interested and or involved with it, but I think what we should work on is stem cell research and clone/make organs. Although, that's a completely new story, what rights would a clone have?

This has been around for years and is nothing special, probably you have never heard of it because not many people actually stay logged in 6 hours straight. Although, I must admit, it has happened to me quite frequently, I rememmber getting autologged out when luring rock lobsters, that was... weird.

Wow there is so much to type I don't know where to start, I think I'll go home and edit this post when I get around to it... One of the most significant updates is in fact the Grand Exchange, oh and by the way, Runescape Wiki is a great place to get information from. EDIT - Since I was typing about a similiar thing to another dude in pm. Here it is. BTW MODS I CANT FIND HIDE TAGS INSERT THEM FOR ME PLEASE Since your lil thread has gotten locked, which is a shame, I thought i'd type up a little pm of what's new, just because I'm bored enough to. Anyways, you probably heard about the Grand Exchange, to go into more detail it's basically a system where you can trade things without having to trade player to player, many players use this system to trade goods, however, it is flawed and prone to price manipulation. Basically other players fill in offers, and you don't even have to be there for the offer to complete, or start to complete. The Grand Exchange is what updates the prices on items, which means, instead of player set trade prices, it is determined by the average values of 'yesterdays' trades. Uhmm, The Wilderness being removed ended up with ALOT of updates. The very first PvP updates were Clan Wars and Bounty Hunter. Bounty hunter was a semi success, but was far too flawed from the start. The object of that minigame was to kill players (pk), but there is a catch. You got to be able to tank 3 minutes after looting to get out with full loot. That lead to massive riots on both youtube and ingame, forums were spammed constantly for months and raging players were complaining that Bounty Hunter was a failure. Bounty hunter was tweaked, with the combat system changed. It was a 'special single' where players CAN get piled, only if the victim is not attacking anyone. Also, there were a skull system to show how much items of value the player is holding (coloured skulls). The system worked fine for a long time, but real world trading became a problem again, as it was easy for real world traders to hide in a corner and well... real world trade, exactly what JaGex was trying to combat in the first place. Then came PvP worlds, it started out with literally no loot, whenever you get kills you only got around 5k-20k worth of loot, players complained on the RuneScape Forums and Jagex changed it. Also, the way PvP worlds works is that almost the entire map is a pk zone. There are spots called 'hotspots' too, which I will discuss further in this pm. With the addition of PvP worlds, and loots being extremely bad, Jagex implemented a new system, a system of 'Dp', "Drop Potential" which you gain through staying in a 'dangerous zone' risking at least 75,000gp. Many players abused this, and used things like air strike in full metal, which means it'll be impossible to hit anything (it's impossible with -65 mage bonus which you get with full metal + snakeskin boots or d'hide vambs). Then Jagex nerfed this, leading to the second method, Wind Bolting. Basically the same thing as Wind Strike, except with different runes, because Jagex only made it so that Strike spells don't give dp. Oh, and did I mention that with dp, there is a chance of getting good drops such as the Dragonfire Shield (new as well), Dragon Full Helm (just a rare drop off mithril dragons), Dragon Chainbody, and PvP armours/weapons. Quick note on PvP armour and weapons, basically the best weapons/armour in the game, but only will last 1 hour. They are extremely powerful and even moreso than the Godswords, which was released some time ago, I'll talk about that after this little section on pvp. Anyways, Jagex removed that AS WELL because players on RuneScape Forums (god don't you hate them) were complaining about deflation, where pvp drops made things worthless day by day. Jagex replaced the PvP item drops with so called "Statuette drops" which is basically items that can be sold to a npc called Mandrith for pure coins, and the Statuettes drops were so frequent that many many players went 'milking the pvp system', risking minimum amount of cash to gain a drop but getting a massive amount of coin value. This lead to inflation, with everything in the recent 6 months skyrocketing, buy outs lasting longer than the ever did before, all time highs for even the most normal items. The Armadyl Godsword, a Godsword from the Godwars dungeon which I will explain about later, went up significantly. From being at a