we already know about the mysterious chronicles. I'm looking for information on which floors M and Thok and the Misc journals drop.
-
I don't think that's the case. Some journals seem only retrievable on certain floors.
-
I have a few friends missing journals. Also, there apparently are at least 20 misc journals. But Jagex seems to have censored most of the content on them. So info on them is pretty hard to find. So I'm looking for 2 things: a) A list of which floors players received various M and Thok and Misc journal drops in. b) Information on Journal 19 [spoiler=Journal 18] I have journal 18, so it's definitely available on floor 57 or lower. I don't recall the exact floor which it dropped. But personally it dropped from a monolith room shade. I have friends who have gotten it from other monsters though so it's probably not a monolith room exclusive. This journal reads as follows: [spoiler=Journal 19] A final name said he got a the drop somewhere between floors 52-54 it's called "a letter from brundt" [spoiler=Journal 20] ^^ only info I could find on it. Might be legit, might not be. The token is clearly a fist of guthix token though, which fits the lore. but uh yeah, some ppl still missing things like M and Thok 3. It'd be nice to know if that drops from say, a frozen floor or a furnished floor, for example.

rune gauntlets, berserker shield and gravite weapons.
Grimy_Bunyip replied to atticusako's topic in Help and Advice
The rapier isn't really that great. The 2h is the speed of a battle axe, and hits a lot higher. The grapier is really, really un-accurate and has a low max hit. ignoring accuracy, the dps the rapier is 13% better at 70 strength 12.76% better at 99 strength. assuming rune gauntlets and amulet of strength. according to the KB the gravite 2h gives -4 slash bonus, so I'm going assume that's wrong. but lets compare gravite rapier stab to gravite 2h crush gravite 2h has 32.2% to 31.7% greater max accuracy roll at 70 and 99 attack respectively. so yeah, gravite 2h is clearly better at sub 50% accuracy (PVP scenarios) but I don't think this rules out the rapier? 13% better dps against a defenseless target is nontrivial. -

isn't there a gravite rapier? it should be about 10% better dps than 2 hander for the lower accuracy. -

Dungeoneering's Impact on the Community at Large

We don't kick people for non-psychological mistakes. You've never dged with us. Not that we would considering you think of us as elitist scumbags. The only reason you make that comment is out of your own prejudice. *sigh*....read all of it please...I was not directing it towards you...or Low...or ancient...or any of the other "elitists" on this forum. There ARE people that kick for the smallest mistakes, I have seen it, I have experienced it, I am not making that comment out of prejudice, I am making it out of experience. I DO NOT think "YOU" are elitist Scumbag. I do however think you are unable to read a full post now..... I wouldn't dg with you either, because I don't need to, I have a group I dung with. It has nothing to do with elitism in your case. (seriously, this forum is getting worse and worse at reading....) my apologies ;o -
Rapier still beats longsword imo Rarely? Even vs 99 def, trova, divine, etc? Nah, longsword is better than rapier if you're using it on say, full torva. On a fully armored staker (as opposed to a high def monster, since most high def monsters are weak to stab) the longsword would be about 4% better damage rate than rapier. This 4% difference however, does NOT increase with increasing armor. Once you get to a certain armor point, LS is always roughly 4% better. But never much more than 4% better. On a fully armored staker, a chaotic maul deals damage 10% faster than a longsword, and ~14% faster than a rapier. So once again, chaotic maul wins in this scenario unless you think a shield can justify losing 10% damage rate

The only reason you make that comment is out of your own prejudice. I have personally keyed for hoodless players before, to great success (sub 25 min floors on occasion). Obtaurian was actually hoodless when we were training him, and he's one of the leaders of Dungeonsweep now. As long as you personally are open and quick to learn, there should be no problem. Granted SOME players in dungeonsweep might discriminate against you. I don't think many of the leaders/keyers would. And honestly, if Jagex just made effigies buyable for say 30k-60k tokens. That would revive dungeoneering permanently. It would make dungeoneering the best way to skill any skill. It'd be really OP. But it'd fit the lore and would solve the problem. -
Dungeoneering's Impact on the Community at Large

