#-o Tbh, I haven't seen anywhere where it says it wasn't an earthquake so let him call it what he wants. For all we know, earthquakes haven't been felt before by the NPCs on Rs so to them it could be a strange power... So a Jmod posting that it was DEFINATELY NOT an earthquake is not enough for you? Back on topic; I found the first decent rsof thread on the same subject. He thinks like me >.< Qfc; 16-17-972-58841613

Favorite thing about the opposite sex?
I could write a book on how many things are wrong with this thread. But on topic - probably the same as Lenticular EDIT - Oh and probably how they react to sexist jokes =D

The last thing you wish you didn't eat.
Hmm, probably steak tartare? Raw meat in large portions = Bad. Heart Attack Grill will probably be the only meal I wish I didn't eat. They fry their fries in PURE LARD, they LARD their buns instead of butter, the average burger is 2000 calories and minimum size is half pounder (they call it open heart surgeries, such as the 'Single Bypass') Last but not least - They call their waitresses 'nurses', naughty nurses...

Strange power
No. The Godwars dungeon specifically was where they fought over the god sword, a powerful blade that could of helped turn the tide of the war and they each made their own hilt for it. The godwars in general covered the entire world and is largely believed to be about controlling the Stone of Jas, although the original factor that started it was Zamorak returning to runescape as a god after he had originally been banished for "killing" Zaros. The other gods did not take too kindly to his return, or claim to godhood, especially as he deemed himself the God of Chaos. Also there is no definite proof Bandos and Zamorak were allies. It is likely as Bandos is the God of War and Zamorak causing War he would like, however he also probably would dislike seeing another god on the scene. The only 100% concrete known alliance was between Saradomin and Armadyl (Order and Justice) Zamorak and zaros vanished at the same time, Zamorak wasn't really banished, he was just assumed dead. And there is one other known alliance. Zamorak and Saradomin joined forces to take out a large part of the zarosian empire, aka today the wild. Damn... someone get their facts straight. Zaros was a god, he came to Gielnor and the Mahjarrat decided to follow him instead of Ichlarin. Zamorak and his little 'allies' plotted against him, being Mahjarrat. They found the staff of armadyl and believed it would damage a god, being a god weapon. Through sheer luck, they managed to impale Zaros and the godly powers transferred to Zamorak to a godly status. Zaros faded out of existance, and now exists in another distant plane. Zamorak was loved by some of the Mahjarrat, the others seen him as a 'dog', a traitor. I'm a little unsure here but then the Gods decided to fight over the power that Zaros left behind, leading to the Godwars. Guthix ended the Godwars once he awoke he great slumber, banished them to another realm and sworn if they were to ever directly influence events on RuneScape, a group of Guthixians will rewaken him in a ritual and create a new RuneScape, wiping out the current one. That being said; Zamorak never died.

And I don't think that looks normal. Looks to much like a snake or an S or something. I'd say more evidence it's all about the ritual. That would be 169. If we're at year 169, and the ritual is coming at year 169, then it's likely to be something to do with the ritual.

Strange power
We are told that Zaros is going to return this year. I'm not too sure, but we're at around year 164 or something in the 5th age. If the ritual comes once every 500 years, then it'll come in 5 RuneScapian years. We are also told that the stars are aligning (some dialogue with Witchaven villagers I think), which is when the ritual is performed. So with all these clues, we're just hypothesising what might happen. The Soul Altar hasn't been touched for ages, other altars are glowing, Zaros' last influence caused the Zamorak Statue in the Chaos altar to break. Edicts of Guthix might've been breached, but it wouldn't be because Zaros was a god that came to Gielnor during his great slumber. Oh and last but not least; We face different directions dependant on location you were at during the time of the Strange Power. So we're not facing a direction, we're facing a location. The ritual site in somewhere North in the wilderness.

Strange power
This is getting me to thinking ... are the edicts of Guthix self-enforcing (like he did some spell and the other gods actually can't enter the world), or did he just make laws and warned the gods that if he caught them he would punish them? Okay, let's get some facts straight. Edicts of Guthix is a sworn oath on a few Guthixians to perform a ritual to reawaken Guthix, and completely make a new world, wiping out Gielnor. No one wants to test him because he succeeds even Zaros on the battlefield. The red glow may or may not be a breach of the Edicts, as well as the Chaos altar's statue being broken due to communication with Zaros. The Edicts applied to those Gods at the end of the God Wars, so Zaros is a bit sketchy. And uhmmm, yes I made a weird typo, I meant Zammy was a Mahjarrat, no idea why I said Zaros. We do face the ritual site when levetated though, so possible Mahjarrat link.