steady price of 67m, soaring up to the current price of 124m. Every activity became more profitable, but at the same time, everything got more expensive. It pretty much balances out, except that not all items rise equally. Although, that's a bit besides the point. Jagex then 'nerfed bolting once more' so that anyone not taking much damage for a long time CAN be pj'd (player jumped) becoming very easy targets to rushers. Oh, and Bounty Hunter was removed sometime after PvP worlds were released, after a case where a boy got hacked and lost in real life cash and got on television for it, all through bounty hunter (remember the stuff about real world trading, that's how it was transfered). Bounty Hunter was rereleased to the masses around 3 months after being closed, instead of being a crater within the volcano for a minigame, the whole of the wilderness became the minigame. There were a few designed worlds for it, it is basically the same system as the PvP worlds, except for the combat level differences, which is exactly what the wilderness level was. Pvp System was 1/10 your current combat level plus 5 levels, being the combat level difference that you can attack. Err, another old update that was relatively important is the Dragonfire shield, dropped by Wyverns, Steel Dragons, Iron Dragons, Mithril Dragons and lastly Black Dragons. These dragons drop a piece called the 'Draconic Visage', which I call a dragon's face, which can be attached to the Antidragon Shield (Which used to be called Dragonfire shield, only changed name because of this new shield) for a fee of around 1m gp, or requires 90 smithing which can be assisted. Another Update is the GodWars Dungeon, a dungeon filled with high level monsters designed for the bravest of warriors who dare enter. The storyline says that it was a dungeon where the monsters of the third age fought to the death, but was frozen and trapped until the fifth age, the current age, and began to thaw, not realising about the change and all the fights were over. Basically there are 4 bosses of each god, The Bandos Boss (forgot his name), he can hit in the high 50's with his fists and 30's with his ranged attack, very accurate and likely to kill the unprepared. The Armadyl Boss, a giant pigeon (what I call him, not really a pigeon, more like Aviantese but whatever), shoots little 'whirlwinds' which is his mage/ranged attacks. His ranged attack can hit in the 70's and hits everyone in the room, his mage attack hits near 30 and melee maxes 25, but very accurate. He never uses the Melee style unless he's not being attacked. The Saradomin Boss, a true boss of great power, has dart speed attacks which can hit 30's which are highly accurate, also has the ability to 'hit you again' when you hit her. ALSO, her mage can hit everyone in the room, and hits twice, up to 30's on both hits also. Only the true masters will survive in her room. The Zamorak Boss, he can punch 40's pretty accurately, but has a chance of hitting through prayer which can max even higher than normal. He isn't too hard, he's similiar to the bandos boss except that his ranged attack doesn't exist. With any high level update, there are bound to be high level rewards, which will be the Gwd Armour and Weapons. There are four weapons called the 'GodSwords', a slow sword that has high accuracy and can hit extremely high. The four kinds of GodSwords vary with the special attack, each having unique things making them 'special'. The Armadyl Godsword, hits 25% higher when special attack is activated, the highest strength bonus weapon in the game and has the ability to hit extremely high. The player swirls around when the special attack is activated, and is a great weapon for pking and monster hunting. The Saradomin Godsword, the slayer's godsword, heals 1/2 of what you hit, although, it heals a minimum of 10hps as long as your hit is successful. Half of what you heal is also added to your prayer points. Great for slaying, and monster hunting. The Bandos Godsword, hits 10% higher when the special attack is activated, however, this drains the full special attack bar. Whatever you hit will also be deducted from your opponent's defence level, making it a viable option to pk with, but not great. The 'poor man's godsword' because it's relatively cheap compared to the others. The Zamorak GodSword, probably the least used and least bought godsword out there. This godsword has a special attack which will freeze your opponent for 20 seconds, alike Ice Barrage, and has very high accuracy. The 'Castle-War' Godsword, or maybe the 'Saradomin GodWars Dungeon' Godsword because the Saradomin boss has a extremely strong and fast melee attack, where the freeze comes in handy. Oh, just remembered, new weapon called 'Dragon Claws' came out too. These extremely overpowered weapons are VERY accurate and fast, can hit VERY high like the Armadyl GodSword, up to the 80's, and