there's a difference between mistakes like. forgetting to drop a group gatestone, or dying in a ramokee room. those are mistakes that happen due to like, lack of experience conditioning. Those are fine. Mistakes that we will not forgive are as follows: Hording the food and not sharing. Indicates personal insecurity. Takes too much drama to convince the player otherwise. Selfishness. Making the team wait 5 minutes so you can get a farm run done. Once again, too much drama and player to convince the player otherwise. Lack of communication. How are we supposed to teach you if you don't talk to us? General stupidity. Average player takes 15 mins to learn safespotting and trampling mechanics. And most of that time is the instructor figuring out how to explain it. It's pretty easy to pick up. But for some players, they just don't get it. If you can't figure something like that. I have no patience to teach you anything else less trivial. You haven't dungeoneered with us, so I dont mind teaching dungeoneering. But I do NOT play RS to correct other player's psychological problems. I will never turn down a quick learner though, even if they're only lvl 70 dungeoneering. I have plenty of high lvl DGers on my black list for just being stupid though. I mean sure, I'm elitist. But I'm not skill lvl elitist. I don't see a problem between discriminating over personality. I mean clearly you anti-elitists discriminate over personality too. -
it's not a matter of need so much as jagex trying to promote more communication. it's useful for dungeoneering but that's about it. My bet is jagex just wants more players to get more chummy.

anybody else tired of light puzzles yet? :P Man I'm still so bummed that this isn't ROTM5
-
good call i guess it won't be worth it to loot td ashes.
-
says the guy who hangs out with efficiency nerds when DGing and etc :P I DIY RS research tbh. Cuz rest of ya'll are narbs who don't help with research. but maybe I'll hire ppl to do research for me now that free trade is out.
-
elaborating takes effort. It just is. If you don't believe us you can crunch the math yourself, or look at my farming spreadsheet. most ppl are too lazy to give details for stuff like this :P
-
from my understanding, it's botting.

making GP too cheap would cause spiraling inflation, as the dollar to GP ratio tries to equilibriate. 50 cents per million gp would definitely put items like divines and phats well over the 2.1bil gp barrier. if only moral issues were the only problems of making gp buyable <_< but yeah. The whole caving into free trade/wildy thing has got me worried. This buying of banned accounts thing is even more worrisome. Jagex has invested a lot of money in stellar dawn, the 3rd MMO, and of course the failed mechscape (which they already lost tens of millions on). If all of them go under, I can see Jagex caving into financial problems.

why are climbing boots worth more than rune plate?
Grimy_Bunyip replied to swagcake's topic in Help and Advice
cuz climbing boots aren't 12 gp anymore. They changed the shop price. they're 75k to buy from the shop, alch for 45k now. rune plate is just under 70k from shop, alch for 39k -
I'll make you a custom spreadsheet tbh, name ur price :D derp

Same here the construction update, for things outside of the POH, was suggested long long ago. But the update only goes up to lvl 51 cons, and only makes existing shortcuts more convenient. So, this will probably be neither very useful nor a high level update. but the one off xp might be good, especially for newer gamers. Perhaps this is moreso to put some more incentives for many players who just don't bother training construction at all. The crafting update, goes from lvl 1 to 81. So, while it makes crafting more useful, it is by no means a high level update. Crafting will still, essentially, be a skill that's worthless past lvl 80. Arposandra update will be nice. Not the MOTM5 that was so rumored. But I guess it's my fault for believing the rumor. if it werent for that rumor, I'd be pumped for a new gnome quest. I'm hoping the quest lets us plant more than 1 spirit tree at a time. Otherwise, the new patch might not be terribly useful. Demon ashes could be an interesting update. Jagex makes it sound like it will work for ectofuntus but not altars. too bad ectoplasm is still slow to collect. Once upon a time charter boats sold ectoplasm. I'd love it if jagex would re-implement that, at say, a stock of 20-100 ectoplasm per 24 hours, for the demon update. assuming that the ashes don't work altar. if not, at the very least the ashes will provide a nontrivial use for prayer brawlers. -
take ess, trade limit is 25k you buy 25k, you can't buy any more. Then you sell 25k. You can now buy 25k again.
-
your fm lvl is a bit low, so I'd expect to blow a handcannon every 400-500 shots to be conservative. but yeah i prefer handcannon when im not steel titaning. best dps, high max hit.

Where have you read this ? If true this would be awesome ! an FAQ Jagex answered said that extra bind slot is a likely reward for the first dg quest. There are pics of a Jmod saying something along the lines of: "I think the next ritual quest will have 83 fletching and 78 woodcutting requirements" the same Jmod went on to say "You might as well get 65 dungeoneering while you're at it" that's where the 5th bind rumor comes from. and where the 65 dg number comes from.

Vindication FTW