Who the hell said Gwd? We're probably going to be used as a portal, a gateway for Zaros to return to this realm, just maybe. Our characters are 'vital for Zaros' revival' and we are needed 'in one piece'. It could just be figurative or it could be literal. Zaros didn't die, he simply faded out of existance on this plane. Where's the vital for his revival part from? Also, Zaros wasn't in the God Wars (was he?), so it wouldn't make sense for him to be involved as his forces had largely been wiped out when Zamorak betrayed him. No, zaros was banished, his army wasn't wiped out until about the end of the god wars. It was when saradomin and zamorak got together and Nagasaki'd the wild. Zaros had no army, his 'army' were Mahjarrat, who betrayed him. Zaros had whole cities devoted to him. There's absolutely no evidence to suggest that Zaros' entire army was comprised exclusively of Mahjarrat. That's true. But I still don't see "Zaros Gwd". Oh and some copy pasta from RS Wiki; [hide=Copy Pasta from RS Wiki]In the recent Q&As from three Jagex Moderators (Mod MMG, Mod Roderick and Paul Gower), it has been hinted that Zaros will return soon. It was also hinted many years ago by the Chaos Elemental in a Postbag from the Hedge with the phrase "bizarre boron swell", an anagram of "Zaros will be reborn". During The Temple at Senntisten, the player collects three items to give to Dr Nabanik (Azzanadra), used to contact Zaros. This creates a connection between the temple and the plane where Zaros is located, allowing speech. This connection is only the start of what may happen when Zaros is fully reborn, as shown in a cutscene. The cutscene shows the dark mage's portal going crazy (almost destroying the universe according to him) but the mage thankfully manages to control it. It also shows an earthquake which cracks a Zamorak statue at the Chaos Temple. The Monks of Zamorak are furious, and suspect it is the Saradominists' fault. This manifestation of power appears to have violated the Edicts of Guthix, which prohibits all other gods from directly interfering with Gielinor (only the gods' followers can act on behalf of their gods). If this was indeed a violation, it is not known whether it was intentionally in violation of the Edicts, as the edicts were proclaimed during the God Wars, long after Zaros had disappeared from the plane of Gielinor. It is also possible that the Edicts do not affect Zaros as he had not been in Gielinor at the time they were put in place. [/hide] Some useful info there. Mod MMG, Mod Roderick and Paul hinted Zaros' return soon. I think it's a completely natural idea that it would be Zaros' return. It's like the walls have started to 'crack'; after the events where Azzandra opened communications with Zaros

Oh and even though this is a wiki page; Look at this article http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/The_Ritual_of_Rejuvenation There are plenty of screenshots showing that we all face North/North-East when the strange power was unleashed, so there could be Mahjarrat connection. (Zaros was Mahjarrat too)

Strange power
The strange power affected f2p players, yes. But it doesn't mean that the future update hinted will be f2p. Say if the thing were actually Zaros, as a weakened god, wouldn't he still have enough power to affect everyone? There has been one untouched theory - Edicts of Guthix. The thing about balance and God banishment from the realm of Gielnor.

Tip.it Times 24 January 2010
The first article I just scrolled through and didn't find worthy of reading. Hypocricy (sp?) happens to the best of us, Jagex is a company after all. A company out to make money. The second article I found pretty interesting, it was long but brings out a pretty valid point. Luck and hard work is two different things. There are so many simple, english words that gets misused, and it happens ALOT in runescape.

161 298 quest points tho maybe something special for 300 quest points. Doesn't make much sense but probably will be a quest with major storyline advancements. Let's see; Mother Mallum theory rejected. Mahjarrat theory still pretty strong. Altar theory needs development.

