1 chaotic rapier, I love dungeoneering, but once i hit 99 defense, I probably won't do much slayer ever again.

I read an RSOF where jagex was talking about the next bonus week. people suggested making the next bonus week friendlier to nonbuyable skills. the only things jmods said were along the lines of "we'll take your comments into consideration" i doubt jagex actually leaked their intentions for the next bonus week yet.

Well it's not too surprising Gerhard praised RS over some other MMO. I wonder if people would respect him more if he took a more of a "RS is kinda a joke but I love it anyways" kinda stance. anywhoo does anybody else think the stellar dawn logo looks kinda like the mass effect logo?

beautiful. when people do research on efficiency, they generally spend like an hour to save 20 minutes for themselves. but most RS gamers are too selfish to realize that this also saves 20 minutes for everybody else that is into efficiency. the researcher effectively spent 40 minutes of his time for the greater good. then he goes on forums and posts his research and he gets crap from idiots who talk about "playing for fun" and "aesthetics" or what not. with absolutely no regard that the researcher was just trying to help. caring about how a CLS looks is just shallow and selfish. If the world researched more about efficiency, it would be a kinder more charitable place.

Couldn't we use the sextant to estimate the width of the RS map. assume the width of the RS map is the circumference along the equator. Scale that to the size of the earth. Then use that to derive the scale coefficient?

in addition to what has been stated already. The relative benefit of each additional prayer bonus, diminishes rapidly. lets say you spend 160k gp/hour with +0 bonus With +30 prayer bonus to get to only 80k gp/hour you would need +90 prayer bonus to get down to 40k gp/hour so if you're wearing a soul wars cape, you might be more inclined to get the tassets if money isn't an issue.

you can get sturgeon from heavy rod fishing, which gives more fishing xp than salmon + trout. barbarian fishing also gives strength + agility xp.

I've yet to hear a single person in favor of the CLS, that can offer accurate, non-qualitative arguments in favor of the CLS. at least in regards to players with roughly max total melee. Honestly, anybody that still isn't convinced that the rapier is better yet, probably isn't worth convincing.

alot of dungeoneers already use promethium 2h's they work really well with the shadow silk hood, since only dogs, mages, and a few other monsters can detect a player. promethium 2h is better than spear at slash, comparable to the spear in crush, and has no stab option. the thing is monsters that can detect the SS hood (IE dogs/mages) happen to be weak to slash, making room clearing really quickly. the spear is still better against most bosses though, so for large dungeons a balance of promethium 2h's + ss hoods users and spear users actually works well so i hear.

Didn't they always give both magic xp and RC xp? I recall them doing so months ago.

they do not and the bunyip only converts 1 fish at a time, so it's not so effortless.

Such as what? fishing blue crabs, cave morays, and maybe salve eels. Enchanting high level bstaffs is great runecrafting xp hunting of mastyx is also good if you leave traps and come back for em later. err, that's all for off the top of my head :)

well for 99% of purposes of use, you'd use the much, much easier and quite accurate formula rather than spending 2 minutes more for an exact figure. using the formula of (level^3)/20,2 is the formula most frequently used and produces very accurate results. Rather than trying to calculate the exact figure it would be easier to look at a table of results. do you always try to convince people to think *exactly* like you do <_<? I'll just use lvl^3/20 if I want an estimate tbh.

Judging by your dungeoneering level, I can assume you never actually been there yourself. Chaotic Rapier maxes at around 520, average hit is 260. It hits 1500 times in an hour at max efficiency. Lets assume you are operating at 80% efficiency, which is an understimate IMO, that's still 1200 hits per hour. Now lets assume that you hit 80% of the time, which is the average from my experience. That's 960 hits per hour. 960*260=249,600 damage per hour. Frost dragons have around 1600 hp each 249600/1660=156, thats 156 kills per hour WITHOUT CANNON. I think it would be safe to assume that a cannon can give you an additional 33% of the damage you are dishing out with rapier. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFr6_wWQJbQ check out that vid if you don't believe me on accuracy rates, but that guy is using super sets (don't think he's using super attack either), piety, and a anti drag shield while I'm using extremes, turmoil, and a defender. I don't have maxed stats. I don't have extremes/overloads. And I don't even have a yak. But I'm still calling you a liar. 1 hour is 3,600 seconds. Two-hundred dragons per hour is a dragon every 18 seconds. You're not getting a kill every 18 seconds, regardless of what you use. And if you say you are, tell me what world you're on so I can come watch. I get 160 kills per hour @ black dragons for slayer tasks, with a cannon, overloads, turmoil, and lvl 97 strength frost dragons have 157 HP, black dragons have 190 that translates roughly to 170 frost dragon kills per hour once you tack on the fact that im not slayer task I'm not the most efficient slayer in the world, and i dont wear full bandos or anything. so 200 frost dragons seems very much possible, albeit hard to pull off. soul split doesn't do enough to cover the damage they deal and food slows you down. I'm not 100% sure how ud do it.

maybe against bosses, but the boss attacking slower won't really help you kill it quicker =\ the defense draining ability for the ranger seems like it'd be better for bosses, that don't have particular weaknesses.