is very easy to down full rune within 3 seconds. This weapon is what made RuneScape pvp a 'joke' to most players, and without protection from melee you are likely to get rushed by the people wielding this weapon. Dragon Claws is a level 60 attack item, which is a drop from the Tormented Demons, a monster unlocked after the quest "While Guthix Sleeps", a very long tedious quest. Tormented Demons are over level 300 and prays against your combat style, so it would be wise to hybrid them. Corporeal Beast - Another high level update, for anyone with balls of steel to enter. Even more dangerous than all Godwars dungeon bosses combined, this is where the TRUE monster hunters go. This monster, a level 785, has 2000 hps and extremely high defence, accuracy with attacks, and many different kind of methods to deter soloing. It was practically near impossible to solo, and even with the best gear, you cannot manage more than 1 or 2 kills. It basically has several ways of being strong. Firstly, it has 2000hps, also, you cannot fully protect against any combat style it uses, you are forced to tank him. Many people used the step under trick, but JaGex implemented a stomp if he was being danced with. Ruby (e) bolts are capped at 100 damage to make the Corporeal Beast not easy. This monster is weak to stab, leech spells and the statius warhammer's special attack. It usually takes a team of 10 to have semi fast kills at the Corporeal Beast, but why it's so seeked out to be killed is because of a new item released called 'Spirit Shields' which can be blessed, and attached to another new item, the expensive items, the sigils. The Arcane and Spectral Sigil are both to make somewhat useful shields. They are mage shields, the first providing most mage bonus in the shield slot, the second being a tank mage shield. The Elysian and Divine Sigils create a new shield, with a new effect. The Elysian Spirit Shield can 'Reduce damage by 25%, 75% of the time'. The Divine Spirit Shield can 'Reduce damage by 30%, all the time, but you get half of the blocked damage drained as prayer points from your current prayer points.' Hmm, let's see, there are more stuff, I just gotta think through >.<. The recent ones I can list is High Level Herblore, Prayer, and I guess an old one would be Summoning. High Level Herblore gives reason for players to train herblore, with a new set of potions. The "Extreme" potions. These untradeable potions raise levels 7 more than a normal super, a significant difference. Also, along with extreme potions comes the Overload potion. What this potion basically does is give you a whole set of extreme potions, for 5 minutes, and it wont go down, even with Saradomin Brews. This is EXTREMELY useful at both tormented demons and Godwars dungeon, Corporeal Beast too. The High Level Prayers update is a recent update of Jagex's, probably one of the most recent, which basically gives you a set of new prayers, an upgrade of our old ones, including protect from prayers, and also piety, our previous best. With sap/leech, you can make other people weaker by keeping the prayer active. Another new prayer, Soul Split, is basically a upgraded smite, which also heals per prayer point it drains. This makes it extremely useful for anywhere that the protect from prayer isn't *that* important. Turmoil is basically an upgraded piety which is alot better and stronger than piety. Oh and last but not least, Summoning! Not new new, but relatively new. It has been released around a year ago, our most recent new skill. It is a members only skill where one has to create pouches to (efficiently) gain xp in the skill. This is one of the most costly skills, if you 'buy' your charms through expensive methods. Charms are an item which are used to create the pouch, untradeable and common drops from monsters. At lower levels, summoning can be used to help everyday things, such as storing a few items. At higher levels though, summoning becomes a invalueable tool that triples lengths of trips to GodWars Dungeon, and many other places too. A spirit terrorbird can restore (half your agility level)% per scroll you activate, which uses 10% of familiar's special attack. This requires 52 summoning. At 88, a healing familiar called the 'unicorn stallion' will be unlocked, which heals 14 per scroll, and you can activate 3 scrolls before the bar will be too low to activate. The special attack bar for a familiar takes 2 minutes to refill so it's extremely fast. This familiar is wanted by many and *very* useful in many many places I can list so much more but I'm tired atm, might send another pm I guess. That's all I can think of off the top of my head. It's not useless, it's infact very useful against team dclawers in multi. I personally went around risking 60m with it and the extra seconds you get to press teleport is definately worth it. Although, sadly, that's pretty much the only use.

