They're adding new dungeons, not locking away existing ones with dungeoneering as I understand.

Behind the Scenes - July
lets see a unique reward after every treasure trail there are ~60 unique rewards for lvl 1 treasure trails ~50 for lvl 2 ~70 for lvl 3 ignoring third age and there will of course, be a new "lvl 4" cluescroll there are 150+ new rewards, so about 40 new rewards per level of scroll? would that be enough new rewards to offset the effect of having a unique reward every scroll without affecting the expected drop rates of past items? unless of course they made the drop rate of the new items is really high.

best tactic to hunt grenwalls and pawaya
a) yes use a fruit bat and fruit fall scrolls B) yes clothing has not effect c) you shouldn't need to be going 5-6 squares away. are you using the correct spot? you should use the location southeast of the crystal doors, past the fallen log. you really should be busy all the time.

Best place to chin?
nah he meant your neck. anyways skeletal monkeys are by far the best raw ranging xp. but nechs, mummies might be worthwhile now for effigies. cannoning wallasalki's and aberrant spectres are definitely fair game too.

Who are the Signature Heroes?
I just hope the characters aren't too cliche, they certainly are seeming that way right now. They have to live up to hazelmere and cyrusis either way.

Edicap Mushrooms
yeap, you get like 5 i think *shrug*? it's random of course. but it's almost never worth planting em.

CLS vs Rapier
the speed loss of the rapier is almost never overpowered by "much higher stats" If I were you I'd get a rapier, even considering you boss hunt alot. But you should consider getting a maul for PVP and boss hunting later on.

Maul vs CLS vs CR
you really shouldn't jump to conclusions like that unless you make the calculator yourself. this sort of calculation shouldn't be much less accurate than existing max hit calculators. people who write these calculators are just obligated to say that it's not 100% accurate, because there's noway to know for sure without seeing the jagex code. Either way if you don't feel like using it, it's just your loss.

Maul vs CLS vs CR
I'm also interested. Has anyone tried CT fiends with a maul using an iron/steel titan and extremes? doesn't the issue of them degrading based on the number of things attacking you make them unappealing for the chaos tunnels? it might still be worth it on triple charms though Wait, what? where would you have hear that? I have used more than 300% rapier charge for slayer so far and never seen any differance in the degrading between using it in kurdal dungeon/chaos tunnels. Also, the 10 hours is completly bogus with 16-20 hours of pure combat being more accurate. i'll try to find the thread, but someone went into i believe the chaos tunnel dags room with a rapier equipped and didn't attack anything, and it lost charge. it's several weeks old if i remember so i'll have to dig edit: http://forum.tip.it/topic/267217-rumour-about-chaotic-weapons/page__st__20 i left the country within a few days after i first read this so i'm not sure how it panned out, was this confirmed true or false? i read in a help and advice thread asking for slayer weapon help, that rapier would be best followed by whip when in multi combat, so i assumed it had turned out true So I was the one who posted that rumour My friend confirms it, but i haven't bothered to test the rate of degradation myself. I'll go do that in a few minutes hold on :) location: Lighthouse Dagannoths 16 monsters attacking me at the same time initial charge: 47% time elapsed: 4 minutes 43 seconds final charge: 44% at this rate, my chaotic rapier would have lasted for a grand total of ~3 hours so yes, confirmed.

Effigy Questions
that's an interesting theory rs wiki says spiritual mages drop effigies though. *shrug* rs wiki is wrong a lot of the time though. But this theory is very intriguing :P

Effigy Questions
1) yes 2) From what i've heard, ice strykewyrms have beastly drop rates. But i doubt anyone knows for sure :P i'm inclined to believe that the drop rate is a simple function of the target's combat level, and that Jagex didn't go through the trouble if manually adjusting the drop rates for each monster.

DPS Calculator Project
Actually, all you need is basic algebra, and the ability to calculate the area of triangles/rectangles ;) I explained it in a previous thread: but it boils down to this your accuracy is the area of the red triangle, divided by the area of the red triangle + the area of the blue shape the length of one edge(not hypotenuse) of the red triangle is approximately equal to your max accuracy. The length of the longest edge of the blue shape is approximately equal to the target's max defense.