You might be onto something! Jagex twitter said something about variety is the essence of life. Stone of Jas (thing that made runestones)? Mahjarrat? Star Alignment? Ritual in The North? Zarosian Return? And it has been confirmed that the runecrafting altars are in fact growing brighter, in particular the Cosmic Altar. Hmmm... This may be completely garbage, but the Soul Altar remains non existant, yet. Could this be? Well, "Soul" could certainly be syonomous with "essense of life". The "variety" may be the including/upgrading of the spells that use soul runes, and possibly the release of the Soul altar along with it. My question, though, is why is the Cosmic altar in particular acting so stranglely out of all the other altars? I'm very unsure on this subject, but would it be the influence of the power of Zaros? I mean, when Azzandra communicated with Zaros, it left the Zamorak Statue in the Chaos altar broken. Soul altar is still quite a possibility... with altars sometimes being unlocked via quests and all. By the way - What's the current quest count? 199? So the next quest will be 200? Hmmm!!

3rd Age/Spirit shields/Phats Discussion
Lol. Edibles and mints are the currency used to buy phats. If you can buy phats now for fewer mints and edibles (and you can), then that means phats are dropping. As I said before, you are right that you still can't buy partyhats for pure gp -- gp have for months been amongst the worst crashing junk in the game. Like I said, it will be a while before partyhats can be bought for gp. When that happens, edibles will crash, too. But having said all of that, it's easier to get a partyhat today than it was two months ago. I had a guy offer me a red today for one egg and "about" seventy mint. That was his opening demand. Seemed a lot lower to me than what I would have seen not all that long ago. do you even understand the concept of dropping? people are trading off phats for FEWER mints/edibles is because THEY COST MORE. if phats were dropping, more phats would be traded for other expenses like pure cash and there will be more phat sellers in general. to me it looks like there aren't many phat sellers looking for cash or those who just wants to get rid of it so in conclusion, they aren't really dropping at all. the only thing that is happening right now is that mints and edibles are rising like hot cakes. The 'rares' market will be interesting once mint cakes reach around 45k or so. Everyone knows it'll crash at 60k, so many will probably try and dump them off at 50k or so. Because mint cakes are now directly linked with edibles, and edibles linked to phats. We'll probably see a crash in the whole rares market, or at least, a panic sell. What do you think?

Oh, so more speculation on the Mahjarrat quest series? EDIT - He is unfrozen and then takes the form of Muspah. He cannot take part in the ritual in his weak state. Okay, you're probably right

The rarest rare!
It's a quest item... it's not kept but there could be definately alot out there on idle acccounts. Edit - Just noticed a double post, mods mind merging them? D:

The rarest rare!
Define Rare. Official Jagex Defined rare; Either half wine or a cracker. Rarest cape; Probably Slayer cape with no trim. Rare item; Warship toy. Technically... items that haven't been released yet, only Jagex Moderators can use them >.>

Strange power
Oh, Tif is back up. I typed this in a word document a few hours ago. At 7:48 pm GMT, most if not all players were affected by a red mist, and being levitated into the air; like the quest cape emote. The emote lasted around 10 seconds, and in the chatbox you would see a message saying You feel a strange power unleash itself upon you. There are a few theories; The Mahjarrat Quest line; because we all faced North or North East, depending on location. Many Mahjarrat spoke of The North, a Mahjarrat Ritual site where they must sacrifice a Mahjarrat and the rest prolong their lives. The timing of when it happens has to do with the star alignments. Witchaven Villagers have a chance of saying something related to the stars (or planets) aligning. The Slug Quest line; Mother Mallum is said to be free, according to Witchaven Villagers. Quotes being Free. She is free or The mother is free. Mother Mallum has had plans of taking over Gielnor before, and weve just freed her during Slug Menace. (For those who think weve killed her, no, that was the Slug Prince, sort of a distraction) Im not too sure, but Kennith might have some updated dialogue too. Mother Mallum possesses the ability to slightly control us as a host (demonstrated during Slug Menace), therefore the theory that the red mist is her makes sense. Further speculation from the forums lead to Mod Mark H to post an anagram. Acolyte Until. It was quickly figured out to be I cant tell you after Mod Mark H posted that the anagram was 4 words, and begun with I. However, Acolyte rhymes with Proselyte, which might mean that it would be a new rank/armour from the SeaSlug Quest Series. (Proselyte is unlocked from the Slug Menace quest) Zaros return; The red mist affected all players logged into RuneScape, not only the P2p players. It would seem possible that this would be a godly power; the rise of Zaros, continuation of Azzandras loyalty? Last but not least, OfficialJagex release a twitter stating, "Next week in RuneScape: Variety is the essence of life!" Possible link right there. Mods: The text might be huge, put in hide tags if needed :s