Inflation hasn't died off, why everyone seems to blame 76king I have no idea, sure it's a major factor, but PvP statuette drops as a whole contributes to the inflation, NOT JUST 76KING. The important thing in economics is looking at the big picture, the 'big picture' isn't just what's in your bank, or what's in the dude with 20b in items worth in his/her bank, it's the economy as a whole. Cash floods in with statuettes from targets and normal pvping alone. Anyone remember the massive deflation of items when pvp started dropping barrows, infinity, dfs and dfh? Not many people 26k'd back then, but they were still going down in value; why? Because the pvp system as a whole had the major flaw of instant creation of an item/gold into the economy, which never happened before. It seems that most people don't realise skills like herblore and construction isn't true money sinks, all those skills do is spread around the gp's and destroy/change the items, never really taking out the money. People question: Why isn't there a summer crash this year? When will it happen? The answer is, really, 'never', because partyhats were rising, the number one trend setting item there is, the confidence of w2 is in the partyhats. It seems that most people point fingers at 26k/76king because it's an easy target to pick on. Seriously, if Jagex literally made 76king impossible (yeah, not likely, but for the sake of arguement just assume they do), would inflation REALLY die off? Not really, target drops are still insanely high, usually more than half in the form of statuettes which is basically pure cash. Pvpers also bring in a heap of cash too, more than one would expect. The only solution Jagex can give to end this inflation madness is to: Totally rework the GE (not realistic but hey, Jagex has pulled off some good work before) to prevent manipulation and also totally reworking the pvp drop system. Infact, what harm could be done if all pvp rewards were untradeable and has special properties like the divine/elysian shield? Another great SOLUTION to the problem is for new moneysinks such as an MTK upgrade (hey, who thought that something profitable can be a moneysink?) or Pvp armour repair to make real use out of Pvp armour? Say, 70% of the ge cost fixable once with bob in lumbridge, in it's "Degraded" form. That way it actually leaves the game thus creating enough demand to keep the prices relatively stable yet have an effective moneysink to fight the money overflowing into the economy. There are ways Jagex to solve the problems, however, Jagex is stubborn to admit or aknowledge their own wrongdoings. Anyways, enough of my little rant type post, gotta sleep dammit.

Prices of high level items can drop anytime for being overpriced as they are, but the economy is influenced more than just pure inflation or deflation. May just be a small crash and ends up with a rebound like the one withnessed a few days after the anti76k update

Interesting guide, definately worthwhile of reading. You should actually consider writing Tip.It Times, you're good :P. Small note though - Include 'effeciency' into it too, profiting isn't everything, it's a balance of speed, rate of buying and selling, patience, and effeciency. Something as small as offering 2gp above mid price for an item can get things alot faster, which I don't think you have mentioned, because most people tend to click on either the min, mid, or max button. The whole point of large sales in a store is to shift a large amount of items, to increase profit per hour, instead of profit per item. Sometimes it's worthwhile to sell something for a lower price and work with the money than to wait many hours for an item to sell. I would go on about flipping, which profits alot, but I'm not sure if it's suitable for your guide, would be an idea though. Another thing is uhmmm - "Predicting the market", which is when panic selling happens, such as when the anti 76k update occoured, and the market is rising (partyhats rising = market rising), you should stock up on second tier items, that could be added into the section where you talked about h'ween mask for 10m profit. Second tier items are like whips, barrows, etc, things deemed 'not as good as' godwars items but still pretty good items. When First tier item rises - you have 2 days to stock up on second tier items. Hmm, do have a few things for you to add but brilliant guide once again, definately helps beginners, Best of luck with improving the guide and make it into AoW :) Dzi

I.. had a weird day, went to College as usual, wasted 'cause I've stayed awake all night, got hugged randomly in the caffeteria by some random dude (was creepy...) and now I'm posting on teh tip it forums. God further maths is a crappy course, thinking of dropping it with a Emerging grade of E and really boring work. I dunno, I guess I'll post when someone replies to this topic. Actually, quick question, how many people in Colleges/Schools hug eachother (same sex) as a symbol of friendship? Apparently it happens alot in the states, even as a greeting, weird stuffz.