DPS Calculator Project
Yes, I agree that it can't exactly find DPS against monsters, since you don't know their maximum defense values. But if you spend the time to record an approximate accuracy against a monster using the same set of gear each time, you can approximate the monster's maximum defense value. I agree with you about DPS against players in that it doesn't perfectly simulate a real match. It doesn't even incorporate eating time, which is a vital part of who wins fights. However, it's still useful to have a general sense of the DPS of a weapon against a certain kind of defense. It isn't predictive, but it can give you a relative rank order for how effective your setup is. To your first statements; b- I used Jard Y Dooku's max hit calc, which according to him is the most accurate max hit formula so far. c- I can upload the workbook as a MS Excel file, not Googledoc. b- what is Jard Y dooku's equation? I tried looking it up but it came in the form of a computer code. Could you decipher it for me? c- this is good stuff. a- you don't know that the damage*10 update affected attack and defense rolls, perhaps it only applied to max hit and not accuracy. If this is the case, the impact of "tie breakers" is 10x what you think it could be. I did a void accuracy analysis a while ago, and as it turns out the difference of 10x and 1x resolution in accuracy, often makes or breaks the difference between black dhide and void range, just as an example. It's negligible in many circumstances, but I personally don't consider it negligible overall. Hm. How did you get this? + How do you know the minimum roll value is nonzero? first statement: oopsies the equation I just posted above assumes that accuracy rolls range from 1 to n, as opposed to 0 to n the equation for 0 to n is as follows: n/(2*(m+r)) for n =< m and (m+2r)/(2*(n+r)) Anyways the explanation for this equation is as follows: we can draw out every possible outcome of a pair of dice rolls, in an m by n matrix (or an m+r by n + r matrix if you assume rolls of 0 to n) Lets mark every point in the matrix, where attack > defence with an x the equation I posted above is the equation for the total number of x's divided by the total number of slots in the matrix. your second statement: I think you misunderstood what i meant by "minimum roll value is nonzero" Lets say a player can roll an accuracy roll of 0 to 10, then the "lowest accuracy/defense roll that is nonzero" is 1. more specifically, I did not claim that the minimum roll value is nonzero. I said r was the lowest nonzero value you could roll.

DPS Calculator Project
I've already written a DPS calculator that I believe to be accurate, but I've never published it for the following reasons: a- I don't know the resolution of the accuracy/defense rolls. b- The max hit equation as per the tip.it calculator and runescape wiki both seem slightly inaccurate from my experiences. c- google doc calculators are kind of pointless, as players can't input their own stats. I'm taking a closer look at your equation right now, but so far it seems correct. anyways I do have 2 small comments to make. a- what do you think happens when the attacker and the defender roll the same value? I'm inclined to believe that the defender wins, as per the implications of the Jad vs Roosters article. b- what do you think the Accuracy/Defense Resolution is? Strength used to have what I call "1x" resolution, but ever since lifepoints came out, it now has "10x" resolution so to speak. I've done a few calculations on accuracy myself, and the difference between 1x and 10x resolution can be substantial, even at higher levels. yeah so the formula here: so instead of n/(2m) I would argue that the equation would be (n-r)/(2m) for n =< m and (m+r)/(2n) for m < n where r is the lowest accuracy/defense roll in runescape, that is nonzero.

Dragon Halberd
it's got an attack speed of 3 right? as opposed to 4 for a godsword that and it's not quite as accurate godswords also give +8 prayer which is handy at places like TD's. I just don't really bother using damage specs @ boss hunting. Either I use EE or SGS or I just don't use my special attack bar at all, it's not necessarily worth the hassle.

Quiet Before the Swarm 24-Jun-2010 & Free to play quest changes
where was this post about 400k street price? 400k street price is eqvivalent to 75k ge price. Mod mark said the people would have been able to sell them or the same price anyway, with just more hassle. Boots were 2 gp each at sherpa. Mod mark is ...... sorry, i can't post those things on these forums... wait so this 400k street to 75k ge price is something commonly accepted by the trade community or something? The thing is I can understand that jagex wants climbing boots to be 75k gp each, I just disagreed with how they did it. I don't think the problem is that the fact that boots are 75k ea so much as the inflation it caused, and the fact t hat some players got really rich instantly, for 0 effort. In the long run, slayer will be a bit more profitable, with boot prices rising again, which, barring the initial and completely unnecessary inflation/general chaos, could be a good thing.

Runecrafting for money?
That was a bit confusing but I think I got it. After where it says price, at the second #, what does the 1, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 etc mean? Whenever you runecraft natures/deaths/bloods, there is a chance to make multiple runes. So you'll get more deaths/natures/bloods than the number of ess you craft. for example: At level 90 runecrafting, you can expect to get 1.2 death runes per essence you craft (hence 1.2) at 91+ runecrafting, you will always receive 2x natures per essence, but under level 91 runecrafting, you can still expect 1-1.5x natures per essence Also, for the abyss one, is that assuming you get out back to Edgeville with a glory? yes, and that you don't fail the abyss obstacles high agility/mining levels are ideal for the abyss. But high thieving can be used in place of agility, and high woodcutting in place of mining

Runecrafting for money?
Is that sheet assuming lvl 99 rc? Becuase I honestly don't think those lvls of items/hour is correct. Or maybe I just don't understand your layout. items per hour is essence used per hour, which would not be affected by runecrafting level aside from pouches. My items/hour should be fairly accurate though, keeping in mind that RC run times vary heavily based on how long it takes a player to bank. Anyways the xp rates should be within a margin of error of 15%, barring errors in my spreadsheet equations. personally i recommend death rune crafting through the abyss, once you have 65 runecrafting as for 56-65, natures are fine, with a graahk preferably.

Runecrafting for money?
This should be fairly accurate just make sure you use the tab that says large pouch + summon, not the giant pouch + summon one. and something for everything else
