  1. wait isn't that a trivial situation? I thought this thread assumed the decision making point at which you decide, rapier or longsword.
  2. onyx(i) is pretty much always inferior to a berserker(i) unless a) ur hybrid/tribridding against a target of high defense b) your equipment accuracy bonus is very low to begin with. i have two onyx (i)'s, but i stopped using them since i completed my DPS calc.
  3. actually, full void has been researched to be +10% ranged lvl and +10% damage, in contradiction to the runescape knowledge base. so it's actually more like +10% accuracy and +20% damage, roughly full void would be better for slaying monsters that are low defense, but black dragons most definitely are not.
  4. I don't recall that time, could you remind us all when that was? Obviously, skill capes have never been about their stats, but rather looks and...achievement. I'll clarify, I meant best prayer bonus Back before the ardy cape, and the soul wars cape. Achievement capes + the firecape were essentially the best. And since there are 25 different skillcapes, it meant that each character could have a unique looking cape on their back, without having to compromise statewise. there's only 2 colors on the soul wars cape. And achievement capes really don't compare to the soul wars cape.
  5. I think the advent of soul wars capes has made characters look less unique I liked it better when achievement capes were the best, because then you could show off.
  6. I don't think this much is true anymore. Especially with chaotic rapiers, void melee + deflector, and such. dharoks never more than doubles the damage you would normally deal. a chaotic rapier in proper gear, assuming no slayer task/void, already has a higher strength bonus than a dharok's greataxe. and it attacks 1.75x for each time the greataxe swings. not to mention rapier + defender higher accuracy than the great axe. edit: did calculation assuming max stats and gear, and ideal conditions for dharoks, and no overkill loss, dharoks is still 3.3% better dps than say, a chaotic rapier. but it's pretty outdated at any rate. Getting to those ideal conditions would be pretty tough.
  7. it would seem you got trolled by somebody who input a target of 100,000 effective defense into my spreadsheet. Oh wait, was that you?
  8. if what ur ranging has really low defense, ccbow is kinda pointless since it only boosts accuracy.
  9. i can't find those pants for the life of me, are certain ones unlocked with various stats? nvm that's ceremonial
  10. poison isn't that useful in dung
  11. I was under the impression that your damage is actually Damage * 15% * 15% and not just Damage * 30%, if that makes any sense. the increase is additive, not multiplicative, so yes 30%
  12. I like how well organized jagex staff is. 2 hours ago this was posted in my clan's IRC: http://i.imgur.com/lh72E.png THANK YOU JAGEX for making me sit around for nothing. I cry paintshop!
  13. 16-17-213-61513955 page 2 no update today
  14. ~9 mil at current prices you should just earn some extra money and burn it for the sake of training faster. 9 mil is only like 2 weeks of daily activities. not much in the grand scheme of things.
  15. if your budget is that small, then there is something wrong with how you make money. Look up laura's daily activities guide in the general guides section. All players should be making at least 500k-1000k gp/day from daily activites. That should easily fund cooking with wines.
  16. my cooking spreadsheet isn't complete but it's still a good resource: http://forum.tip.it/topic/254457-grimys-reference-spreadsheets/ anyways from what my spreadsheets indicate. Don't bother cooking sharks, go straight for cavefish/rocktails once you high cooking levels. Currently cavefish are better profit but less xp. But both training methods are comparable to each other. Wines are also a good option as well, comparable to cavefish/rocktails. I would recommend making wines to anybody, but you should consider switching to cavefish/rocktails if you're tight on money (make under 2 mil gp/hour) you really shouldn't be using anything else to train cooking other than cavefish, rocktails, and wines.
  17. DH isn't as good for training as some people think it's usually worse xp rate than a whip on slayer task, and always worse than say, a chaotic rapier.
  18. I recall clearly, a post, made by the TIF community, requesting melee and ranged max hit data on the TIP forums several years ago. I doubt the data is still around, even if it were, it would be before the life points update and would be reasonably useless. Either way I'm not requesting any of TIF's data in particular. I don't think you guys have what I'm looking for anyways. I'm just offended that paw claw expects me to go out of my way to submit error reports. I've also been offended by how the tif research community has treated me, and other independent researchers. But that's not really relevant to this thread. Sorry for bringing it up.
  19. I'm not looking for the equation. I'm looking for the data on which the equation was based on. I know that's how it works. But you're telling me I should go out of my way to submit a report. My response is: No. Ultimately I'm not asking for tif's data. I'm just scrounging for what data I can find. If that means no data, then fine.
  20. Well, you do have a point there. I guess i did use the website content at least once during the last 5 years. I guess I'm obligated to show ALL my data to the tif research community. OH WAIT all my data is already public. Even that data I mentioned about the TIF max hit calculator being 10 LP too high or low, yeah that's available for public viewing in my "data log" spreadsheet, u know, the one where I keep all my data and publish it for the whole world to see? Granted the data isn't very organized, but oh well. Even the very code I use to write my spreadsheets, I posted for the public to see on my spreadsheet thread. The only data I don't publish, is data I saved on old files, on an old laptop, which I no longer own, and did not have the foresight to back up. I've yet to turn down any requests for data or code since I published my spreadsheets. My point remains. I'm not giving free data to a research community that is already stingy with their data. Don't get me wrong, I'd help out practically any budding researcher. Because, there is at least a small chance of building a mutually beneficial relationship. But I have no such relationship with the TIF research community. If you want my help, it's available, dig it out of my spreadsheets in your own time. Because it's there, go ahead, take it. I'm not going out of my way to do it though.
  21. then let the people who use their website content help tip.it out because I haven't used any of their website content aside from forums in half a decade.
  22. I don't blame em for keeping it a secret, but if they're going to do that, they're going to have to suck it up and deal with their research on their own. I'm not helping out any organization that won't help me out in return. Getting data is a pain in the rear enough doing it as a single person.
  23. Historically the tip.it research team is really introverted. I don't think they'd let me help if I wanted to, not that I'm really inclined to do so.
  24. is there a resource for max hit data anywhere? I'm trying to perfect the max hit equation. The Tip.it max hit calculator underestimates my max hit by about 10 LP and the rswiki equation overestimates it by about 10 LP But I can only get so far with data I collect myself
  25. you can't change that :P
